  • Everyone here is being weenies lol we all have a passion for cars we shouldn't fight but share the knowledge. I like the Toyota Corrola Trueno AE86 Japan Spec id' love to have one and learn to drift.

  • Everyone here is wrong, in the USA it's a corolla GTS, in Japan it's either a levin or trueno, they have the same engine but the ones in japan have a little bit different specs

  • Drift king

  • doesn't a sprinter trueno have flip up lights and a sprinter levin have no flip up lights and different grills? i donno maybe correct me if im wrong though. but i love this car

  • so levin/gts are the trim names for 85 86 88 etc?

  • oh and people this is pretty sad saying that u guys know about hachis and just going on hear-say. atleast read up on wikipedia and or learn their history of the engine transmission chassis code and things like that please thank you

  • ok people are confused here in japan its called sprinter tureno (flip up) and the levin(non flip up). in america its called corolla gts. the sr5 is 1 trim under the gts it does not differentiate the headlights. the 4age engine is present in all gts models starting from 1984 to the early 90's if i remember correctly. the chassis code for japan is AE86xxxxxx blah blah blah in america is AE88xxxx blah blah blah ae85 is in japan and other places not america.

  • it might be the best in a corolla but ive seen better in a nissan rps13 he got it past 90 degrees and held it for the full corner

  • go Taka go!

  • AE86 FTW

  • oh nice hes driving a GTS i like it :D

  • only difference between levin and trueno is that the trueno has pop up headlights, and the levin has fixed lights. the dx/sr5 and gt-s are the different models, and there are the coupe and hatchback versions of the ae86.

  • the trueno has flip lights and nothing on the back, the levin has a trunk. i think

  • the levin was in japan 2 i think

  • 4age turbo for the win taka lol I think this might be the ae86 that had 720hp but I don't remeber the engine wasn't a 4age

  • @xHORxNINJA18x

where are u getting 720 hp from???? if someone can make that out of a 4age for drift, i'll give em a cookie, thats a tall order for a straight line 4ag to hold up

  • @Reuterskiold Thats what i said when i found out idk though when i saw it didnt look like a 4age even though thats what he normally rocks

  • taka puttin it down

  • Seriously, people who don't know any real facts about what defines Levin, AE86, and Sprinter Trueno, should not argue on youtube.

  • coz its team egg sport

  • its got the same paint scheme as Vaughn Gitten Jr.'s Mustang haha

  • @madscientist741 Or...Vaughn Gitten Jr.'s Mustang has the same paint scheme as this AE86...?? ooooo. There are like 5 cars with this paint scheme because they're all apart of the Falken Drift team.

  • the levin doesnt have pop-up headlights..

  • No offence but the engine sounds like fart ( in this vid ) :o....

  • rofl rofl

he trying to mock saudi arabia drift

    he cannot do it ...

go to ksa and let them teach u :P

  • wow, u all researched initial-D lmao really. only true ae86's in america are imported+ the levin and the trueno have completely diff. motors. Further more i want one T-T, but i guess the new ft-86 will do "ugly as shit though"

  • sound is orgastic..

  • I'm not a big fan of the Falken tires team or the tires them selves (I prefer Toyo's) but I think the only cars I like on the Falken team is the Silvia and AE

  • What team is this because i know they have a mustang and some other cars aswell

  • @SmashModeEnt falcon tires?

  • @L2LiSlide falcon?? haha...FALKEN.

  • Such an iconic car!

  • nothin' sounds much better than a AE86 in the high r's

  • it;s a sprinter

  • All ae86`s are sprinters. This one is a Trueno Sprinter ;)

  • trueno = sprinter

    levin = corolla

    both ae86's

  • Wrong.

AE86 is the GT version of the AE85/86 bodies.

Trueno means Thunder, so it passes as a Thunder Sprinter/GT, whereas Levin means Lightning, thus Lightning Sprinter/GT.

