  • I love this video! very funny. and as always NICK IS HOT!

  • to be continued?

  • another song that should have been a top 10 hit like election day

  • Ah Nick, I love you; I really do! x

  • funniest and well done- love it!!

  • At about 1:20 Nick looks like an extremely gorgeous facepalming version of Peter Facinelli a la Carlisle Cullen. I adore this video though, so funny and Rocky Horror-esque and a great song to base it all on.

  • Y'know, it kind of looks like the trailer for a film - Simon would play the 'not-so-mad-scientist' and Nick would be the host at a celebration of something in his house... or maybe a reunion, and John would be an unprofessional magician who was trying to get somebody to sign something which was well-meant but goes horribly, and comically, WRONG.

  • Ha ha, John Taylor " sign on the dotted line " Nick : That guy looks familiar.

  • Great and timeless album

  • "vengo de la tierra del fuego, ten cuidado cuando llamas mi nombre" que raro.

  • I havent thought about Arcadia in years. So great to see this video again. Nick was just awesome in it and Simon played the nerd way too well. LOL Thanks so much for putting this up on youtube!! Brought back some great memories!!

  • Happy Halloween

  • Simon is so funny in this vid XD

  • Anybody else notice John Taylor making an appearance at 2:28. It was only Simon, Nick and Roger in Arcadia. Wonder if thats a sumbliminal message?

  • @PaulCoLeeds T'was a diss to Andy Taylor.

  • Love this video, would have be great if they had mad a film like this. I love the song too!! x x x

  • @sulanash3 Lovely girl you are.

  • 1:56...Such a beautiful smile Nick!!!

  • It's spooky how Draco from the Harry Potter series looks like Nick does on this video.

  • oh Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad!

  • sometimes cards are drawn, and the tables turn, the waiting game is over...

Let's take this dealer's hand and steal away the dawn...

  • I always thought Duran Duran should have a variety show with guests, performances, and comedy skits. it would be great!

  • simon makes a sexy nerd. I laugh my ass off everytime. genius.

  • @MegaSarcastica Yes he does. He can be the Brad to my Janet any time.

  • That blond dude looks like Geese Howard lol

  • I think I spotted John Taylor at one part...looked just like him :O at 2:31 .... I'm probably wrong lol....This is such a cute video, Nick and his image, I adore him, always with a different hair color and style :)

  • @SkyCrueSixxy Um . . . you're right you know. That is indeed John "Play-The-Fookin'-Bass" Taylor . . .

  • @SkyCrueSixxy

Yes, it's definitely that magnificiently gorgeous man, John Taylor you see that makes a cameo appearance in this video! :D

I've been a fan of his since 1982 and he's still HOT even today. :)

  • @arigatoMJ .....JT is such a babe, I totally love him to pieces heheeh!!

  • Comment removed

  • @SkyCrueSixxy Yes it was John. This is an especially pointed inside joke, as it was around this time that the three remaining Duran Duran members were preparing to write and record their next album, Notorious, while in legal negotiations with their now-estranged guitarist Andy Taylor.

  • I never even knew this video exsisted! This was my favourite 'So Red the Rose' track. What a lovely surprise. SLB is pure eye candy.

  • It's been ages since I've seen this video. And it still cracks me up. So fun.

  • Nick Rhodes is smiling at 1:58! I Have never seen him smiling! Funny guys ;-)

  • Love the cameo by John Taylor at 2:29!

  • I've heard of this video , but I've never seen it. I like it and makes me laughing. Simon Le Bon as nerd....very funny.

  • nick looks gorgeous on this vid

  • @keanegazing Nick is insanely beautiful and sexy!

  • @keanegazing Nick is insanely beautiful and sexy!

  • new band i found

  • fantastic video!!!

  • Nick Rhodes' house of horrors!! haha

  • Which video followed this one up from the album - it says "to be continued" at the end of the video? Does anyone know?

  • @jay2004a I'm pretty sure there was never a continuation. I would've known it at the time. There was apparently a video for their next single "Missing" but the band wasn't in it. :( I would love to see a sequel to this!

