  • mtridgee11 has a nice video on doing the trigger mod. one of the best i have seen on youtube.

  • i also took the pigtail out of both my sigmas(9mm and .40cal). i polished the the inner trigger parts and changed one of the inner springs with a lighter one and it made a huge difference in the feel.now the trigger is smoother and lighter. much more enjoyable to shoot than a stocker.

  • Ooooh Prettyyyyyy!!!

  • do it have a extended mag for this gun i cant find nothing?

  • Does polishing it make it vulnerable to rust?

  • @cntryboy9211

This particular slide is made of solid stainless steel, so if anything the more smooth finish is LESS vulnerable to rust .

  • war your whole gun black????

  • You're right about not making it any shinier. It looks PERFECT the way it is in this video. I always thought the Sigma looked great and you just made it look like a piece of art.lol

  • @GadgetsNGear could you shine mine? how much would you charge?

  • Thanks for the info . I just finished polishing my sw9ve so I'll have to remove that pig tail spring next .

  • How did the trigger mods work ? Did u remove the pig tale spring ?

  • @Deweyduhamel

Yeah pigtail spring gone, I also removed the outer of the two spings that push up on the sear and replaced it with a much lighter weight one. I'm afraid this gun sees more time in the closet now though as I have fallen rather deeply in love with my CZ75

  • @GadgetsNGear Is pulling out the pigtail really worth it? How many lb's of trigger pull would you say that shaved off? Mine sits under my bed waiting to die cuz I can't stand shooting it thanks to the trigger.

  • @snatale1

Hmm, well my friend has a trigger scale, before the pigtail mod, the trigger was more than ten pounds (the highest his scale goes.... after the pigtail mod it was (drum roll) still more than ten pounds lol! But I had a few friends shoot it and they all agreed it was an improvement. I then removed another keeper spring and replaced it with a much lighter spring and did a full action polishing job on it and we all agreed that it was VERY nice... It was still more than 10 lbs... lol

  • @GadgetsNGear $20 and a new spring took my trigger pull to 3.5 pounds on my sigma ....love shooting it !

  • What did you use to shine it? Do you need a buffer?

  • damnnnn. nice

  • Did you have to do any hand sanding with 2000 grit sand paper before hand ? What do you think about removing the pigtale spring ?

  • Hey how many finishes does the slide of the sigma come from the factory in ?

  • @Deweyduhamel

As far as I know factory finishes are a matte stainless steel and the black coated stainless steel.

  • @Deweyduhamel This .40 cal only comes in the two-tone Black and Silver finish.

  • that really is a good looking gun.

  • nice chrome i got the same gun but damm i need my shit chrome like yours ..lol

  • The BG'S will see you coming from a mile away, but at close range you blind the shit out of 'em hehe, looks great!

  • please dont make me beg please post a how to!

  • you did an amazing job! you should do a video in how to do it!

  • ?? its a gun not a god damn gift for your wife

  • @kushbluntsandrozay

Having a bad day bro? lol

    Haters gonna hate I guess........

  • do these jam a lot? i was told .40 cal jams very often?

  • @dreamz20091 this gun has never jammed on me in 1000+ rounds many of which were home brew reloads.

  • @GadgetsNGear I agree! Because of thier tarnished name I got mine for $200 and have put about 300 rounds, both steel and brass through it and I have not had one jam yet! I am sure of buying another one here soon because when people start finding this out the price is going to skyrocket! Good vid, you really shinned that stainless good!!!

  • Nice, I carry a S&W Sigma .40. But, I wouldn't want something shiny in a tactical situation so I'll keep mine brushed. To each his own though. :-)

  • nice i got the same gun but damm your gun is pertty like what u said..lol

  • looks great!

  • looks good...i wouldn't do it to any gun i thought i would need in a life threating situation tho.

  • what were the 3 compounds that you used ? and did you have another video demonstrating the polishing ? i have "mothers mag & aluminum polish" and it works really well...i have the exact same gun but yours looks so much better than mine, that why i kind of need the names of the compounds...good lookin piece

  • @TeXaS99BiShOp

I used an EMERY compound a NICKEL/STEEL compound and a JEWELERS compound. I used the RYOBI compounds from Home Depot, with the buffing wheels on my bench grinder.

  • where did you find the 3 compounds u used? also is there a certain brand? i attempted this with a stainless steel brush attachment on a dremel300. needless to say it didnt work out quite as well lol

  • @MikeAndJanPlus1

OH jeeze man you are going to have some work to do!

The compounds and this wheel I got from the home depot. I think they are Ryobi brand.

  • that is fuckin amazing

  • let me know when u get some trigger time...lol

  • gotta agree. you did a great job man. i just got one, and i love it.

  • Nice weapon! Great Vid!

  • @052187ful

Thank you for the complement, and thank you for your service.

  • sweet polish job, looks nice

  • Dude you really need to post the trigger mods. i love my sigma 40 but the pull is horrible and it would be a much better pistol with some mods

  • does anyone know if any of the glock serpa holsters will fit the sw40ve pistol...i heard that the glock 22 or 21 will fit?!?!

  • It is pretty much the exact same size as the glock 19 or 23, or any of the compact series, and has almost the exact same frame. I am ordering a holster right now, as far as i can tell if it fits a glock 19 it will fit a sigma.

  • cool dude thanks i already had someone give me the info....the glock 20/21 serpa holster will fit the sw40ve...

  • i think this looks amazing. you did a GREAT job. i am most definately doing this to my glock.. thanks for the vid

  • Thank you very much for your kind words.