If it has a 4AC or 3A engine, its a AE85 (In the sense that it has no 4A-GE.) SR-5 and therefore not a Sprinter/GT model, if it has the 4A-GE engine, it`s the Sprinter/GT model.

    The E in the chassis codes: KE30, KE70, TE71, AE86, AE101, AE111, AE82, KE5X, etc etc = Corolla.

  • @ToreDL87 i own a 84 corolla sr5 and on the vin plate the chassis code is AE86, the AE85s were never sold in the americas.

  • @moonerdizzle Yessir, what I meant was that the SR5, in Japan, having the chassis code AE85, is not any different from the Western world introduced AE86 coded SR5 apart from them being delivered with different engines, the Western SR5 AE86 coming with 4A-C 1.6 SOHC and the Japanese one coming with 3A-U 1.5 SOHC.

My apologies for the misunderstanding sir.

I also own a 84 AE86, theres just something about the early ones aint it? :D

  • @ToreDL87 oh, i love my 84 rolla, theres a place in my heart for carbed SOHC motors. i may make a 7ac hybred motor, but im not going to put a 4ag in her.

  • @moonerdizzle Why not? its cheap :)

  • @ToreDL87 i like my SOHC, they got a lil bit more torque, and less moving parts equals less shit that can break on me, and im slowly working on making a 4ac into a 4ag killer, im tired pf chasing down hondas adn set my scope on a new target, lol

  • ..a reliable 4ac that beats 4ag`s? Maybe equal of a 4ag block and thats without mentioning reliability, You`d need squirters, crank, pistons, and what little torque a 4ac has over 4ag is easily beaten with a bit of overbore, and the head? Where you going to find the parts to tune that? It`d all be custom and you`d be wasting a shit load of money for a engine that needs revving to 8k just to go off at green light and overhaul every year with careful driving while my race 4ag 16v goes for 5 years

  • @ToreDL87 not bashing or hating, but i can just let off the clutch at an idle and go, and i dont want to be a conformist and do a 4ag swap or any other swap, i want ot take a good motor that is often overlooked and take it up to level that can compete with most 4ags, cause not every one who has a 4ag goes all out with them, just a few things here and there, and another thing, my 4ac is 26 years old, never been overhauled, has 141xxx miles, and has great compression, only prob is the dizzy oring

  • The race starlets with over 160PS had 3k`s but with dohc heads ;)

But I`m not here to spit on people, if you got a lot of money, go for it, and make a build thread somewhere, you`d be helping out others on the same quest plus its fun to read :)

  • @moonerdizzle I never said 84 sr5`s didnt have the AE86 chassis code, look what I wrote, AE86 coded SR5. Which is completely opposite to what you are accusing me of..

  • @ToreDL87

actually you can get ae86's with 4ac's. the aus delivered ones had 4ac

  • @frozenzorpewpew I never said you couldnt get AE86`s with 4AC`s, I said the sr5 and ae85`s have different specs.. I`m well aware that you get a 4ac AE86 in Aus.. But its not a AE85 now is it :)

  • @meddlok i have a trueno corolla dumbass

  • tommy suella is the best 86 drifter.

  • @miketwng ueno.....tho he doesnt drift since the powerwar d1gp has taken all the small tracks out so he cant drift his ae no more :(

  • Thanks for the info. Didnt know it was a japanese D1 driver behind the wheel. That explains the amazing drift. haha.

  • @miketwng yea the driver is taka aono i think and the ae86 has a a formula atlantic 4age with a turbo!!! its the most mental ae86 ever

  • if thats the best 86 drift you have ever seen you need to educate yourself and watch hibino from d1 and prepare to piss your pants

  • Clarification: In the U.S. market, the 4A-GE engine was first used in the 1985 model year Corolla GT-S only, which is identified as an "AE88" in the VIN but uses the AE86 chassis code on the firewall as the AE88 is a "sub" version of the AE86.

  • Sick run! He's just flying around those corners!

  • wat exhaust is on that?

