  • Woooooooow! Could you imagine if they played this live at the Apollo in New York City?

It would have brought the house down.

    Incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • God his voice is so excellent! I've heard it several thousand times at least, but Steve Mariott never ceases to amaze me! His strong, soulful voice just comes to him so naturally. Just brilliant :).

  • This is so cool!!!!

  • Saw HP at Charltons ground in 73, hot sunny day,sat opposite the stage at the back of the terraces, best spot for sound and free exotic fumes drifting up from the pitch! Steve told the crowd at the front to "fuckin' sit down or we're fuckin off", 'cos lots of fans behind couldn't see so they were throwing beer cans including 4 & 7 pint cans, full ones ( ! ) and some of them were landing on stage. Hard to choose best singer that day Steve(HP),Paul Rogers (Bad Co) or Roger Daltrey (Who).Great day.

  • Nothin like a slice of Pie. RIP STEVE. But this only black coffee I dig. Drink mine like my women: HOT BLONDE AND SWEET:)

  • Stevie, unable to resist flirting with the ladies even in the throes of his brilliance.

  • The Mighty Stevie. RIP.

  • wow

  • That was fantastic! And it was recorded live. Bands today should be ashamed of themselves for not sounding half this good with all there technology.

  • @flakyshakes

    Soooooo true.

  • Steve Marriott and Humble Pie,The absolute best you can get!!!

  • nice nice!

  • Great Video...Stevie Marriott ala Ray Charles...eat it.

  • 3 dislikes... to each is own.... But still, how can you not respect this man's talent and like it just because he is so pure?

  • Quality.... AWESOME - I was looking and looking for this in this level of quality.

  • What a voice......there will never be nothing like it ever again...What a bummer..

  • This performance is freakin' outstanding!

Top-notch sound and the quality of the film itself is superb.

The only question I have is:

    How can ANYBODY dislike this?

I see there are two (2) dislikes on this performance. Huh?

  • The best white R&B singer bar none.I knew Steve and when I think of him I think a few words....He was a Force...an Energy...he had an incredilbe stage Presence...off stage he was the opposite (well at times lol). As the man use to say quite often Rock On Mate and man did he ROCK.

  • an infectious smile and laughter. one of the most intense people you would ever want to meet. you left us too soon. RIP

  • where can you find it as a release? the only one is with Ike and Tina, but I was thinking the original one?

  • @SomebodysVincent Buy the Humble Pie album "Eat It"!

  • This beats the hell out of the "eat it" version!

  • This guy and Joe Cocker probably the best white blues singer ever.

  • GREAT clip, OMG... I was lucky enough to see HP a dozen times in Boston and in London, what a fantastic band, they and the Faces made life so much fun. Rock and roll has never produced a better showman and voice that Mr. Marriott. If I could go back and choose between tix to the Stones or HP, I'd go see Humble Pie again, no contest. God bless you Stevie, much love and respect to you. You were a phenomenal talent, entirely unique, and a very nice cat to meet... TIMELESS!

  • great great singer was Steve !!!

  • Wow stellar! I love the blues groove.

  • Go to :38 to skip all the blather and get to the Rock and roll.

  • best Brit singer by a country mile

  • @1mannish1 Remember we're talking Clapton, Jagger, Plant, Daltry, Rodgers,And Stevie..... top 6 But definitely close to the top!

  • anyone know the name of the of the skinny young chick? she's hot as hell!!

  • @PaulXPZ That's Clydie King....

  • Legend miss that fella so much !! Rock On !

  • would it make you gay if you felt a tingle go up your leg when watching a deceased british guy fuckin rock it out ?

  • play this over and over , it is quality .see him at woolwich tramshed . peace brother x.

you da man. no-one can touch you in respect of of your music and your voice. see you on a cloud soon, bruv.

  • This is perfect. Everything about is perfect. Tempo, voice, vibe, filming, sound quality. Perfect. The Blackberries: effortless perfection.

  • Whoa, always felt very blessed to have him as a musical influence. I was 14 in 1973, and to this day, Steve Marriott still amazes me. Black Coffee is epic! I was so crushed when we lost him. We miss you terribly Steve.

  • what a magic tune!. my hair is standing up.

  • Marriott -the epitomy of white trash rip

can just picture him hungover at 9 yrs old lol

  • Stunning!

  • No slouch on Harp, excellent vocals and guitar! What a performer!

  • I saw him LIVE, in Dallas, TX. two times! around 1973. He was a damn ball of fire that you could not stop...all the way to the end. One of the most dynamic rock artists I've ever seen.

