in order to alter the pitch of the logo, you also have to lower the speed if you want to do it the cheap way. the opposite is true as well.

I think it sometimes refreshes the way music sounds, so if you've heard something again and again to the point where the appeal you first had for it is gone, lowering or raising the pitch can make it sound new and refreshing again.

High pitched ones occur when the music is being played in a fashion different from that in which it was recorded and becomes slightly 'sharp.' Low pitched ones occur when the music is played rather more slowly than it should be.
