  • keith richards dice , todo el mundo queria ser como elvis ,diablos yo queria ser como scotty moore,,

  • sweet...:)

  • I love Mr. Moore's tone on this!

  • Yeah!!!!

  • Love Clapton.I constantly watch Cream at the Albert Hall 2005 reunion,in HD.Incredible sound and picture.Love Badge and Crossroads.which we've recently started doing in my band.Love Scotty Moores early solos with Elvis too.

  • Scotty moore is a pioneer of rock and roll and real bad ass guitar player. I get chills watching this video.

  • GUITAR TONE.

    BLEEDING GUITAR TONE.

Scotty Moore, later on Leslie West. The Kings of the Gibson sound.

  • ERIC CLAP - TUNE ON THE ELFIS PARSLEY CHANNEL !

  • Moore may have defined the Elvis sound, but it sure as hell wasn't Clapton that defined his vocals! And by the way, why is it that any jerk who points the "haters" finger always needs lessons in rudimentary English?

  • When was this done?

  • all u haters out there tht dont like this vid u better think again because they have worked on this music and the ppl who made the vid they did alot too!

  • I thought Arthur Crudup wrote this?

  • If Elvis was still around, no doubt he could still pull it off at 76. And 75-year-old women would still swoon and toss their Depends up onto the stage.

  • what concert is that???? there is a record of it????

  • Thanks for posting. FYI, the record came out in 954, not 56.

  • The Godfather of Rockabilly Guitar-Scotty Moore.

  • imagine rocking it at that age me wish

  • Just beautiful.

  • fun fun fun

  • it's not Eric's tune...

  • It's not about the influence of Elvis, it's about the music. Clapton plays Music, not just some small facet of it.

  • This all Scotty's Guitar and the Slap Bass

  • Arthur Crudup - that's alright ,is the original the one Elvis was listening too..... check it out

  • Clapton fuckin' lucky.

  • Anyone know if Clapton is still a "Good Old Enoch" fan?

  • do not forget this music was actually covered by elvis as well... the song is originally by arthur crudup.

  • Wow a blues legend playin some rockibilly, great!

  • Unsuitable vocals Eric spoils the impression. We had to just play, but not sing. Or to invite for vocals Joe Cocker or Mark Knopfler. But still well done!

  • white boys playing blues:P

  • @hujaqaa Is that a racist remark?

  • @hujaqaa Is that a bit of prejudice creeping in there? Wasn't Elvis white?

  • @shakeypitt ya no i was just trying to put one joke or other here..black white brown..everyone loves blues..even red purple and whatever colours!:P

  • @hujaqaa ...been doin it for many years, and doin it well

  • Hey Peavy Amps Cool! Scottie was good then and now. And what a cool song.

Love the sound of the Stand Up Bass. Very Nice Indeed.

  • Clapton should consider himself lucky to play with Scotty Moore.... I am sure he does.

  • One M0:00re Time

  • Check out Johnny Hiland's version of this, or anything else. I'm 56, have played guitar professionally since the mid '70's, and I don't think I've ever seen a guitarist more talented and, especially versatile, than Johnny. He's amazing, and if you're not listening to him, you're missing out on one of the greatest guitar players of our lifetimes.

  • I'm not sure who's guitar I like more!! Scotty's Gibson Chet Atkins or Eric's Martin OM-45 Deluxe. Both are great guitars, worthy of such great guitarists!!

  • Scotty is so relaxed. I'd be a wreck. "Crap! I'm playing LEAD GUITAR for Eric Clapton!" But I guess he played for Elvis. Made great strides for guitarists everywhere. Great vid!!

  • @TheDG1973 You've got it the wrong way round - it's really EC who must ahve been thinking "Shit! Here I am playing with Scotty Moore!' Without Scotty, there'd possibly never have been any Eric Claptons or any of the R&R guitarists who came after him, at least not in the form we know.

  • What year was this?.... cos Scotty still good.

  • Eric Clapton seems to get better with age.

  • Behold the power of the Peavey Bandit! :)

  • I love Clapton. BUT no one does it like Big Boy Crudup. That's soul with real delta blues. Everything else is a copy of a copy. True about most covers. Just my opinion. Thank goodness for artists with original talent like Crudup, Clapton, etc. Music lives on!

  • Elvis. Scotty. Bill. The Blue Moon Boys. Nothing else to say...

  • Eric Clapton doing "Rockabilly" - Its like Dolly Parton trying to do Rap.

