Why is that most of these videos are ruined by the music? Real aviation enthusiast want to hear every detail of the aircraft itself. The sound of the old radials cranking up. The sound of the props cutting through the air as the wind blows. Perhaps the audio of the cockpit radio upon departure. Please keep it real. Just my 2 cents. Beautiful DC-3!

For folk who say it's nice to see a Dakota still flying, there are actually many, many still flying all around the world in all sorts of roles & many are still earning their keep ! I had assumed this was the one owned & restored by Delta themselves. It was beautifully done and they were absolutely fanatical about it. They flew it sparingly & actually didn't like to many people to even go inside it ! Folk had to put little cotton slipper things over their shoes if they did ! Is this the one ?

Back in the mid 90s I worked for a freight company and I loaded/unloaded several of them. Growing up around 1 my dad worked on in the Army and hearing his stories about the old Gooneybird it was extremely cool. I was going to take a ride to canada and back on one, but schedule never worked out.

I agree! The "music" is awful, just the type of thing high school  music teachers get excited about. There is an awesome YouTube video of a TWA Super G Constellation which is completely ruined by godawful music!

I just put the music on there because I figured most would be annoyed by the engine sounds. Although I love the sound myself.

That is the company. They are located in Orlando. I don't know why they have the DC-3 but it is owned/leased by them.

Maybe you can send them an email and find out why they have/had this DC-3.

It may have been for promotional reasons, although that sounds a bit expensive but then again the school doesn't look cheap.

A company call "Full Sail" in Orlando, Florida has (or had) a DC-3 that was fully refurbished and I believe the interior was brought up to modern standards. I may be wrong about the interior, since I have never seen the inside myself.

The outside was extremely beautiful and highly polished.

I have fond memories of flying in a Panagra DC-3 in Ecuador South America when I was a kid. It was definitely an adventure weaving through the Andes mountains between Quito and Guayaquil.
