At 5:51 -- you and another carriage are side by side (maybe 8-10 feet apart) when several bicyclists ride right between the two carriages! But the horses barely wiggle their ears and you hardly notice either, indicating that this is not an uncommon occurance. I have worked outside in hotter temperatures then 90 no-one stopped me. I don't live in the USA or know much about your health and safety rules as we call them in Europe. I thought the rules for humans were stupid here but It sounds like that is even more extreme rule then we have for humans!

I am a 16 year old male who is from Scotland. I went to the wonderfull City of New York in February as my birthday present, I had been waiting for years as I was fascinated with 9/11 Attacks. During my 1 week stay with my family, we went on a carriage ride around Central Park, and I have to say it was so amazing. The horses looked healthy, "happy" and was drinking a-lot of water at every stop I saw.

Horseriding is no different than having a dog- nothing is wrong with it, humans best friend. x

I am a NJ carriage driver/ owner- and i don't drive or ride the horses in heat much over 80 degrees. On hot days I will only exercise the horses lightly in the early morning hours or evening hours if it cools off. Race horses are on the track exercising at 4am in the morning before the heat- but i don't agree with them racing the horses in heat- it's just wrong! I have pulled my own horses out of 3 day combined driving events due to the heat- (even when i was winning).

Abuse of an animal is not something you can hide. It shows on the animal, and through the animals behavior. Beaten, neglected, starving, or otherwise injured animals do NOT behave properly, nor do they usually remain social and trusting of people.

There are many ways to *know* abuse of any kind is happening. The idiots screaming abuse on your carriage horses don't even know equine basics, for Frith's sake.

i went riding today, it got over 100 degrees today and my fat little quarter horse named luke did just fine! i was in new york last week, went on a 40 minute ride around central park with my grandmother, pretty bay horse named Rebecca

You should be nasty as hell to them. If someone were telling me that I was abusive, i'd flip out on them. These carriage horses are happy and healthy, its probably kinda like an all day trail ride for them :)