  • @V8Deuce Yeah he's such an ass paying homage to those that inspired his love of music. Truly pathetic.

  • @V8Deuce That's a Blues style Rockabilly and the last time I heard, Clapton does some pretty good blues! And, your analogy is ridiculous.

  • scotty is so cool...

  • Elvis stole rock and roll from the black artist at that time, CHUCK BERRY IS THE ACTUAL KING AND CREATOR OF ROCK AND ROLL, fuck elvis he aint shit

  • @TheLodilodimahony Hey get with the program, RCA Victor stole it from the black artists. Elvis sold millions of records, you ain't shit.

  • @TheLodilodimahony You aren't much of an observer. No one stole anything - everything is an evolution from what came before. I wonder what you really know about the music business.

  • @TheLodilodimahony ...chuck berry? there were several black AND white artists before chuck berry, so what you mean? Chuck Berry released his first single in 1955...Elvis released his first single in 1954. So please explain how Elvis stole from Chuck Berry? Elvis didn't even know who the hell Chuck Berry was in 1954. If it weren't for Elvis guys like Chuck Berry wouldn't have even achieved the level of appreciation they eventually did.

  • this is the way that solo should be played...only the master Scotty Moore makes this the real deal!!!

  • I got meet Scotty Moore at a guitar show in Tulsa. He was a nice guy but he would'nt sign my Takamine guitar. He said he could'nt because of contractual reason's. Whatever that mean's. But i was still honored to meet him just the same.

  • Pete Pritchard played bass for legendary British R n R band The Flying Saucers in the 70s/80s. Saw them supporting Bill Haley in 76.

  • But scotty did a good job of it, what a legend.

  • Clapton did a bad job of that, elvis can do a better job of it now and he's dead, no disrespect to Clapton. This is the song that created rock and roll, one of the best songs ever made, but only elvis could ever sing it to the full extent it deserves.

  • @360isbest1 "elvis can do a better job of it now and he's dead, no disrespect to Clapton..." No disrespect to Clapton? Great quote - made me laugh!

  • Scotty sounds great, Clapton does OK, but it just shows you how great the King was!

  • scotty just had to show up that damn up and coming punk kid eric... LMAO.

  • Was privileged to see Scotty in concert a few years back at the Swindon Arts Centre! Got a signed CD cover too!

  • Complete confidance by all those involved!! Is this from a concert....and is a CD available of the whole show???? would love to have a copy...

  • Great song

  • @PeterPug007 The original by Arthur Crudup did have drums in it. But i do agree, a great drummer has to have restraint.

  • The old man is in perfect time-flawless.

  • Look at that great GIBSON guitar Scotty´s playing. ´ haven´t seen a model with the read marks on the upper side of the fretboard ´til now. Does anyone know what kind of model this is ? Is it a custom made (fretboard)? ´d be glad to know....

  • scooooooooooootyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!! Grande

  • N o Mention of Arthur Crudup that's outrageous this is bullshit

  • Yeeeeeeeeeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...=)

  • very spectacular musicians

  • Great job

  • who put those peaveys on stage?! blegh!

  • Wow! Will Elvis's influence ever die? Probably not. This was alot of fun to watch.

  • @LynchColl94

actually its the influence of Arthur Crudup.

  • @Oerti2 really? I didn't know that Scotty Moore played guitar for Arthur Crudup? Get real! No one today would know that song had Elvis not recorded it. I'm fine with being a "purist" but you gotta have some common sense.

  • @LynchColl94

I just wanted to clarify that the respect should go to the man who composed this great song.

But you're right with your statement, I know what you are sayin'!

  • @Oerti2 its all good!

  • @LynchColl94 Oh come on fuck Elvis: this is the Scotty Moore show all the way. Elvis could have been ANY hick with a decent voice.

  • @sonicdeath10 Lets see...3 grammys for gospel music, songs like "Hurt", "Its now or Never", "Just Pretend"...I think Elvis was more than a "hick with a decent voice." And it is also true that had it not been for Elvis, neither of those men would have been on that stage that night.

  • @LynchColl94 true..awesome vid but scotty moore basically WAS the sound of Elvis.

  • @ForeverMan91 yes,he was.......SUN STUDIO 1954-56;he with DJ.Fontana= and as all know, was originally Rockabilly=Awesome music they made those days+ELVIS was incredible Vocalist, pure singing voice, changed rhythm everytime, testing different versions-heard them all, and Scotty Followed with unique style as brilliant guitarist, when Elvis was improvising .......this is just my opinion-Thanks for sharing this version, love it!