Please be aware that the slide on the sigma is stainless steel, the slide on your Glock is a carbon steel and it will rust if you don't look after it. From the factory it has a tenifered coating that is designed as a protectant rust inhibitor. You can use car wax on your polished slide to keep air away from the bare steel if you choose. Unless of course you have an aftermarket slide on your glock.

  • It's so shiny it's hurting my eyes

  • It looks awesome. Thanks for the video

  • Absolutely amazing work on the slide!

  • hey blake i was looking at your ejector and its nice and shiny how did u do that i just got my sigma today and its black?

  • @FisterPD

Hey fister if you watch my video "PART1: Polish metal on a bench grinder / buffer" and its follow up vid, I talk about the process i used to shine up the slide and extractor.

    -Blake

  • Hey Blake is it alright to repeat the whole process via emery, nickle, jewelers on a semi polished slide? i started the slide but it didnt get as shiney as i wanted it however, my wheel is about dead and i bought another one but id like to begin the process over again. Would this ruin my chances of it turning out like yours?

  • no worries man, you can always go back, just keep in mind you will have to start over from that stage.

You should not ruin a buffing wheel on just one polishing job, There should be big washers holding the buffing wheel in place on either side, Use regular washers that match your arbor to really clamp down on the wheel hard. This will keep fibers from flying out.

Keep in mind that the more time you put in the better the result. =)

    -Blake

  • The Sigma is an excellent trainning gun.

I look at the Sigma as a begainners gun for those who are starting on shooting big cailber guns.

  • @Captb55806

I like mine, above all other things it is dead reliable, well over 2000 rounds through mine and not a single malfunction. Its the gun I pack when i go hiking, light, powerful, easy battery of arms.

  • I plan on getting a Sigma 40 S&W in the further only because its good in price and its a start for me in shooting big cailber semi auto guns. A gunsmith did tell me not to buy the Sigma in 9mm but only in 40 because the fuction better then the 9mm or at least what he told me. There has been many oppions on the Sigma some like them some do not others say buy the 40 and avoid the 9mm. So it goes down to perference .

  • The big gripe that i had about the gun was the trigger. I removed two redundant springs from it and now its only about 6LBS. I now have NO problems with this gun (I also textured the grip with a soldering iron) It has gone BANG every single time I have shot it, not the most accurate gun in the world, but I'm not the most accurate man in the world. Considering you could almost buy two of these for the price of one glock, I am VERY happy with it. (plus it's become a project gun!)

    -Blake

  • Like I said I do like the Sigma. almost got one and they had one sell at Turnersoutdoorsmen for $299.99 Plus Tax and D.O.J Fee and Smith and Wesson is giving $50.00 rebate or two extra magizines. Reson why I did not buy it is because they had a very hard to find

World War II TT 33 Romanian Tokarve Pistol on sell for $279.99 that shoots 7.62 x 25 Ammo. I just had to have it because they go for a lot at gun shows.

  • Nice look on your Sigma! You should definitely make a how-to-vid sometime. Happy Holidays

  • Thanks for the kind words, I posted a vid response, showing how too, as per popular request! =) Its a brief 2 part series.

  • @Rebadog1 Jesus chrit idiot, I have no fucking clue what the hell you said.

  • Not a really good idea to remove trigger springs. If you do happen to shoot someone and end up in court, they will try and crucify you for making mods yourself. They will call "expert" witnesses to make you look like a gun maniac. And God help you if you use anything but ball ammo in your pistol. Self defense weapons should not be modified with anything but better sights and maybe a laser or light. Anything else you do makes it look like you are making a weapon suited to offense instead.

  • I use this gun for competition shooting so lightening the trigger was kinda a must.

94% of cases involving using a weapon for self defense, brandishing the weapon was enough to end the aggression according to the FBI. If that 6% happens too me, well, I'd rather be judged by 12 than killed by 1.

It doesn't matter how many mods you do to your guns, it only matters if the actual evidence points to your guilt or innocence.

  • Check out some of the articles by Massad Ayoob on righteous shootings. Sometimes it's not the evidence that gets the shooter into a jam. A really zealous prosecutor can sway a jury with smooth talk and his supposed "expert" witness. Mr. Ayoob has been called many times as an expert for the defense and sometimes he made the difference and sometimes not. The prosecution will contend that since the trigger was modified it will fire at a higher rate and thusly be more deadly. One shot kills aside.

  • massad is infamous for just making shit up dude. thanks for your concern. I'll let the jury decide heaven forbid that ever happens.

  • @GadgetsNGear

i thought it was judged by 12 than carried by 6

  • @CurtEdwards

Yes, I believe that is the correct phrase.

  • cool, did u have to take off the rear sight or did u polish around it. How does the new trigger enhancement work

  • I didn't remove the rear sight, just worked around it, I posted a vid response to this video, explaining the polishing process. The trigger mod involves removing two redundant spring from the trigger mechanism. So far it is working GREAT! Still not a single malfunction from this gun! not a one!

    =)

  • the gun looks awesome.... what all did it take to shine it up like that?

  • hey again hammerhead! =)

If you see that yellow bench grinder in the background, its got a woven cotton buffer/polishing wheel on it instead of a grinding wheel. I didn't really do any prep work on the metal, as the stone/bead wash from the factory is decent (I think) you just take some compound, apply it to the buffing wheel, and then apply flat surfaces to the wheel.

I can make a how to video if you'd like =)

  • i think you should because thats the first time i've seen that and im sure more people would like to see it done...

  • I agree with Hammer...you should def. make a how to vid on that....great fuckin job by the way! it makes the gun just that much more sexy!
