It's a rocket launch from Vandenberg AFB. The reason it does not go "Up" is that these launches are not directly up - there'd be no point to that. It travels in an arc to get into orbit or to the target. This may be a satellite launch or a ballistic missile test launch. They've been launching a number of missiles recently as part of the missile defense tests. They shoot them down over the pacific.
This is (100% sure) a rocket launch from Vandenberg AFB. Playa Del Rey is an excellent place to view these launches. The reason the exhaust trail is glowing? It's a rocket launch from Vandenberg AFB. The reason it does not go "Up" is that these launches are not directly up - there'd be no point to that. It travels in an arc to get into orbit or to the target. This may be a satellite launch or a ballistic missile test launch. They've been launching a number of missiles recently as part of the missile defense tests. They shoot them down over the pacific.

This is (100% sure) a rocket launch from Vandenberg AFB. Playa Del Rey is an excellent place to view these launches. The reason the exhaust trail is glowing? It is 50 miles above the surface of the Pacific and is reflecting light from the sun which set maybe 30 minutes before this. This is a beautiful launch.

I have never seen anything like it!? (well one almost like it taken I think, in Mexico?) where there was a hole in the space (worm hole??) it opened and closed...but you dont see too many videos like this, great thanks for sharing. (I really dont think it is weather-related effect or normal at all or we'd have seen more of these)!

A rocket's trajectory and propulsion would not allow it to slow down nor would it allow the rocket to travel in a spiral across the sky at low velocity. We can CLEARLY see a craft come out of something that looks like a wormhole in front of our eyes and we still can't believe. We call it a rocket. While the sun has set on ground below, taking earth's curvature into account and that the rocket is so high up its contrail is still lit by daylight and appears to be glowing against the sky.
The object that flies out as soon as the cotrail ends is a stage of a rocket that has reached orbit.
