It can get difficult but is pretty damn fun. Has some kind of co op though I've yet to try it.

If publishers can sell their game at $60, they obviously will not change the price. Just because you know 2-3 people who have bought it at $30 doesn't mean it reflects reality at a larger scale.

1) I have never ever in my life bought a video game in a store
2) I have played almost every game that caught my attention(and that's most of the time I spent in this form of existence)
3) I worked on a game development, and I worked for free
4)My children will never ever buy video games, and will probably spend most of their lives playing them
5) Consoles are a censorship on gaming evolution. Flashy graphics, simple programing, its consumer is the "common man".

Maybe some of these prices can't be changed. Perhaps it's industry standard to sell new games at $60.
So companies that make crappy games and sell them for $60 know they won't sell as many but will still make a profit so the shareholders don't care.
Also when you think about all the money that goes into keeping servers online for multiplayer for a few year, it starts costing a lot.

nope. this is about pricing games appropriately out-of-the-gate. Some games you'll pay this strange "industry standard" for. Most, no one will and they just get traded used over and over cause no one would ever pay $60 for most of these horrible games.

But seriously, I don't think it's that easy. I don't know how much Saints Row 2 sold and I don't know how good it is. But I think they're always enough people that will buy the game for 60$ just because they are stupid, have too much money or can't wait to play the game. So selling it for 30$ at the release would be stupid.
Of course, there are people who will consider to boy the game if it would be cheaper, so after a while you just lower the price.

My money hasnt been able to keep up with all the latest releases.
Luckily I have 2 new games to review to get me out of that slump, Star trek online and heavy rain.

If you think the prices for games in Canada/America (Where ever you live, I'm not 100%) are bad, try living here in Australia. Regardless of the strength of our dollar, the prices of our games will always be ridiculously overpriced.

Not complaining about something that obviously will not change because of two simple concepts called Supply & Demand and the relationship between them.
If publishers can sell their game at $60, they obviously will not change the price. Just because you know 2-3 people who have bought it at $30 doesn't mean it reflects reality at a larger scale.
Things are not going to change just because you want them to. You have to consider other factors.