  • instead of bitching about facts can we all at least agree that was sick drifting?

  • wow, what a drift! nice engine sound

  • ur a dumb bitch they call it a sprinter in america and ae 86 in japan dumb fuck not both put together

  • actually its a corolla levin in the US and a Sprinter trueno in japan, but it doesnt really matter.and ae86 is the chasis code man, chill.dont call him stupid if you dont really know man.

  • really? i thought the levin and sprinter were two different models of the ae86

  • they are but idk if the levin was sold much to the USDM,so in the US the ae86 is sold mainly as the Corolla GTS/SR5 hatch/coupe' and in Japan there were both the corolla levin and the Sprinter trueno.

  • ooo alright i gotcha

  • @gunsnroses0987 ok simple in JDM land its levin (sqare lights) or trueno (pop up lights) in aussie land there called sprinters (square lights with a shitty 4ac) and in american u got the corolla sr5 (with the pop up lights)

  • @rockerdude29 There were no Corolla Levins in the US. I have no idea how u got so many thumbs up. AE86-AE92 were referred to as Corolla Sport in the US and always featured the Trueno style front end. Nowhere in the US were these cars ever officially called Levin or even Trueno for that matter. Ballie Dat!

  • @rockerdude29 ANOTHER GOOGLE fan

  • @rockerdude29 No,, the Levin never came to the US. Its sold as the Corolla SR-5 Or GT-S depending on sports package. And was only sold with the flip lights body style known as "Trueno". In Japan both body styles where sold, the flip light models where sold under the name Trueno, where as the Stationary headlight styled 86's where sold under the name Levin.

  • @rockerdude29 nope you are wrong corolla levin is abit different. the headlights are smaller.

  • @rockerdude29 no the levin doesnt have pop up lights it has the regular ones other then that though its the same thing

  • @rockerdude29

I was under the impression that the difference between trueno and levin was the front end. Levin having static headlights and Trueno having the pop up headlights..

Thats how I've always recognised them anyway.

  • @ShevPWI thats true, the sprinter has pop ups and levins are open.I dont believe they sold any levins, normal headlights,in the states.could very well be wrong though.

  • @rockerdude29 dude corolla levin and sprinter trueno are both in japan, americans had the sr-5 and gt-s and the regular corolla, we didnt have cool names for the different body styles

  • @rockerdude29 corolla levin in uk , sprinter trueno in japan, gts -sr5 in usa

  • @rockerdude29 doesnt levin have diffrent headlights?

  • @shaigen1 yes.. levins headlights are not pop up..

  • @rockerdude29 i am pretty sure that the sprinter treuno has the pop up headlights and the levin does not. i dont think it has anything to do with country.. but i may be wrong..

  • @demoniccronic420

As far as i know, you are correct. There is an 87 model with the fastback(hatchback) and flip-up headlights in the local salvage yard, but I cannot confirm the 4age engine in it was the stock engine or implanted from a later model. It's mostly just a hull left, looks like it went thru a really hot fire.

  • @RevanCraft

    aww thats sad poor rolla

  • @rockerdude29 levin : european and us

  • @rockerdude29 the us doesnt call it a levin, its simply a corolla

  • @rockerdude29 The Corolla Levin has fixed headlights, the Sprinter Trueno has flip-up headlights. The United States doesn't have either. The U.S has a Toyota Corolla GT-S, and SR5. Both of which are not AE86's. America has the AE85 Corolla, the difference between the AE85 and 86 for us, is the K50 Transmission, the non LSD, and they don't come with the 4A-GE like the Japanese model. The 4A-GE, was introduced however, in the Toyota Corolla GT-S AE92, in the states.

  • @rockerdude29 I'm sick and tired of people trying to challenge each others knowledge about cars in every single car video here on youtube.

  • @rockerdude29

actually rocker dude you shouldnt talk if you dont really know a sprinter trueno is pop up headlights in japan and levin is stationary headlights in japan only trueno were made in america and the gt-s chassis code is ae88 quit using common misconceptions to make it look like you know what ur talking about take it from a guy who owns one.

