Garmin nuvi 880 Review

on GARbage 250W Try to search in " point of interests" .. it will prompt a screen where you type what you look for. Well, on my "GARbage" i have 2 letters F and no G.

So it's basically A B C D E F F. When i emaile them, they said it's an easy fix, all i have to do buy a USB cable, ( i have to buy it !!) and download a new software or whatever...REALLY..? There was no apologies, nor an offer to send back for a repair... GARMIN SUCCKS !!!! I am going for MAGELLAN !

@komitas23 good thing about GARMIN is that it takes you to places with a better, faster route. MAGELLAN makes you drive the lone,scenic routes.For example I own a GARMIN and my aunt owns a MAGELLAN. we were on our way to a water park and it had her going all sorts of ways and said she would get there in 25minutes when mine had us taking better routes and said only about 10 minutes. But if you want Magellan go for it.

happy new year!. i'm interested in this unit but am skeptical between this model and the tom tom 740live. Which unit is better? I would love a unit that features 3d lane assist maps, bluetooth, etc. Can anyone help which is the better model or rec. another model?

Inferior to TOMTOM as most of their's will will give a warning when you're speeding.

GARMIN, the BOOT lickers, caved into suppressing the feature as per the government requests.

They need your speeding taxes!

The thing is dead slow. And I mean S L O W..... Just look at how many times 'Drawing...' appears on the screen. Almost at any screen press. I wouldn't use this thing even if I got it for free.

The review is ok though.

its actually good. when your aactually up close, it sounds alot better. plus you dont really notice its all computerized when your driving. this woman the the british guy is good. the australian and other voices suck

But I have to say this model is pricey just for voice recogniton, MSN Direct, and wide screen...because the 360 model has all other feautres for $160.

all that for a GPS I just had to turn on my tomtom and go. built in voice command and remote! for my music and i can call and phonebook. tomtom rocks!

WRONG!!! TOMTOM doesnt have full voice commands, and it doesnt auto continue for power and music player after the power is disconnect...soemthing TOMTOM dont pay attention to.

Where's the manual? I don't see one in the box. Did you get a manual? I pressed the TOOLS icon and then the HELP icon and read every section that seemed like it might help answer my question but didn't see anything.

The Volume MIXER adjusts: 1) Voice, 2) Media, and 3) Phone. My old nuvi 660 let you configure all kinds of cool useful features and it was all very user friendly. I'll go get that button for audio input commands and ask my nuvi 880... Can't be any less helpful than you.

Notice no one drivering the car and trying to put the address in. Then you see that person lost there mind with the 860.

You have to stop the car and nearly turn off the engine before the unit recongnise the address.

The 860 unit does work that well when you're drivering. You have to turn off the radio and close all the windows in the car and then the it might recongnise the address.

Most of the vidoes are in doors and are totally unrealistic. You have to repeat the road many several time before the 860 work.
