  • ASICS FTW!!!

  • ACIS FTW!!!

  • Wet test looks like it needs to be free if you want people to download it and rate it.

  • So, if I have flat feet (small arch), am I automatically an overpronater?? If so, should I therefore buy a shoe with more support?

  • Wanna know what running shoe to get? Problem solved with the new iPhone Application called ‘Wet Test’ on iTunes. If there’s a shoe for you we will find it.

  • what shoe do you recomend fot overpronators?

  • i just bought a bad ass pair of shoes but didnt take my underpronation into consideration. any good shoes anyone can think of for my running type

  • I appreciate the education but this is a very poor video. The talking in the background was distracting and the buzzing was irritating. Please remake your video.

  • You should know you shoe and foot type. Download the 'Wet Test' of iTunes. It does all this and it helped me alot.

  • like ricky bobby I WANT TO GO FAST

  • I was having some foot pain (resembling the beginnings of plantar fasciitis) so went to my local running shop. They had a treadmill and a camera set up behind. They filmed me running with my current running shoes and it appeared I was overpronating. The man recommended a pair of brooks stability shoes (gts10). I was then filmed running in the brooks and my pronation problems were greatly relieved.

  • Shoe industry is a joke, really....

  • i wanna ask if im normal pronation n bought a over pronated shoe... will it hurt me? pls reply thank you

  • I would visit your local running specialty store and have them figure it out since they are able to see how you run and what shoes will fit you.

  • First off, your question is almost impossible to answer without knowing your weight. But, in MOST cases, generally a ",,,normal" pronated foot (that being 13.5 degrees) will have a higher arch, and a higher arched foot would be better off in a shoe with a little more cushioning than a motion-control shoe would provide. I worked in one of the Top-5 rated RW Magazine running stores for 20+ years, so I do know a little about shoes and biomechanics.

  • @ViperRKOed Well the fact you are neutral means you can wear almost any type of shoe, so not really. But you will notice long before you do any serious harm whether its hurting you, because it will be uncomfortable and you'll get leg pain frequently. The under and over pronating shoes provide more cushioning than a neutral shoe.

  • so could these shoes hold out if a person could run 4.17 mills per. minet?and with one would that be?

  • I work as a Running specialist and this is a great video to understand how shoes work, not choosing the best one for yourself. Very informative, but you have to know how you run in order to pick the right shoe for yourself. Also, look at the design of the shoe. There are certain areas of the shoes that tear up first, you want to look for the one that is reinforced in those areas.

  • thanx!..=]..

  • Pronation refers to the inward roll of the foot during normal motion and occurs as the outer edge of the heel strikes the ground and the foot rolls inward and flattens out.

Supination is the opposite of pronation and refers to the outward roll of the foot during normal motion.

    Not over and under pronation...

  • yeah runners world calls supination under pronation

  • That was helpful. :D

  • realy thank u

  • Pronation is the body's natural way of absorbing impact, the running shoe disables this ability of ours.

  • I just bought a pair of jogging shows of New Balance company. They're the best jogging shoes I've ever have! My doctor recommended New Balance and they're awesome! I did not get sore feet the next day or any pain at all! Plus, I can run easily and with comfort.

  • this is unclinically sound. pronation can only be determined by watching barefoot walking or running. and the three categories are neutral, stability, and motion control. arch length doesn't exactly apply to anything. Rolling in is a better choice of words but try "excessive medial motion." somebody needs to read the journal of biomechanics

  • flipping over the shoe that you wear and seeing where your sole has worn off the most is also a good indicator.

  • what about the fact that ince 1970's feet injuries had doble...barefoot running seems more effective, running shoes kill the sensitivity of your feet making themhit harder the ground....every time i hit the ground with my 6 feet 180 pounds....i transmit 250 poundss of force to the ground that bouce back to my lower back and knees...in barefeet.....is a lot more gentle.

  • Thats true, barefoot running is definitely alot better for runners, but I still feel that some people cannot do barefoot at all because their foot strength has diminished significantly to the point that they need shoes to walk/run in.

  • @AhmedM85 Almost nobody can run bare foot at an athletic level, because the body just isn't designed to take such stress. If you tried to run a fast ten k in barefoot on a beach, you'd have really bad shin splints and tendon inflamation.

  • @FrankBeltre i think also too, shoes are good because say like your running through some ghetto town, do you really want ur feet to touch the syringe/trash filled neighborhood? I look at the streets, and even some track fields, there is no way im goin barefoot in them conditions! lol

  • @FrankBeltre Yes I agree. This is why I switched over from track & field to gymnastics. I like that I can do my new sport in barefeet, and I always do!

  • As long as you're outselling the Running Comapny, all is well! -Steve S.
