@n77gh77 Shifting without the clutch doesn't make you a good driver, it just means you're gonna be replacing your gearbox very soon. Why do you think manuals have clutches in the first place? Even professional racers use the clutch. It's there for a reason.

and then when shifting to gear to release the gas step on the clutch shift to the 2nd release the clutch gently again and then step on the gas not not so hard again. do the shifting when you reached about 2500-3000 rpm. get it?

you can also do this while stopping is that put the gear in neutral then break all the way so that way your can will not stall for example, stopping at a stop sign or the red light then put in 1st gear and go go go lolzzz..!!!

Just let off the clutch a bit and it will go within idle rotation per minute. In fact, it's slow but, you can lift off the clutch all the way by building up the speed eventually.

Well, in bad weather conditions, when roads are slick and slippery, down shifting reduces speed by a lot. Most automatic cars today either have L, for low, or 3, 2, and 1. If it's L, that could just drop down to 1st, and if you are going too fast, you could take the RPM's to the red line. If you have 3, 2, and 1 then it's as safe as Manual.
Been driving standard for 6 months now :D Intersections on hills to this day can give me problems though.

i have to learn how to drive a standard myself, so that next time I am in Austria I can drive one of my relatives car instead of relying on them to drive me around because they (in Europe) all have standard transmission car.

Well, in bad weather conditions, when roads are slick and slippery, down shifting reduces speed by a lot. Most automatic cars today either have L, for low, or 3, 2, and 1. If it's L, that could just drop down to 1st, and if you are going too fast, you could take the RPM's to the red line. If you have 3, 2, and 1 then it's as safe as Manual.
