  • AMEN Miss Phylicia!

  • Yah, what she said.

  • what she is sayin is true

  • Kid, there is nothing more gay then you listening to shitty ass nu metal bands. Now go.

  • That's a lie!!!!!!!!!!!

  • whats a lie?

  • You know darn well what!!! Saying that this lady don't have a clue about art. You wouldn't know art if it was shoved in your face............

  • hahahaha! how can you comment on art when you're a fan of limp bizkit?!? is this a joke!?

  • She still looks good. She looks better than my mom who is the same age.

  • she still look good to this day

  • Preach, Nubian Princess!!!! Preach!!!!

  • AMEN

  • She may have been already, but Phylicia Ayers Allen Rashad should appear on Howard Stern's show. If she loves the wit and humor of Bill Cosby, she'll love the wit and humor of Stern. Phylicia is the world's best laugher.

  • Phylicia Ayers Allen is days away from hitting the big six-0. But,as I just wrote while commenting on a related video, she is "DY-NO-MITE"!!!

  • I luv watching James Earl Jones' face

But Phylicia is my hero adore her

  • lol his expression is too funny!

  • AMEN TO THAT!

  • Wow. I found this video hoping to find a clip of Ms. Rashad from "The House of Bernarda Alba" in which she recently played the title character. I felt very inspired and uplifted by her words. I was raised around theatre people, so I can really appreciate what she said: "theatre is about... people coming together."

  • I love Phylicia Rashad. She is so elegant and eloquent. She and everyone else were so amazing.

  • I saw this play "Cat on a hot tin roof" and it was amazing!

  • i like watching James Earl Jones...

  • I'm so happy to see a true artist acknowledge this artform with so much depth. I have great respect for Phylicia and Debbie. We need more actors like that. We get to caught up in performing sometime, and forget about the artform.

  • I like Debbie and Phylicia, too^_^

  • Anyone who is not truly in the theatre will most likely regard her comments as pretentious. I completely agree with her. She speaks truth.

  • I've never been in theatre, but I've listened to what many, many experienced people say about it and it rang true to me. In fact, that's part of the reason I'm interested in doing theatre eventually, everything she says in the clip.

  • @gimpy10 I'm a theatre major and every single thing she said, even the words she used, my professors say to me DAILY. In America, we're taught acting is easy and that it's all about emotion. But it isn't it. It's completely physical and requires an extreme amount of discipline and diligence. Theatre IS about community and is a beautiful and necessary part of the human culture.

  • Someone asked the cast if they worried that the movie, being so highly regarded, took away from the stage version. So she is commenting on how theatre is important, because the movie may be regarded but you can't compare to what you see on stage.

  • thank you. I was wondering what the question was.

  • oh shut the fuck up, birdofparadox.

  • *laughs really loud*

  • exactly so since you didnt know, why make a comment. it makes you look uneducated on the matter. if it didnt bother james earl jones why should it bother you?

  • JEJ looks nonplussed.

  • pretentious

  • perfect

  • Phylicia is still pretty hot for a chick nearing 60!

  • she is not a chick

  • agreed...she is a lady

  • i love phylicia
