i have the EXACTLY same problem, i will try and open my psp up and clean it since the warranty is finished.
but just an additional note to every one out there:
my friend has a psp ant it had a problem(i dunno what)
he didnt have the warranty so i sent it to sony, they said it had a total repair cost of 89 euros.
im thinking if this doesnt work out for me, i can just send it to them and get it 'fixed' for 89 euros (they dont fix it, they give u a new one and say they fixed it, wich is even better
the down side is that u will need to 'void' the guarantee since u need to take off the sticker.
but it's super simple to fix.
just take off all the screws, flip it over so the screen is facing u, then u take of the home bar and just blow on it so any dust comes of(follow this link so u know what part im talking about and u can see how to connect it: youtubeºcom/watch?v=YHtFxjg6GVQ
i have a similar problem except my screen keyboard just appears then dissapears almost immediately. if anyone could help me with my problem i would appreciate it.
@celticross215 It's a Start button problem. Start just keeps clicking every second. I also have the same problem. I sent it to repair and they said they didn't knew how to fix it.
the start button is jammed in so it automaticly hits enter so take a knife and take out start button blow inside and put back in if that dont work your fucked lol
i have the same problem did you already get a way to fix it?

@rey6tanako Maybe there's some dust in the joystick too. Open the psp, take the joystick out and clean it.
emmanuel0099 1 year ago
Well, the problem was that thing you've mentioned about the dust between the buttons. I opened it because of two reasons:
1. Sony Service wanted me to pay $100 just for the diagnostic and another 120 bucks (in mexican pesos) for the repair.
2. My psp was a year old already, so it had no valid guarantee. So I decided to fix it myself.
However, my psp died a year after the problem :( So now I got an iPhone :D
Sorry for the late answer people!
