I don't see what they don't offer this to go up against the V8 pony cars. I am sure it won't be long before people rip out the stock crummy motors and put LSXs under the hood. It would make for a pretty fun toy :)

@desert1able I own a Genesis 3.8 R-Spec and my friend has a 2004 Z06 Vette which is a little more powerful that the current C6 vettes out there, I can't corner NEARLY as well as him. Nevermind raw power the Vette's suspension, lower CoG and wider stance dominate the GenCoupe in a corner... don't get me wrong, I love my car to death-- but a Corvette is just another class of car altogether. For Hyundai to go after them would require a whole new car, not just a new engine.

@ShinLa83 that 2004 Z06 was less than my Genesis was... used Vettes aren't as pricey as people think they are.

The Genesis is a great car, I love it. But a Vette is simply another class of car. Like a Lambo, Ferrari, Viper, etc. The GenCoupe isn't in that class. V6 Mustang, V6 Charger, V6 Camero... yes, I'd rather have the GenCoupe and I think the GenCoupe is better than those, hands down.

@PITguy37 A used vette might not be pricey, but a used Genesis is even less pricier. They aren't in the same class, it's like comparing Jeremy Lin to Dwight Howard... not in the same position. Genesis is V6 and vettes are V8, plus the price for brand new in comparison is like $20k more for a vette. Ask Hyundai to fit a tau v8 or come up with better v8 then it'll compare for that matched price, if not... you get a v6

@ShinLa83 I agree they aren't in the same class. Even if you have the V8 and power on paper to compare it to a Vette it still isn't in the class. Look at the GT500 or whatever the heck the tuned Camero is that has a tone of hp. It doesn't compare to a car of the Vette's level-- these cars are Ferrari, Viper, Lambo, Porsche 911 GT3, , GTR, R8, etc. Camero, Mustang, and Genesis will not be in this group until there is a serious redesign effort. But that's okay... I don't want a Vette.

@ShinLa83 I think the 5.0 GenCoupe R-Spec would be a better match up against an SRT Charger, or the Mustang 5.0 or even the Camero SS... but like I said, the Corvette is simply out of reach, purely from a mechanical standpoint.

@MegaFireserpent, They are probably not building it because over here in SK there is no market for it. The traffic in Seoul and most cities suck. Sitting in traffic for 3 hours in a V8 is only for the rich over here. There is no place to open it up and drive. Even the highways outside the city are packed everyday. They would have to make a substantial investment to change over this car into a production vehicle and the return would be minimall, even globally. This car is awesome but ₩ ₩ bill yo.