  • No, true there were no drums in the original and many of the rockabilly hits of the day either. However some drummers sit back and play tastefully like this one...while others insist on bashing away and ruining the feel.

It all depends on the musicians and not necessarily the instruments!! ;)

  • No drums in the original cut.

  • Two great legends together .... Clapton follows the rules wonderfully .. Scotty Moore kind of made them up in the first place .. Fabulous treat !!!

  • "that felt pretty good" listening to this.

  • Que du Plaisir , merci à la personne qui m'a envoyé ce partage et à gfgfm pour ll'ajout

    Rock'N Kisses

    Nathalie

  • @frankie28web why do you have to be such a fucking asshole? you should be thankful that we are allowed the opportunity to see 2 legends preform together and all you want to do is be a arrogant ass and say a stupid thing like"oh clapton should go sell insurance blah blah blah" both of them are legends in there own right. open your mind and grow the fuck up!

  • clapton should finally stop performing and sell insurances or work as a counter clerk. go to see elvis performing this song an you know what i mean...

    clapton is so damn overrated.

  • @frankie28web Does God need to sell insurances??

  • @vierdiez Lol Indeed!

  • not bad, but they should pick up the tempo just a bit - it sounds a little tired - especially if you listen to EP do the same song and then immediately come here.

  • @houstonsrb Yes, Clapton has become a fair singer but will never be Elvis, and Scotty is not 30 anymore. Still, It's wonderful to see them play

  • Thank you, thenk you, thank tou !!!!!! Scotty. From Italy

  • Love ya Scotty ...Da Man !!!

  • I guess when your busy earning a living inventing rock & roll you don't have time or the need to nerd off in a room practicing 20 hours a day.

  • is great .......Thats all right

  • *****

  • wouldnt be so bad if clapton could sing!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @melbournelee claptn is god as you know

  • @melbournelee

Oh c'mon, he's not that bad.

  • two of thee greatest musicians of all time that changed music history forever....what an honor to watch

  • Aw, he played the first part of the solo a half step flat. Oh, well, he's like 80-something.

  • Great to see this ,thanks for sharing.

  • Comment removed

  • clapton IS GOD

  • Does anyone know what kind of guitar Clapton is playing I have one that looks just like it it was custom made by Antonisai in Viet Nam

  • @steveisler Martin. Probably one of his signature models.

  • The day that Elvis recorded That's all right (was it july 4th 1954?) , Scotty probably packed his guitar and waved Elvis goodbye, maybe he ate something at the hamburguer bar around the corner thinking, we've just recorded another song, these two guys and me, just another song and this guy from Tupelo, he's good. But it wasn't "another song", was it?

  • Scotty Moore is amazing!!!

  • wow scotty will always be linked to the king,in their early days when Elvis wasn't even a prince yet...hahaha...what great memories...always get tearful when I see him and bill black...thanks for the memories friend...

  • great video.. scotty moore is still so great.!!

  • this is classic " ) original guitarist of the "king of rock"

  • What kind of guitar is Scotty playing?

  • @skatermgee I think it's a Gibson Super 400.

  • Bitchin'!

  • Does anybody know what year this was recorded?

  • @DailyBrusher 1954

  • @boki77

Thanks! But I meant this video, not the original tune!

  • I love the way calpton always give much respect to the "old" guitar players....

    thats class

  • Clapton has alway been a better Singer than a Gtr Player

  • @terzolilu there is some validity to this... but if you watch clapton really in the groove his guitar playing his unbelievable. He can navigate the fret board better than anyone I've seen... mainly because of the number of years he's played!

  • @terzolilu Is that a joke...Clapton is ranked as one of the top 5 guitar players of all time.

  • Leave it to Eric to do a class performance of one of the rooots of RNR. I love the tune and Eric. Scotty is just above words! What a genius!

  • this is good. But, idk , it's missing that certain ... pzazz..that RAR .. okay, i dont know if you get me

  • whats the guitar that scotty uses

  • Love it!

  • Clapton sings this better than Elvis. Not as good as Big Bill Boonzy though

  • Great, great, great Scotty! One of the most important guitar player ever.

  • this sucks balls...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzyawn

  • You can really hear the Scotty Moore influence in George Harrison's early Beatle's work!

  • Keep in mind (as mandaltby points out) Scotty is the (or one of) the originators of this sound. As long as he's alive and pickin', he's the connection with the beginning of rock and roll. Why ask him to play something else?

