he estimated the speed and direction. when the enemy moved in a straight line, that's when he hooked. hooks before that, will be impossible.

hooks was nice especially with enchantress top lane, but they're noobs where's the ward i say you killing lina and enigma over and over again...basic thing about fighting pudge is to put observer wards in a place you suspect pudge would hook like the cliff near tower in mid...but overall nice hooks
