This tune led me to the beautiful music of the Corries. This is the most stunning video of this song. There aren't enough words to describe the treasured music of Roy and Ronnie. Thank you so, so much for every tune you have created.
words cannot describe songs as beautiful as this, has anyone noticed nobody is able to replace the likes of the corries, dubliners, luke kelly etc etc, thank you to all who take the time to upload these songs
Scottish born, this is one of my favorites. My brother used to sing and play this for me. Living and working in the Ilse of Mull, Tobermory, this song brings back a feast of memories. So glad I can live and enjoy those memories through this song again. Sue in Éire.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written; and sung and played by one of the best musical groups who've ever existed! Thanks for uploading this one! :+)
My older brother Dave was into the Corries back in the 70's; I was more "Sun Records" but this song totally captivated me from my first hearing. It remains that magical thing, profoundly powerful, beautiful music.
This song is magic, away back in the early 1950s this song was the most requested on the Irish radio station Radio Eireann, then sung by the late Brendan O`Dowda.
I have to say this recording by The Corries is my all time favourite folk song.
Where is the "love" button?

Alas, I think there are none to replace the Corries.
And those of us left behind must be content, as much as we can be, by such recordings as these. Reminds me of Tolkien's
"Where now the horse and the rider? where is the horn that was blowing?
Where is the helm and the hauberk and the bright hair flowing?
Where is the hand on the harp-string, and the red fire glowing?
Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing?
They have passed like rain on the mountain...
