  • Is that U2? FAIL!

  • Why do idiots add music to videos? Ever heard of listening to the dialogue?

  • I don't know if that was U2 or not. Either way, U2 sucks and so does that song.

  • I couldn't hear a fucking thing that was said. I don't know if this video is PRO Dawkins or ANTI Dawkins.

  • Face palm for the music =(

  • All I heard was music and something in the background that sounded like someone talking.

If what they're saying is important, then STOP THE MUSIC.

  • I think it's funny that you used U2 for your background music considering that their music is heavily influenced by the Christian faith - i.e. Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Yahweh, When Love Comes to Town, etc. I could see Bono getting up and walking out of this lecture too.

  • Why did you put music on top of this?

  • He did a great job for standing up for what he believes in.

The rest of these people are quite UN-American for destroying the constitutional right of free speech - they're coming to think like communists.

PS: "I'm an atheist with respect to the Judeo-Christian God, because there is not a shred of EVIDENCE in favor of the Judeo-Christian God."

    ~ Richard Dawkins

...Dawkins, that's because you have not visited my channel.

  • @Eye2EyeIIIV Would you give speaking time to someone saying that our current theories on how humans are born is wrong and we should embrace the stork theory instead?

  • @Eye2EyeIIIV It was more american for the protester to yell "your and fraud" and "burn in hell"? Give me a break, he was nothing but a spectacle that had nothing intelligent to add to the conversation.

  • @Eye2EyeIIIV I did, and still there's no evidence. There's just the ranting of a few televangelists. And before you judge communism, go and read a little about what it actually is.

The right of free speech does not mean u can jump around and interrupt someone while he's talking (like your "hero" in the video did). If he wanted to say his mind, then he would do so with proper logic. Not by shouting. He was the one who destroyed the right of free speech of dawkins.

  • @Eye2EyeIIIV

seeing as you have no idea what communism is whatsoever (you might as well claim that coca cola is a type of flower, the two are completely unrelated), which probably means that you are a stupid redneck american idiot, and you care so much about your cawnstitutional (that's probably how you pronounce it) rights that you allow idiocy to thrive for no good reason, I will take a wild guess that your 'proof' of god is no different from the usual idiotic christian channels.

  • @Eye2EyeIIIV

I was just want to add a footnote, your immense ignorance of what communism really stands for is so incredibly obvious I can scarcely think of an appropriate adjective for it...Odious, that will do nicely.

Read Marx's works, then get back to us.

  • Music fail

  • U2 spoils it. Unnecessary.

  • Yes, Professor Dawkins stood up against the wacko. That was great !!

  • @MrJohnnyrace If by stood up against you mean had security pull him out and then laughed at his beliefs well then I guess that makes Dawkins hero-of-the-day..pfft..All you atheists do is misinterpret and Go with the "He's Crazy! Don't believe him!"

You've never actually made people "Wake-up" as you say you just give them more questions- most atheists are bigger idiots then the religions that they try to defraud.... Dawkins is actually one of the more intelligent ones, but also kindofadick...

  • @Markula4O4O We trust things like science. Not, the fairy tale books of religion. Why would anyone believe in a talking snake and other non real fables? Do you believe in talking snakes and Earth only being 6000 years old?? Please say you dont.

  • @MrJohnnyrace I didn't say what my beliefs are, in-comment. I was Raised a Catholic( and yes as a child I did believe the stories of the books in the Bible- hence its easy for one of that mindset to be controlled i.e. Christianity lolz)but I have my own spiritual beliefs in a Supreme creator. I do not endorse nor defame creationism and I do not endorse nor defame evolution( and I say the latter is more likely, but whose to say Adam and Eve weren't directly related to the Bonobos apes?)

  • @Markula4O4O I dont believe in Adam and Eve. Or a creator. I am a firm believer in evolution.

  • @MrJohnnyrace good for you

  • @wowpapa he didn't stand up for anything. he voluntarily left the auditorium. Jesus would be disappointed

  • You are really awesome

  • Pls see documentary video at youtube An old bible found in Palestine, searching for the earliest Christian document which was the key to understanding Jesus pbuh original message.

  • dude what the hell were you thinking adding music? i was trying to hear what people were saying and all i heard was freakin bono's nails on a chalkboard vocals

  • It's very sad that 64% of Americans believe that Noah's Ark was real. Out of a list of more than 30 industrialized countries, only Turkey has a lower percentage of people accepting evolution than the United States has.

  • @monsterquestions Please tell me that isn't true.

  • remove music track = better video

  • Sad to see a christian behaving so unchristianlike.

But I guess we who do not believe in a god should say thanx. He probably gave Dawkins lecture a deacent boost acting like this.

If people are secure in their bilieves it should not be this easy to rock their boat.

  • Watch the Q & A session on my channel.

  • No. Music. Track. Please.

  • Usually Dawkins is the smartest guy in the room, but in Oklahoma he's the smartest guy in the state.

  • Don't kick the teeth of Oklahoma too quickly. He received nothing but support from virtually all of the individuals that attended MINUS the ranting idiot.

