Your vega's need more power- your amp is clipping and it is distorting. That sound isnt the speaker hitting hard- it is distorting from the amp clipping. No reciever has enough power for that speaker. Cool hint, buy a concert pro audio amp from Crown, QSC, Phonic, ect to get one for less than $400. I have a Phonic that pushes 1200W RMS x2 @ 2ohms pushing my LS12 CV speakers...It sounds clearer, louder, deeper and hits truly harder than yours. That shouldn't be the case.

For better bass and less distortion put them on some feet either spikes or cones. Never ever put speakers directly on the floor it actually ruins the bass. Also they will stay more in place :)