  • WOW! I love this song, but I did'n have idea of this vid! Thx for post, great!

  • "Vengo de la tierra del fuego . . . ten MUCHO cuidado cuando llamas mi nombre . . ." THIS IS ONE OF THOSE GREAT SONGS!

  • @GreatGuyTN HAHA is THAT what she's saying? I knew it was Spanish but had no idea how to even begin to figure out the words because I know NO Spanish. Now can you tell me what the chick is saying in "Election Day"? Something about bat waves and a lover's trance? Probably way off on that.

  • @tortured74 Yeah, took me a few times years ago when I DID speak Spanish but then once I knew, Grace sounds so sexy, I never forgot it. ROUGH translation: I come from (I'm from) the land of fire (Hell??) -- be careful when you call my name.

  • oh how I loooove this song and video...Simon is so cute.. and always with his amazing voice

  • @chup1972 <3<3<3

  • It's one of the footnotes to the Rowling epic that before she married Lucius and gave birth to little Draco, Narcissa Malfoy dated Lucius's little-known younger brother, Nicholas. Nicholas, sadly, met with an untimely end after complaining a bit too long and too loudly of Death Eaters dropping in in the middle of dinner, wanting him to sign his contract to serve the Dark Lord.

  • those 8 dislikes must be power station fans

  • This was an awesome album! I need to listen to it again all the way through. Always artistic videos.

  • Absolutely brilliant!!

  • Comment removed

  • I'd forgotten all about this song. And it is so awesome!

  • John Taylor contract sign on 2.31 !!!

  • Love this video. Especially the cameo by John. You could always count on the Durans to deliver the goods in their videos. I know this is Arcadia, but it's still no exception. Deliciously funny.

  • j'en arrive à me demander si Arcadia n'est pas la quintessence de DD

  • Awesome vid..and album!!

  • Love the Rocky Horror-ish influence. Simon in glasses!!! Hilarious!! Nick, georgeous as ever!!! Love the video!!

  • @myfairyking1 Glad to know I'm not the *only* one to notice that !!!!

I've tried picturing DD as "RHPS"...Simon would be "most likely" to play either *Rocky* or *Franknfurter* !!! Kinky man !!!

This is up there as my fave vid of all time...I love seeing "evil Nick"...;)

    *hugs*

    LadyM

  • Sounds like "View To A Kill"

  • has always been my fave track from Arcadia...so silly yet so fun!

  • Simon & Nick are both Sexy & Yummy in this. How I wish they would have Done More than 1 Album it wasn't enough. Anyway still Fabulous after all these years.

  • Love this video

    Love Duran Duran

  • I wish I could fly back to the eighties and stay there forever....

  • Nick's smile... :3

  • I have loved this song and video since i was a kid, but even now, as an adult, i cant understand the connection between the video and lyrics..

  • @HMSa77 I seem to remember, way back when, an interview of Nick saying they tried very hard to make their videos not match the lyrics. Too predictable or something like that.

I think this Rocky Horror-esque video was hilarious! I love the fact that they can be sooooo serious for some videos and then turn around and act so silly in others. BTW, Simon was always my fave!! :)

  • got the album and cd since 1985, fantastic still today compared to today's crapmusic... greetz from holland.

  • So amazingly humourous yet sophisticated.

So shows why the 80's is THE decade and why everyone is trying to emulate it.

  • would be great if Nick wrote a "musical" film ala Tommy/Xanadu

  • the first time I saw this video, I was watching it with my cousin at my aunt's house. My aunt came in to say she was leaving for work & then she said "If Simon's planning to audition for the lead in the Buddy Holly Story, would you ladies mind telling him that Gary Busey already got it?" lol

  • Nice to see John Taylor coming out of the closet.

  • Ah, they don't videos like that anymore! I was just thinking about this video, and here it is. Brings back great memories. Is that Grace Jones doing the voice at the beginning? You won't get videos like this anymore, People don't buy music in the volume that they used too, so they don't have the budgets. Still, at least artists made the most of it while they still could. It looks dated, but it still has a real charm. Wonderful.

