squaresoft franchises went to shit when the merger happened, and it wasnt squares lack of game quality or sales that bankrupt them, it was the mistake of a over ambitious movie called spirits withinn. FF sucks now, for example, and it used to be my favorite franchise. Squaresoft > Square-enix.

@ehill1536 i think that would be the legend of dragoon, main characters name is dart, he has red armore and frebrand the green tusked dragon attacks you in the biggining. i just beat that 2 months ago, i hope my info helped
The Legend of Dragoon ? The combos were with the 'X' button and the main characters village is burned down in the beginning. Check out Cody's channel for a Lets Play to bring back your memory. If it is LOD, it was my favorite game.
@ehill1536 You are most probably talking about Legend of Dragoon. In it you play a "Red Guy" whose village is attacked by a "Black Monster". There are Special Combos which you have to press with precision, and later you can turn into a Dragoon and do all sorts of Magic attacks.

I love playing Musashi and I'm PO'ed I never got a chance to flip this game! Assimilate was a fun ability...stealing abilities from enemies. Storyline is alright, gameplay was awesome and the puzzles were a mix of easy and downright tricky. The boss battles seemed epic along with the music! Does anyone know if this game is on Playstation Network? By the way, great review and gameplay Skorch :) I will subscribe to your videos!

I have this game, and this is one of the few games I have that actually challenged me. XD I still have it, and I'm right at the end. (I think.) It was my cousin's. I almost have it beaten, and it's one of the few I've played that's challenged me. The one that's done that the most was Zelda the Ocarina of Time.
Excellent Action-RPG. It even had an entertaining voice acting! Games like this made the real Squaresoft something we will ever miss. I still remember how hard the last part of it was, the flying fortress after you broke all the seals...I never got through it and my memory card lost the data...
Indeed... the game had it all. Humor, action, a fascinating gameplay, a cartoonish entertaining story, and an overwhelming voice acting (for its genre)
It's because he's probably recording it and the voice recorder is catching everything in the background. Just an error in the tech stuff... That's the only way I know how to explain it. XD

One of my first favorite RPG's! I had 32 hours of this game saved on one of my old memory cards like 10 years back. I borrowed this game from a freind so I had to give it back and then like 1, 2 years later someone deleted my save file, Grrr! So I wanted to get the game, but I forgot the name of it, for like 8 years up until today by describing this game to a new friend of mine. All in all, VERY awesome game, and it brings back great memories. Now I can get this game back! :D.

SquareSoft is dead, Enix was always far inferior, and due to an unfortunate turn of events, Enix was able to use Square's reputation and name to release (inferior) Enix style games to mass sales... and since the mass population consists of idiots, most are none-the-wiser. @toriyamaZ Dragon Quest games are far inferior to Final Fantasy games? Terranigma is far inferior to Chrono Trigger? And when Square was on the verge of bankruptcy, Enix was still worse? I know you have an opinion, but when you flaunt your opinion like it's fact, make sure you include actual facts. Enix games were, and still are, fun. So are Square games. The companies, from a gamer's perspective, should have stayed separate. It's like if Sega and Nintendo made games together in the 90s.
@toriyamaZ So true. Square was a dedicated video game developer. Enix was not strictly a video game developer. They also did manga and anime. Totally with you on them being separate. Enix games were better off without Square's influence and vice versa. Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile, and Dragon Quest are superior games to many of the later Square releases. Square's glory years are usually from the SNES years and early PSX releases. If you disagree, I will be led to believe that you are a new gamer

One of my first favorite RPG's! I had 32 hours of this game saved on one of my old memory cards like 10 years back. I borrowed this game from a freind so I had to give it back and then like 1, 2 years later someone deleted my save file, Grrr! So I wanted to get the game, but I forgot the name of it, for like 8 years up until today by describing this game to a new friend of mine. All in all, VERY awesome game, and it brings back great memories. Now I can get this game back! :D.

nah furreal, is there a tee shirt that has that phrase on it? SquareSoft is dead, Enix was always far inferior, and due to an unfortunate turn of events, Enix was able to use Square's reputation and name to release (inferior) Enix style games to mass sales... and since the mass population consists of idiots, most are none-the-wiser. "ooh its called final fantasy, must be good, right!?"

@toriyamaZ Dragon Quest games are far inferior to Final Fantasy games? Terranigma is far inferior to Chrono Trigger? And when Square was on the verge of bankruptcy, Enix was still worse? I know you have an opinion, but when you flaunt your opinion like it's fact, make sure you include actual facts. Enix games were, and still are, fun. So are Square games. The companies, from a gamer's perspective, should have stayed separate. It's like if Sega and Nintendo made games together in the 90s.

@toriyamaZ So true. Square was a dedicated video game developer. Enix was not strictly a video game developer. They also did manga and anime. Totally with you on them being separate. Enix games were better off without Square's influence and vice versa. Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile, and Dragon Quest are superior games to many of the later Square releases. Square's glory years are usually from the SNES years and early PSX releases. If you disagree, I will be led to believe that you are a new gamer
