this was 1953. Bogie only appeared on TV twice in his legendary career and this was one of them. and its by far and away the best. i have a VHS of this episode and i love watching it. notice how cleverly they worked a plug for the sponsor,Lucky Strike into the sketch, necessary because this was live TV and on live TV you could'nt stop in the middle of a sketch to show a commercial, would've ruined the continuity of the sketch.
Woman (singing): "I'm walking behind you--!"
Detective: "Turn that thing off!"
LOL!! =)

This is terrific--I've never seen this before.
What do you think--1954?
Another reason to love Jack Benny-- If I needed one.
"Beat The Devil"--1953--I was off a bit.
Many thanks marilynmortician.

Loved Bogie's rendition of the Lucky Strikes jingle! I also got a big laugh out of the "curly-headed guy" bit.