  • Simon is a HOT looking dork in this video! And I love John's cameo!

  • @jeanreinhart I know, right? Simon is adorable. And Nick is hilarious.

  • @casheasy I do not know how old you are but when this cd came out people thought Duran Duran was breaking up. NIck and SImon went on to record Arcadia while JOhn and Andy did Power Station. Roger played in Arcadia but it is mostly Simon and Nick..

  • I love the 80's

  • Nick is so cute in this video!!! Simon is very funny... A like this video!

  • achei bárbaro!!! reuniram os integrantes do DD no clip do Arcadia, qdo os projetos tinham propostas diferentes! E a cena em q eles revivem, por darem reward na fita!

    kkkkkkkk

    lovely!

  • This song sounds like an outtake from "A view to a kill :))

  • ASQUEROSO

  • Love the parody of Rocky Horror!!!

  • Great song. Great video. Did they get this inspiration from the movie "Murder by Death?" That's what it reminds me of. Great use of John in the vid as well lol.

  • Simon is HOT like fire!!

  • Comment removed

  • I GET GOOSEBUMPS WHEN I HEAR THEIR MUSIC .....BRINGS BACK LOTS OF MEMORIES....LOVE IT TO DEATH....THANKS TO YOUTUBE...

  • @SuperHandsam This video is absolutely hilarious. And who knew Nick and Simon were such natural actors? Simon makes an adorable nerd! If only the nerds at my school were like that. :-)

  • @SuperHandsam

    Try Depeche Mode mate :P

No, seriously I agree cause these guys was the backbone of my musical education back then (among others) and I was so sad when they couldn't get to terms within Duran Duran and sadly Arcadia didn't make it for more than a year and a half afterwards ... but they get props up from me both as they rocked the shit out of the late 80's and yearly 90's ... d a m n was about to go nasty on ya'll :P

  • God, I'd give my right arm to be in that closet with John. Okay, just my right finger, the arm missing might freak him out.

  • @jtssteph I am roflmao right now! I was thinking the same thing! His smirk STILL goes right through me, and I'd love to make out with him in that closet....

  • Demasiado bueno!

  • Reminds me a lot of View to A Kill.

  • loved the JT cameo :-D

  • Great Song, great video, great performance. Damn wish i was there :-)

  • and simon is so funny, i love this!

  • OMG! Nick Is Hot!

  • >You stick to Duran Duran;

    and what about you?

  • i know.

    and John.

  • I always knew Simon LeBon had a comedic sense about him.

  • 1993 and 2000.

I am made to stick to them

  • >You stick to Duran Duran; don't worry about what anyone else thinks.

I said Good bye twice!!there made somewhat TIE to them・・・

  • JT is in the houseee !!!

  • brad and janet, at frankinfurter's -

    thanks -

    ttmot

    148665

  • @ttmot Hell yes. Just call me Dr. Frankenfurter. >:-)

  • WOW! I LOVE NICK RHODES! HES YUMMY!.. Im only 13 as well.. 80's and 90's is the best music there is.. not todays r 'n' b.. And justin Beiber.. Love Duran Duran, Acardia and Japan!

  • @BassForLife666 i feel the same way and im 12 xD

  • @BassForLife666 Woo! good for you! I'm 15 and Duran Duran / Arcadia are one of my favorite bands! *high fives* :D

  • @xCheezyNoodlesx Highest of Fives* ;D We have AMAZING taste in music then, don't we? (:

  • @BassForLife666 Totally! It definitely beats what everyone seems to listen to nowadays =)

  • @xCheezyNoodlesx Of cousre it does! (:

  • @BassForLife666 to be so young i have to say you have very good taste in music.. at your age i didnt know japan (they were not famous in italy) and im double your age!

