  • Great guitar.

  • Christ this is good. Johns finest moment.

  • I like PIL but I think the Sex Pistols were better In PIL he kinda sounds like an old donkey. And the rhythyms repeat a lot like in This is what you want its what you get.

  • better than the Sex Pistols

  • My fav PIL song!

  • The Smiths...Ring a bell?

  • Anyone notice who the drummer is?

  • @prestonbob1 Who?

  • ahh yes JOHNNY ROTTEN!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Angry, raw, powerful, aggressive - and still brilliant!

  • nice! just a few months ago I was pretty sure that post punk started in 1979 lol

  • mr lydon hit it on the fucking head.

i were abit naive when the pistols ruled..

now i get what he meant.

    fuck the royalty.

    rock on mr lydon

by the way ur butter is soo good lol

  • This reminds of my teen so much :P

  • Those were the days, man!

Some of the best days of my life were learning to play this song and others

and feeling good playing along with it. Thanks for the influence, PIL.

  • THE BEST SONG EVER WROTE

  • talking money - why that?

  • Hope you got your money - you are brilliant!

  • when me and my friend had this song hit the airwaves we went ape. what a fucking comeback

  • Fuckin great track. went to see them very early 80,s in brighton. And was my first taste of tear gas(c.s) Nice! It was used to clear the club. What a great night out. I am Punk

  • my record at the" service national"(army) in '81

  • The vocalist is johnny rotten of the sex pistols. I heard this song many many moons ago. Still hits me hard to this day.

  • Fuckin classic

  • Who is the Vocalist on this ,, and who are the others,, Are they ex members of Sex Pistols,,,

  • @MyAxolotl johnny rotten is the vocalist

  • @MyAxolotl john rotten (lydon) jah wobble (john wardle-a freind of rotten) bass keith levine -who played in the early clash-gtr martin atkins drms

  • Great beat, great riff, great attitude. Not much like it now. Iv'e still got the attitude tho.

  • Ah Pil, the good ol' days. So many memories! Great Keith Levene guitar, and Jah Wobble fantastic too. Pearl Jam? Are you kidding? Pearl Jam : Tory /Republican AOR music for the boring middle classes.

  • @alvgen Pearl Jam definitely aren't Republicans by a long shot. Then again, we'll probably never get another frontman like Lydon. He was radical

  • fuck youuuuuuuu adverts!

  • Came straight after Pistols broke up. A real artist.

  • oh my days brngs back memories of teenage dreams and that some dreams come true god can this man Kiss, love this song.......still smiling ;o)

  • There's no other way to say it but I FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG!!!

  • Classic

  • Lovin' it :) The good old dayz ......

  • This wipes the floor of the music being released today. Its not even hardcore punk, more a pop variant but the attitude and essence of punk is there.

  • pearl jam kill this..... but the real thing is the shit

  • @Mumraa27 "Pearl Jam Kills This." ¿Do you mean that in a good or bad way?

  • @Lunatic4Bizcas When it comes to Pearl Jam i mean it in good way as for me they are best band that has ever lived.

  • @Mumraa27 : Ha! Ha! Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

  • @Lunatic4Bizcas Thank you for your adult reply......

  • @Mumraa27 Pearl Jam is a joke, there are some great alternative acts out there, Pearl Jam is definitely not one of them lol

  • @hellchild65 You must now feel quite embarrassed by your silly comment, I never mentioned anything about alternative acts could you not be a bit grown up and be like Lunatic and just understand we all don't agree.

  • @hellchild65 yep and neither is pil? Don't mock pearl jam because you do like them. How very fucking narrow minded are you?

  • @ChristianBurrell not much, i can accept and band that i dont like, like Metallica or Sex Pistols even Public Enemy, but Pearl Jam is crap

  • @hellchild65 how you can you not sex pistols when it is in relation to this shit music.

Fucking get a grip on life and life and live in modern times. No one cares what your opinion is, now sit the fuck down and listen to some good music, Like pearl jam XD

  • @ChristianBurrell yes because anything older must be bad, everything new that comes out is better????