Watch some of the other videos where Dawkins praises the University of Oklahoma's Darwin collection. There's some good minds here...they just aren't as loud as the Xtians.

I was there at the lecture. I was proud to be an Oklahoman, and a scientist. It was a wonderful night.

  • Oklahoma is the armpit of the country , the most backward state in the union .

  • don't forget utah

  • Wrong.

  • Stand for rightousness or fall with the lost AC

  • AC?

  • Kicked out! LOL

  • I would give a thousand to sit in on a Dawkin's lecture.

  • why, are you really rich? Can I have some of this money you you seem so ready to part with?

  • No, I'm not rich.....I'm simply trying to provide an example of how much I desire to hear and learn from Richard Dawkins.

I've read many of his books and watched quite a lot of his explanational videos. The man is intellligent.

  • I don't think he's anywhere near as intelligent as people give him credit for. All he's done is try to slam Christianity and get gullible followers onboard (such as yourself) and made a ton of money off it.

  • Well you obviously haven't seen his research.

Gullible followers? lol...the nerve. A person couldn't possible assess the ginormous amount the Christianity bandwagon has stolen from its followers. And with no evidence to go on.

Who did you say was gullible? Let's be LOGICAL here.......

  • What you call evidence and I call evidence are obviously 2 different things. Scientific evidence is important to me, but it isn't everything and you can't find out ALL the answers. If you choose to go through life only believing things that are scientificly proven then thats up to you, I wouldn't critisize you for it.

I suppose FAITH is just one of those things; you either have it or you don't

  • And why is faith a virtue?

  • Sure. On the other hand, when someone claims that faith IS science, that's when there's a problem. Doing so cheapens both faith and science, in my opinion.

  • LOL......you're right about faith. It makes people suddenly forget common sense. Don't worry, you'r e not alone....just hope you don't send in too much money to the church. They'll take ALL of it if you give it to them....nothing like indoctrination.

  • Donations to churches are voluntary, and are needed to keep them going

  • Donations are psycologically induced, and donations are NOT needed, as the govt would intervene and make sure they were in place. TAX FREE too.

If the Catholic church alone paid property taxes, it would put a HUGE dent in the deficit.

    BUT.......that's just common sense....forgive me:)

  • The very foundation of religion is due to lack of KNOWEDGE of the world and FEAR.

Science has taken the place of religion, only too many people like the comfort and false promises of religion, thus, it hasn't gone away.

Religion is a divisive entity. Good people go around rejoicing their god and claim morality, while BILLIONS starve to death....and yet they ignore it.

When one person believes in a delusion we call it insanity, when many people believe in it we call it religion. R.P.

  • Thats just your opinion though. You obviously haven't experience what millions of Christians have, So it's you who has the lack of understanding. People don't "decide" to become religious out of fear, they do it because they have seen something that YOU haven't. And you will never understand something properly without experiencing it for yourself. It's you who has the FEAR of Religion...because you don't understand it. And people tend to hate things that they don't understand

  • Oh, but I have. I was reared Christian. The fellowship and fantasy is warm and fuzzy, the promise of eternal life is psychologically reinforcing, but reality is real. Besides that, religion is divisive in regard to other parts of the world, and for some strange reason, makes it easier to turn a blind eye to war, starving and suffering everywhere.

I've been there and done that. I've matured now.

  • Comment removed

  • Religion makes it easier to turn a blind eye to war simply because religion divides the people of the world. Example: The Christian community closes their eyes to the atrocities commited by our govt. because they are taught not to question things....b/c religious believe it's "god's will."

Claiming to be moral while pouring billions of evangelical dollars into the govt while it commits atrocities world wide is insane. Religion is pure psychological brainwash.

  • Religion, in a sense, can be so pervasive on the human mind that if manipulated and cohersed, can thwart a human's very own will to survive.

  • C'mon. Have you ever read of the Christian Crusades? They EVEN killed each other. There are "jesus camps" psychologically indoctrinating people to be "warriors" for jesus. These kids will grow up to ADVOCATE WAR if the elite tell them that they will "FIGHT" in the name of JESUS.

It's no different than muslim fanaticism. It divides people.

  • I apologize for marking your comment as spam...it was purely accidental. I meant to reply.

  • religion loves suffering. it feeds off it. mother teresa once said that pain and suffering brings a person closer to god.

as far as religion preaching peace? the crusades? need i say more?

  • I'll leave you with this little hint of how religion is used to manipulate the masses, yet form a social cohesion:

Wars are instigated and provoke for profit by the elite. They make BILLIONS off of building contracts, resource grabbing and allocation, and weaponry sales. Thus, elite rulers will always want war, and the people would NOT allow such if religion weren't use to dehumanize and group other nations.

    I think you understand.

  • Tell me this: Do you think muslims who blow themselves up for 72 virgins is rediculous? Yes. Do you believe they will actually ascend to heaven with their god/prophet, M. and have sex with the virgins? No, you don't.

But I will tell you this....It is NO MORE REDICULOUS than ascending to heaven with Jesus where TRILLIONS of good dead people are that will live for eternity, etc. etc.

