'Purpose' implies directed action on the part of some object: a hammer's purpose is to hit nails, a train's purpose is to carry passengers and cargo to some destination, etc. But moments aren't actions in this way, they are passive experiences we reflect upon. Thus it doesn't really make sense to speak about "moments" being the "purpose of life" since moments aren't FOR anything.

Just as much as you can't control when your heart beats, the processes of digestion in your stomach and intestines, or the growth of your hair and nails it doesn't really seem to be the case that you can "control" what your mind does. I doubt that there is anyone in existence that can "handle any situation with ease."

It's possible. The way you see that is with people who have lived 30 years with AIDS and have a very positive way of thinking, compared to someone who is negative and dies within 10 years. Some of that is due to new and better drugs too, but in the early years you could see the difference in patients more profoundly.

Actually, in the 90s, a hospital in Atlanta, GA made a breakthrough discovery that if they induced Hyperthermia (not hypothermia) in an AIDS patient, it completely eliminated all traces of the AIDS virus... it is of no surprise that after that breakthrough was broadcast, that hospital's licence was revoked. But definately, the mind could do it also... perhaps as good or more effectively than inducing hyperthermia.... Dr. Bruce Lipton's research should be spread and spoken aloud everywhere.

I so agree with ninjayang. But I also say It is our minds and our hearts that heal. That's why there is no 100% success of any drug or operation. Some people survive some people don't. Some people heal faster than others. Why do some people who smoke cigarettes die from lung cancer after only a few years of smoking and then a lady in France, who has smoked about a pack a day since she was a young adult, dies at the age 120 from old age not cancer?

Me too. But, believing the mind is in complete 100% control only goes so far. There is a limit where the mind will let go and you will succumb to certain things. Don't get me wrong, for a generally healthy person there is no reason to visit the doctor. If you have pain, use the power of your thoughts to heal and you have to believe. Else, there is no point in trying. One must have faith in themselves and give the mind a chance to help the body recover.

I am a type 1 diabetic. I believe in the power of the mind to heal but If I choose to throw away my insulin that would not be a wise thing to do. However, I believe that my positive attitude combined with insulin thearpy has helped me to have excellent control over my blood sugar levels.

Do you think there are any natural remedies when combined with the power of your own belief and guidance of the body by the mind, would allow you to take yourself off of insulin? I have heard that cinnamon and coffee do an excellent job of regulating blood sugar levels. I'm just wondering what you think.

I think that taking myself off insulin would not be wise. However, I do believe that the medicine combined with my positive believe and attitude are helping me to stay healthy. I think that having a positive attitude as much a part of my treatment as the insulin.

Hey, if you're interested search for "baba ramdev" He teaches certain breathing techniques which are known to cure many diseases including diabetes. Many diabetics have claimed that their depedence on insulin reduced over a period of time and in some cases, some diabetics have been completely CURED of diabetes. Try it if you want. I mean there is nothing to lose, those breathing techniques are quite easy to do for anyone of any age. If it shows results for you then good otherwise...tc

@phlewis86 - i would advise dietary changes as well.. ! remember all veg/fruit, grains, etc are all carbs...! We are taught that these things are great for us and saturated fats, meat and eggs are bad for us, when infact it is the other way round..!

Because your perception is : I need insulin. so your body needs insulin. Change totally your perception. I mean totally believe that your body can live without the insulin.