  • @hellchild65 nope. Old is neither good nor bad. Just i'm sorry, but axl rose has a better voice than this. Anyway i'm done growing up. Maybe you should do the same considering your like? 50? Time for some fresh blood.

  • @ChristianBurrell lmfao, wow not even close sweetheart haha

  • @ChristianBurrell.... Jam? aint that what you spread on toast?

  • @sillydaddy100 haha you should be a comic.

  • @hellchild65 Music=Intercracy that among it self connects to a sophisticated rhytim of movement and energy that we all share, inner and outer micro and macro peace.

  • インストで聴きたいな

  • as if he said theyre not a band, theyre a company.

  • The song that spawned a thousand songs

  • refresh the page and watch the time, it changed from 3:16 to 3:17, or is it just me?

  • I grew up on this stuff. Met Johnny in 1983.

  • ME DAD <3'S THIS SONG

  • This song reminds me of my childhood (even though I'm only 19) but my mum used to have a punk cassette that she would always play, and this song was on it. X-Ray Spex, The Ruts and The Skids was also on it... I wish music like this was still made :/

  • I AGREE NEVER GET TIRED OF LISTENING TO IT,CLASSIC, WHAT A BASSLINE.

  • GOOD BYE.

  • still sounds as good today as when it first came out

  • Hello! hello? hello... hello! Hello, HELLO! hahahaha!!!!!!!!1111

  • This IS alternative music. PIL never sold their souls to the ass-shafting corporate scumbag music corporation of today. This should be the benchmark of modern music.

  • @gilky1a but johnny rotten did...

  • One of the best songs ever if you ask me...

  • Screaming vocals, prominent bass, driving drums and crunching guitar riff..

I could be describing the Pixies, but PiL got there 6 years earlier.

  • @git131269 and were SO much better.

  • god bless mr jah wobble

  • Think U2 were influenced by PIL just a bit?

  • hello anarchy byebye filth

  • this was 1978 wat b4 the fucking cure

  • this song changed my interest in 1984--great bassline

  • i bet they listened to the cure and stuff

  • Didn't know Clint Eastwood played bass.

  • THE GREATEST SONG EVER OF THAT GENERATION .

  • a true rock anthem

  • Escucho el tema todos los días hasta que me muera,en el trabajo,en casa ,en dónde pueda

  • some days, nothing hits the spot quite like old-school/OG punk rock. and today is one of those days!

    XD

  • Two sides to every story... yeh right!

  • Terrific song. I'm listening the source code of The Edge.

  • @ziozarzi what an incredible description (source code of the edge) ..... I couldn't agree with you more. love this song I loved the bassline instantly so simple yet so effective open E how low can you go! :)

  • @ziozarzi Yep, the Hedge totally ripped off Keith Levene's style. Mind you, it is a gorgeous style...

  • @blackpeter70 don't you mean the edge not the hedge, but yeah your right

  • @nirvanafan91ify Er, yeah, I know he's called the Edge. Just a wee joke. And how could anyone not know U2's lead singer, Bozo? ;)

  • @blackpeter70 I totally agree with you about Levene. Great style. On the square, I've never understood what's happened between Keith and The Clash and why Clash left Keith Levene. Bye.

  • @ziozarzi He apparently had some business to attend to.

  • Jan 9, 1978 Baton Rouge, Louisiana

    The First American Tour

The Kingfish presents, The Sex Pistols.

I still have my tee shirt and my sanity.

    GREAT FUCKING SHOW!

  • I'm so glad when thissong plays on my I-Pod, stuff of brilliance!!

  • uqe a nadie le importe cómo visto o el corte de mi pelo , lo im portante es lo que llevo dentro mío

  • Super-Awesome!!

  • Quality!!!

  • What an incredible song. Brings back great memories!!

  • Waaah... such a great song ruined by lousy drumming... fk the cymbals.

  • Bring back punk....absolutely class.

  • PURE FUCKIN CLASS!

  • i love the kind of subtle fusing Pil did with New wave and Post punk

  • What a vocal, one of the best frontmen ever!!!!!

