Ultralight Glider

At 135 pounds empty, it qualified as a Part 103 ultralight glider and no airworthiness certificate was required.

Everything came from Lowes... cheap pine for the fuselage, aluminum conduit spars for the wings, 2" insulation foam for the ribs, heat-shrink plastic (window insulation) for covering, etc. Most of the design work took place on a dry erase board and we only spent a couple weeks on the project from start to finish. While the BUG is more expensive, it's a much better glider and it will last. The SB-1 ended up in a dumpster after a handful of flying sessions.

Sorry, there are no plans for this glider. If you do a google search, you can find plans online for the BUG (Basic Ultralight Glider). It's a little more expensive to build but a much better glider.
