I had the pleasure of rehearsing this whole TV special with Cher for a month. Dolly was supposed to be goodness and Rod Stewart the bad guy with the Tubes down below. Cher of course in the middle being pulled both ways. Cher also did all the parts (12 of them) for a medley of West Side Story. She was the Sharks, the Jets, Maria, Tony, Bernardo and Anita and danced all of it.
Dolly = most beautiful woman ever + musical genius + voice of an angel + incomparable character...did you realize that she's perfect?^^ LOVE YOU DOLLY!!!
Wow ! This brings back memories .... this was the second time I saw Dolly after I became a fan (after I heard "Here You Come Again"). The first time was the Barbara Walters Special and then this Cher special a few months later. I was hooked ... in the 6th grade and I couldn't get enough of her. I remember she also sang "Two Doors Down" earlier. Dolly, Cher, and Rod Stewart .... what a show!! Thanks, mthivier

anyone ever seen that pic of dolly, cher and rod stewart when they are real young.. i believe it was taken in late 60's or very early 70's its a great pic.. they are all standing hugged up together

what do you get if you put 2 stars like these together , well besides big hair, a real great duet, they are so their own self but they still are great together, you get a "hellelujah!"

(70's & 80's ) Songs like Gentle on my mind (70), Swanee River (70), Sing a little sunshine (70),blues stay away from me (70),Holding on to you (80), My soul is a witness (80), Motown medley (80) , Loves me like a rock (70) and American Trilogy (70),.....
It's to bad that, other than this one TV special, they really have never done anything together, an album or a movie or anything like that. They are among the most defining performers of their respective genres, and they have many mutual fans who would probably love to see them act or sing together on some joint project.
How come this stuff is not yet on DVD???