  • Was played as new song during my highschool grad. Teachers HATED it. Aahhhh the memories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Amazing tune! check out rawcuss TV fantasies on youtube

  • Sex Pistols changed the music landscape forever, PIL have proved that Johnny played the major rol in that change.

  • Almost 1 million.... : )

  • Saw, heard and felt this performed live a few months back in Middlesbrough, UK. Mr Lydon was gracious enough to spray myself and others with the brandy he was sipping betweeen songs. Fantastic performance, sharp as ever boys!!! BRING IT ON!

  • Top, top track

  • maybe there is something interesting about this song but I can't find it.... no musicianship, no vocal skills....maybe the lyrics are good... who can tell?

  • @timbredance To me, it's just the mood it brings...plus i grew up in this era of music, and the whole sound just brings me back to the mindset at the time.

  • @timbredance It was the minimalism of the song that was so striking in 78, also the shimmering sound of the guitar overdubs and hugely upfront bass. It started a whole movement.

  • ☆☆☆!

  • Brilliant!!

  • you'll dance to anything...

  • You can fnck me but dö not fnck with me...

    :D*

  • This song had more subtle influence than any Sex Pistols track ever did

  • hallo halo great song...

  • レコードで聴いてた時はピストルズ人気だけのふざけたバンドだと思ったが、こりゃ凄いぞ。

  • Best punk and for real front man EVER.

  • fuck yeah. great song.

  • "We're a company not a band!" jajajaja!

  • class song by a class group no matter what the TOSSER below writes

the man is and always will be a genius long remembered after 40 yrs now you tool

  • I saw PIL at the I.O.W Festival....stick to adverts you Moron, you reek of hypocrisy !!

  • 2:46 this is exactly how I dance so I've been told to never dance again, I am now vindicated

  • Remember buying this .... Came with a free PIL newspaper as a sleeve I recall

  • @passingc Yeah, a story about 'Vera Dangerous' in it if I remember rightly. Mine fell to bits as did the first copy of the single.

  • I will always love this song.

  • Back in the late 80's I saw PIL in concert in PDX! Awesome show!!

  • A truly transcendent guitar riff...

  • .....I SAW PiL WHEN I WAS 15 YRS OLD AT THE OLYMPIC AUDITORIUM IN LOS ANGELES AND THEY FUCKIN KILLED IT....THEY KICKED ASS.....

  • 40 people do not have a public image or taste in music! -.-

  • @TrioMember1

    44

  • @TrioMember1 clever one you are...

  • "You never listen to the word I said"????? Execuse me John Lydon! I love to listen to you and your damn good punk-voice!

  • Weirdest thing about this track is that when it came out I thought it was really average and not very interesting. Then one day I suddenly seemed to "get" it and it sounded amazing ever since. The really weird thing is that I was over 40 when I "got" it........

  • @StanPomeray

I hear you. When I was a teen I bought a PIL album (that what is not) because I didn't know better and was expecting something like the pistols. I was dissapointed with it and only listened to it around 5-10 times before I decided it wasn't for me. 20 years later, I rediscover PIL, and PIL becomes one of my favorite bands.

  • @RemoteMemory the lyrics must be very relevant to you then!

  • I like!!

  • HA! Exactly why I quit the music industry.

  • At least 15 years ahead of its time. Brilliant.

  • I saw them this time last year. Right at the barrier! :) <3

  • Worlds greatest bass line, but the only song i like by PIL, XD

  • he is on my list of vermin i want to stamp on .

  • @dave2806 Who is the vermin? They are the fucking genius's of music and this band is immense. If you think Johnny Rotten is a vermin, you are fuckin wrong, he is a god-like figure in the musical industry from my perspective, was there any need to come and say that?

  • @dave2806 superfag!

  • Brilliant...takes me right back to when music was chosen by the people, not manufactured by Cowell!!!

  • The thing I love is that they dont care what anyone thinks and if they try to stop em then they're in for it. Thats how I live my life

  • This is the new BEN BERNANKE theme song!

  • Its the Edge .

  • Sus siunakkoon tämä on hyvä kuuntelin tätä kyllä heti tämän ilmestyttyä 1978