Do you see where I'm getting at? Why would it be where one fantasy god is true and the other isn't?

  • Thats just your opinion though! I think you NOT believing it is rediculous too

  • Think outside of your bubble and your religion, and you will see the rediculousness in ALL religions. YOURS is not an ACCEPTION.

  • lol...Your so patronising! Why don't you think outside of your "bubble" then?

  • Ok...I will. If you believe that "God helps those who help themselves" then please adhere to it, and join together with other masses of people with a common goal: to change this world for the better. Please don't passively advocate the world's problems as "god's will" but help to change it to make a more "godly" world, conducive to us ALL.

    How's that?

  • Oh you're right about that. Look up the definition and then intertwine it with logic. There's a reason they are separate.

I'm not criticizing you, I'm merely forcing your hand to ACTUALLY analyze a philosophical and politically allocated, socially accepted psychological b.s. manipulation.

  • Doesnt sound like you've read any of his works on evolution and biology.

  • And why should I? There are millions of books out there, why should I waste my time on his ones, when I think (from watching alot of his lectures and interviews) that he's an idiot!

  • Sigh

  • I guess you shouldn't. But then you also shouldn't call him unintelligent or say "all he's ever done is..." when clearly you'd have no idea about either. Duh.

  • His pompus attitude and arrogance just gets on my nerves

  • millions of books?? why do you only believe one then?

  • What are you talking about, why do I only believe 1??? Who said I only believe 1?

  • So your not religious then?

  • Why not fly to where he is speaking..., surely can't cost that much if you plan it right.

  • I just might do that. However, I'd like to plan it where there's a vacation spot nearby.....all in one trip.

  • Cool video, thanks for sharing.

  • The rock group practising in the back of the hall made everything ELSE hard to hear, so I haven't got a clue what was going on in this video...

  • Rock group?? I was there and heard no rock group anywhere. I did hear train whistles periodically...is this what you're hearing?

  • Well, there is a rock group on the sound track, isn't there. Was that supposed to be helpful? FAIL!

  • LOL, I had forgotten that there was a sound track to this particular clip. I had come back to check comments and reply and totally forgotten about that!

  • so much for the right wing argument that "the left" is always trying to kill free speech during public lectures. Both sides do it, both sides get removed. Surprised?

  • If he had not been yelling and had just behaved and waited his turn I'm sure he could have stated his view and asked his questions and have gotten the proper response.

No I'm not surprised that "cdesign proponentists" are raving lunatics

  • The first people I heard yelling were those setting around him telling him to "Shut the F- up. ' because he was being so incessantly annoying. Then he got mad and ran out yelling at Dawkins.

  • That's all I heard to..I couldn't really make out anything of what he said...it seemed like unintelligible babbling.

The only reason I caught the "you're a fraud" is because the joker was right next to me when he yelled it!

  • No, he said, "I'm a biologist...and you're a FROG!" .... just kidding :-D

..and yes I stole the joke....

  • funny nonetheless...with a wacko like that though, you never know. He might have actually thought so!

I was sorta hoping my comment about him needing to take his thorazine made in onto one of these clips (several angles I've seen appear to have been from real close to where I was sitting), but alas, my voice was not as loud as it usually is due to a cold.

  • Ah, so you had a fraud in your throat? Er, um I mean frog....

Yeah, if I had been close to him I might have said, "Take your Ritalin, Garth!" (OK, that just dated me)

  • ahhh good old Wayne's World...those were the days

  • It's sad that he felt that way, however, what an honor to have Richard Dawkins at an Oklahoma University. Just to have him in Southern states is making fantastic strides.

May logic and reason pervail. Let it be the guiding light to a better world.

  • Dawkins was in Little Rock, Arkansas about two years ago doing his God Delusion lecture and was just as well received there, and with no nutter outbursts. It was all very civil and congenial (something we obviously cant have in Oklahoma).

  • A university is not a service station. Neither is it a political society, nor a meeting place for political societies. With all its limitations and failures, and they are invariably many, it is the best and most benign side of our society insofar as that society aims to cherish the human mind." Richard Hofsteder Ph.D History Prof. Columbia University

  • Thanks for the video.

  • Haha, that was me telling him about his awesomeness.

  • Seriously? What's it like to live in OK? I have a friend who lives there and she does say some very interesting things about the locals. I'm guessing the heat fries their brains.

PS Best street on campus: WadSack Drive

  • It's fucking mind-numbing how damn dumb my neighbors can be here in Joke-lahoma.

  • You mean the question right after the outburst? That was perfect comic timing :)

  • Not so much 'spreading the Good News' as 'spreading the Godly News' there.

Proving that 'Godly' is not necessarilly 'good' once more.

  • I think it's too generous to call him a protestor; he was a heckler. The good news is that (yes I was there) 99.9% of the audience was not only polite and receptive, but downright enthusiastic!!

  • Great choice of music. Thanks for the video Dave.

  • I am surprised there's not more nutty forms of harasment .The Fundy's have such a level of intense hate .