  • no ur a dumb bitch, in japan its the AE86 Sprinter Trueno/Levin, in america its a Corolla Gts/Sr5

  • Are you retarded?

  • you must be high as a f u c k i n g kite!

  • i like the mustang better with that vinly

  • team falken sucks try to drift a under power car and see how much skill you have...

  • Team Falken has mustangs too. And that eight six has a nissan 240sx engine with a steady nitrous drip and a turbo. Its definately not uderpowered

  • are you high? first of all, there is no nissan motor in that, its a 4ag. ive never heard an sr that sounds like that....if thats the "nissan 240sx motor" you are talking about. and sr20's never came in 240's....

YES, it is turbo'd, but who says it has nitrous?

  • I've sen close up on Aono's corolla. It may not have had it in this video but now it does have a nissan engine turbo and slow nitrous.

  • This video was posted in 07, he was still running his N/A Hasselgren Atlantic built 16v 4AG. In 08 he switched to a turbo 4AG setup. Turbo, but no Nissan engine. He's still running this setup.

  • Team Falken also goes about 80 in the turns so they need the power to keep it up there, when in under powered cars people only go like 30 or 40.

  • That Ae86 has two pics in the July issue of Modified mag.

  • there should be a ummmm fujiwara tofu shop team and maybe a redsuns D1GP team XD

  • I call dibs on the Tofu Shop! lol. Nah, no way would I do that to my 86. See to many replicas already, and mostly some are Ricers. "The Fujiwara Tofu shop sticker adds 5hp to my car". -__- I would bash their car, but have to much respect for it, since its all stock minus the sticker. Lol

  • go tak!!!!!!

  • thats gotta take so much confidence to go flying in to that first curve drifting.

  • Imagine all that practice that goes down as well :)

  • gotta love the yoda.... gots my 91 mk3 love that mofo

  • that must be well tuned :P

  • Did you know that the Trueno models has better body rigidity than the Levin models?

  • I didn`t :P

  • how so? the flip up headlights give it better rigidity? i know coupes have better rgidity then hatches, which is why i got a coupe lol

  • Coupes also have flip up headlights.

And Coupes have a stiffer rear suspension, therefore better rigidity.

  • Oh yeah I know that, hatches have a big hole in the back and the coupes don't lol, but you miss understood my question. Since, Trueno's have the flip up lights and Levin's have the regular headlights, i was wondering if the difference in the headlights made one stiffer than the other. But, i don't know what other differences there are between the two besides the different headlights, so that's why I asked.

  • Well you can have trueno coupes/ hatches

    and levin coupes/hatches.

The only difference is that The rear supension in a coupe is much stiffer due to the lack of weight/ glass.

other than that there is no real difference other than looks.

  • right, like i said thats why i bought a coupe XD

  • Suspension is the same. the chassis may be a little stiffer in the rear due to the fact you have sheet metal going across the back seats and kind of tieing in the rear sus. but I doubt you can really feel that much of a difference. Plus if you are modifying these cars you will be stiffining up the chassis via. braces or roll cage.

  • thats why he is the AE86 god.

i kinda hate formula d anyway.plus carndrifter is right.

  • this video is D1GP E-Town 2007 qualifying not Formula D

  • dude, notice i said I hate Formula D... i know this inst it but still and Ueo 10x better than Aono when it comes to the AE86 Gods MSC>D1GP>FD

  • true

  • ueo is way better than taka

    end of

  • was i speakin to u??

no....do i care what ur saying ..no

how does him toteling his carr make him bad??u werent there so u wudnln know...never asked 4 ur opinion

  • huh.....a falcon AE86.....never seen those....

  • i think its Falken but, im not offending u in anyway.

  • Yes it is Falken.

  • taka RULES

  • nice clutch kick!

  • yeeaa ae86
