@damnDworld heh never again those were the days of fully drugged up athletes. He was like 6'3 and has I think near the most throws over 70 feet with the glide at his height was ridiculous. This guy is 6'7 and barley threw around 71 feet with this best day ever. I don't think youll see the record broken till you get perfection conditions and really tall spinner.
@liamchenry92 The Americans seemed off in this championship, but the fact that they generally win and the World Record is by an American would suggest over the years they haven't been bad at it.
@TripwireAlarm I don't understand nasty comments like this... Why say something like that? The kid is 21 and is already a world champion, he is already a success. Sure, he had a better day than anyone else and that's what counts at a championship, but you have no basis to say he won't continue improving in the coming years. After qualifying with a PB people were saying there's no way it will carry over to the final. I thought 21.78 might shut you people up but you're still going. Wow.
Storl's PB will probably get up to 22.50m-ish, but will not come close to Barne's or Timmermann's record. I highly doubt any person can get more than 23m without juicing.
@Bermin8a Really difficult to say though, the late 1980s was a time of widespread doping, the athletes at that time were regularly throwing 22m+ monster throws. It will be difficult for a modern, clean athlete to get more than 22.50 let alone 23m+ (Cantwell got 22.54m, and he is probably the biggest guy out there). However, I have hope for young Storl here, like you I wish him the best of luck :)
He dominated all the youth and junior championships in hid time and now is on his way to dominating the senior shot, he is a real athlete, mix between speed and power, with one flawless technique, the next Ulf Timmermann in my opinion, maybe even the next WR holder, but we will just hav to see :)
Ungalublich, was der Junge heir bringt.Chapeau,David,,und weiter so,,das wird mal ein gewiß Großer!!

@ohedd Of course i am serious! The glide is just as amazing as the rotation. Oh, and the Americans are terrible at the Rotation.

he rotated his entire lower half when he hit the power position instead of just the right leg...which I see people in the U.S doing all the time.

@f1uckingretard Are you talking about Jacko Gill or David Storl. Jacko is 16 and David is 21. David threw 21.78 not jacko...