  • what is it all about scotty moore, he ain´t a badass guitar player..very stiff and playing the same stuff over and over again...Elvis band was a shitty band, there were many other bands that really kicked ass but not them..

  • @towser06 Moore is OK, certainly not in the top tier of the guitarists of that day though. And his 60s solo records are just dull MOR stuff. I think Bill Black was pretty awesome though.

  • Yeah! Scotty F'in' Moore...Tasty, Badass guitar hero. Might have a little somethin to do w/ Elvis' huge success?

  • sweet Peavey stack.

  • Pretty damn good! What broadcast is this from?

  • Very GREAT!!!!

  • First heard this in 1958.

Wish Elvis were still around to do this.

Anyway, well done Scotty and Eric.

  • Elvis' guitarist during his great early period. Scotty Moore was one of the true pioneers of rock guitar. You can hear his influence in so many other performers.

  • scotty is probably the most underrated guitar player, he influenced so much. How many guys started playing the guitar when they first heard an Elvis record

  • @mandaltby This guy started it all.

  • @mandaltby slash and angus young are the most overrated guitar players

  • Its amazing to see Scotty play, probably the most underrated guitar player of all time.

He was the way all of us first hears rock and roll.

  • clapton is no elvis

  • @prkrmk you're no wrong and elvis was no clapton :)

  • Scotty Moore was the magic behind Elvis Presley's sound. Scotty Moore is an absolute LEGEND. One of the most important men in the history of Rock Music.

  • man scotty can still play the hell outta the guitar! :D

  • Eric is a God on guitar, no doubt, but I feel he's overlooked as a singer. He's just a terrific vocalist.

  • @eteachout Agree, Eric is a great singer and writer and IMHO the guitar playing can sometimes get in the way.

  • could you imagine being scotty moores grandson and like have him teach you how to play guitar, i always wished one of my relatives was like a huge old time musician!

  • First rock n' roll song ever. Scotty Moore, legend.

  • @sunrecords56 ever hear the vaersion of this the beatles did?

  • Get it Scotty!

  • I Bet Eric Clapton could play Led Electric Guitar and Sing at the Same Time on this Song. Haha.

  • You've got lots to learn about Scotty Moore my friend.

  • Well Eric probably could ya know.

  • Yes Clapton is a god. A real guitar hero

  • @atcaleb Oh Yeah, I agree with you.

  • Back in the fifties - that's the 1950's when records were big fragile things that whizzed round at 78rpm - I played Scotty's solo on Baby Let's Play House till it wore a hole right through. I doubt very much that there would have been a world famous Elvis without this fabulous guitarist to kick start his career at Sun. His guitar work on Tryin To Get To You has the punch and sound of a full orchestra.

  • God bless Elvis,Scotty and Bill.Rockabilly for Ever.FRom Vigo ,Spain.

  • Good to see Eric back doing blues/rockabilly. Comparisons with Elvis don't work - even Eric would say he isn't the best vocalist in the world. jack Bruce did the majority of the vocals with Cream.

Always loved the tune and thought that Elvis was never better than doing this type of stuff.

  • Scotty Moore is the man.

  • . great tune. this is why rock is still alive and well.

  • The original song is done by Albert "Big Boy" Crudup.

  • Its "Arthur Crudup"

  • @RWL4RD Hell no !

    Scotty wrote this song...

  • Arthur Crudup wrote the song in the '40s. Elvis heard it on a jukebox and then recorded the son as well as several others from Arthur Crudup.

  • Arthur Crudp is best known outside blues circles for writing songs later covered by Elvis Presley and dozens of other artists, such as "That's All Right" (1946)[1], "My Baby Left Me" and "So Glad You're Mine."

  • @RWL4RD Oh yeah you're right sorry...

I know that Elvis is famous thanks to Scotty Moore, and Scotty wrote many songs for Elvis...

I Always thought that "That's alright mamma" was one of them.

  • @RWL4RD Thanks for the information by the way.

  • make that Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup

  • click on the elvis version on the right (4th one down). that's how it's done. as much as i like clapton there's not enough urgency in this version

  • Elvis has lost the soul of Rock n Roll when he left SUN RECORDS. God bless Jerry Lee, Buddy, Eddie, Gene, Chuck, Bo, Roy and Bill.

  • there is only one king of rock,n,roll and that's elvis not chuck or roy do you think they called him the king of rock,n,roll for no reason

  • Eric looks like he could be the bloke from "Friends'" dad! ha