  • @texasjohnnyboy I guess he was like that in everyday life, too. :) Always moving, talking....tons of energy.

  • @PeachWNK The guy was born a star. Small Faces was early on. Saw him when he was young & on fire & saw him do a 3rd show in Dallas (H. Pie) a few years later & it was not a pretty sight. The demise of The Pie was well on it's way. He got very upset at the tripple stacked amp that was given to him & he went over and kicked it very hard. The thing came crashing down on stage and it made horrible noise through the P.A.. He was, clearly, out of control & full of anger. A sad demise of a star

  • @texasjohnnyboy I'm reading his biography right now. It has a lot of insight into why he changed, and it makes sense. Still sad because he was extremely talented. He could have done anything he set his mind to.

  • @PeachWNK He was flat out one of the most dynamic front men I'd ever seen in a rock band. I have seen many, many, many. He could NOT be duplicated. He wasn't my personal favorite but he was in that top 3 percent for sure. What's the name of the biography?

  • @texasjohnnyboy "All Too Beautiful".....I had to get it from my library. I'm not sure if they still sell it from Amazon. He's definitely in my top 3. :)

  • @PeachWNK Who are the others in the top 3 ?

  • @texasjohnnyboy Hmmmm....well, since I'm on a Steve Marriott kick, I have to think. Probably Steven Tyler. Chris Cornell. I love Paul Rodgers, but he doesn't really have the charisma that the two Steve's have.

  • @PeachWNK I saw the early Aerosmith not long after the release of Toys in The Attic... that was a very viscious band... blew my mind. Tyler is heavy stuff. My all time favorite was the very unique, very talented, and artisitcally dynamic, early Ian Anderson from 1969-1972.

  • @texasjohnnyboy I've seen Aerosmith 4 times.....they were great every time. :) I have to admit...my college boyfriend was a Tull fan, but they are lost on me. Sorry!! BUT Ian has loads of charisma and talent, for sure!

  • I'm addicted to this song.

  • feel the music... Steve

  • it's only way to drink it ! with all the trendy versions of it now .. blah blah caramel, fat free peppermint , chai this mocha vanilla that.. just go eat a piece of fucking cake already !

  • really great, very powerfull

  • Dam he could sing

  • that might be one of the sickest god-damn things i have ever heard, sweet jesus!

  • Actually, Tina Turner wrote this song way back in 1972.

  • HOLY CRAP!! To be honest, as much as I love old music, I had never listened really well to Marriot...that "BLACK COFFEE!" at the beginning just blows you away...

  • hot damn that's so good!

  • Steve Marriott could sing the balls off anyone else.

  • One of the best and most soulful voices Rock & Roll has ever produced, a underated true legend

  • Soul on a roll, Steve had it!

  • love Steve Marriott, here at his best

  • Marriott sounds blacker than they do!

  • Saw them in March on,73 in Texas ,we each brought a bottle of champagne under our jackets and a small appetizer from Morocco .Splendid time had by all before the 'new normal" eh ?

  • love it , the "eat it"/'thunderbox" era , with the Blackberries on backing vocals , being my favourite Humble Pie music.

I've recently seen Clem Clempson live in London with Arthur Brown.

  • Good video.

  • Wow, black coffee, yaaaahhhh!

  • hail steve "the voice" marriott =)

  • i was 15 y , my mother died , i begann to hear those music, the music from these guys is still in me....

  • Oh hell yes!

  • can't get enough..... !!

  • Steve Marriott was the reason I loved ROCK in the 1970's. It wasn't until Bon Scott and AC/DC that anyone could match the raunchiness of his voice. A great Soul and rock singer who died way before his time!

  • WoooooooooW! Glad to see this back in better quality than ever! Thanks a lot!

  • Steve Marriott has been my favourite singer since 1966. He is the most versatile white soul/rock singer of his generation. Rip

  • @putojoevrsaalgpt66 I never realized what a catalogue of songs Steve Marriott had. The first time I heard, "I don't need no doctor" Live at the Filmore, I was an instant fan.

  • @mydogspet Thanks. You should listen to I believe to my soul/live by Humble Pie and also Tin Soldier and You need Loving by the Small Faces, not forgetting Soldier by Steve Marriott. Have a nice Xmas and a Happy New Year

  • @putojoevrsaalgpt66 Hi and thanks for the heads up. I appreciate the info, and I've been checking out more of Steve's work. It's been fun.
