I live in gulf shores,al. I average 2megs sec and rarely go below 1meg per sec. I get this in mobile and pensacola. we are a tourist town and that might be part of it.
Unless at&t extends there coverage drasticly i will probably switch to verison will they get the iphone.I think at&t will squeeze every dime they can get out of the iphone without putting money back in the company and one day soon they will be having massive layoffs. But the top people are getting there huge bonus's and not worried about later, getting theres now. I had alltel for years and they were by for the best network for making calls.
Yeah I think Sprint has a type of 4G, as in 1 step faster than 3G. But it's not technically 4G (LTE is the official 4G), I think it's technically the next generation of WiFi, (thus being called WiMax).
One thing that needs to be said is that the carriers need to step up and in cities where there is a large mass of "geeks" they need to beef up their bandwidth!! I live in VA and have full 3g and a great connection and thats cause where I live there are not many iPhone users. On a trip to SF recently my iPhone was horrible. Another point I was in austin two weeks ago and my 3G was great...so it proves when you have a mass of people using the phone it clogs the network and then it sux!!
lol it's their problem. The geeks are paying a a pretty expensive plan. And they need to provide the service the geeks pay for. This is the future of cellphones/mobile communication so they have to expect that the usage of bandwidth will only increase!!
So AT&T invest a lot of money in your GPRS/G3 and maybe even 4G network.

this is what happens when you put a retarded ceo in command of a once-great company.

I quote Molly Wood: Why would AT&T offer unlimited data plan if their network can't handle it? Duh!

Great point! We need to learn to expand instead of trying to keep us contained.
