Hi Kstuart86, your tone is nice. This is a hard song to keep the beat to when it’s a cappella. Try and connect with your audience more by keeping eye contact. Good job.
...As for the phone, I would recommend either having someone hold it, or finding a way to set it up on something (be resourceful! I used to put my camera on cereal boxes. lol! whatever works for you...)

As far as timing and knowing the lyrics goes. No, it wasn't perfect. it was also a bit repetitive. When doing a song acapella, you should shorten it and/or change it up a bit so it stays interesting.
Vocally, however, you did not disappoint. So I'm not too worried about you.
@nicksmi1234 I know. I actually hate watching myself. It's easier to perform on stage than in your bedroom for sure. I'm working on that aspect. You know it's bad when you tell people to listen, but not watch haha.
Welcome :) I like your vocals and I like the song. I would def. suggest learning lyrics. I dont think you should have rushed putting up the video because you had time to get it down more. Rushing does yourself and injustice. Good Luck :)

u have a good voice to work with .. lots of potential.. i hope your really here to compete.. and didnt just put a video up for the subs you get in the beginning of the contest.. (some people do that.. annoyes the hell outta us!) jerry calls em all like they are though.. your unprepared.. and it shows.. thats unfortunate cuz your voice is wonderful..
@creeingles Yeah, I know it isn't perfect, I've never done anything like this before so just getting my feet wet. I actually just heard about this contest the other night. I'm excited though, hope I last a little bit so can learn some more stuff and do better! (Memorization has always been the most difficult for me lol)
@kstuart86 dont take me wrong though.. i've listened to this a few times now and you have an excellent voice! when i hear that voice i expect more out of you with other aspects.. you could be a contender gurl!

You have a really nice voice, but you sell yourself short by being so unprepared. Not only do you not know the words, but you haven't even rehearsed this much at all. If you're going to continue with this contest you need to devote a LOT of time and effort. I also don't think holding your phone is going to work in the future - you need the freedom to be able to move. Even if the sound isn't as good on your laptop, it is still probably a better alternative.
@jwipe I know, it was a spur of the moment thing. I will definitely be more prepared next time if I stick around. I enlisted a friend to help record me already, so that should help :)
