....actually, quite informative and entertaining video. Just in case you play trumpet or another brass instrument, I think you might find some trumpet and brass tutorials quite intriguing over at YOURBRASSINSTRUCTOR's Channel.
I do not like, I heard a much better performance. First of all, the player does not hold a phrase, reduce it. also stops at times to play, pass notes.
@jamesnadolny My thoughts exactly when I listened to it, you are quite correct. It's almost frustrating how it drags and how dead his playing feels in general to me. Although the tone is nice it is quite sterile and without any sort of the baroque feeling I might expect. I just come away from the whole performance underwhelmed. I think prefer Tine's version simply because it feels more vibrant and Italian to me, although Maurice's is great too, especially at the slower tempo.
you're right Tine thing is impressive; but talking about "pure sound" and "no pression" you shld check out Maurice André version, the 3movements are on youtube. just no comment...

@atarragona: A beat slow? Nice air, but dragging badly, like a bag of leaden tenor keys.

great performance, of course, but listen to Tine Thing Helseth. She plays it too, but she leaves you dazzled with her interpretation and musicality.

It's very good. Maybe just a beat slow.
And he is playing a tone lower than the original.
Anyway, I'd like to play like him.