  • @BassForLife666 You have nice taste. I remember when this came out in the 80s-Duran Duran, Japan, Ultravox, some of my favourite bands. I still love the 80s-that is mostly what I still listen to. Oh, btw, I think Justin Beiber, well, he sounds like crap, and he is not that good looking-now, Nick Rhodes, Adam Ant, David Sylvian, now we are talking!!!

  • @BassForLife666 you're a cool 13 year old! ;-)

  • @BassForLife666

I'm 40 now and still love Nick! Kudos for liking Japan. I think they're too underrated. David Sylvian has such a stunning voice. There's a live Top of the Pops type video posted here for Ghosts, which you should check out.

  • @BassForLife666

Hello sorry I do not want to contradict you but the best music is and always will be that of 80!!

  • @jazcrazzy3:- Nick Rhodes is my fav member of the band; always has been. I admire him so much. Such intelligence, invention, vision & talent. Wish I could marry him LOL!

  • @goodanswergoodanswer I Love them all , If I had to pick i would pick Andy. I would marry any of them they all have intelligence, invention, vision, talent & they're all good looking ;D

  • Comment removed

  • I know a little too much about Duran Duran..... i even know Nicks cats name...it's name is Sebastian xP

  • @jazcrazzy3: You stick to Duran Duran; don't worry about what anyone else thinks. They're infinitely more interesting than a history lesson :)

  • @goodanswergoodanswer i will...... you seem cool xD i like you

  • @jazcrazzy3:- Wow, that's admirable! It's great to see young men & women appreciating Duran Duran & other bands from a by-gone era. Most of the music today, for me, just doesn't cut it. I've been a die-hard hard Duranie since 1981. I absolutely worship them. I'm 43 now, :)

  • @goodanswergoodanswer IM A DIE-HARD DURANIE TOO xP and thank you.... Not many people like how im into this music , they think that i should get A++ on History or something instead of a Duranie quiz xD

  • @jazcrazzy3 Add me to the 'DIE-HARD DURANIE' club! My liscense plate says "Duranie"...does that make me a life-time member???

  • @jtssteph WELCOME TO THE CLUB :D!

  • It's made me so happy to see this again, So Red the Rose was such an awesome album and this video is hilarious - great to see stuff like this on youtube, thanks for posting it :-)

  • OMG!!!!!! Looooooooooooove Arcadia, particularly this song. Awesome remix and what can I say?? Nick looks sooo stunning in this vid. ABSOLUTELY FAB AND HOT, HOT, HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This a song that lts you know that D2, owned the 80's

  • @jazcrazzy3:- Think he wanted to be in the background for a while. He was physically exhausted due to the frenetic pace of Duran Duran's rise to stardom over the previous 5 years. He left after this album returning some 15 years later in 2001.

  • @goodanswergoodanswer you know your ♥Duran Duran♥ ....im a BIG fan too. I know more than almost anyone when it comes to music from the 60s-80s (mostly Rock / Pop) and im only 12 xD

  • Yes its quite mistery Lol

  • Where is Roger in all of Arcadia's videos

  • Duran Duran has always been my favorite group in the 80s. Nobody can make such good music like this and not this crap of music that is coming out now.

  • i also got recent delux album.

    Disc2 is so enjoyable

    No dull.

  • Always loved Arcadia. Great band, great record.

  • I just bought the album, second time out,it' s great !!! This is the best pop song on that album...marvelous...fantastic clip with great acting perfomances of simon and nick... love it

  • SIMON ;

you learned acting in Uni, Good!

  • Nick is as cute as hell. Just want to hug him to bits. He is soooooooooooo lovely.

  • :O John Taylor in this <3 love him!!!!

  • Fantastic

  • i love nick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Love Duran Duran; love Arcadia. "So Red The Rose" was one hell of a classy, smart album. Let's hope it's more appreciated second time around.

  • simon looks gorgeous in this vid, and little nick looks so adorable :)

  • hot hot hot..love SLB but Nick does look amazing!!

  • SIMON IS HOT!!

  • John Taylor is in this !

  • dont think arcadia was as good as power station!! god i gonna get shit for sayoing that!!. but power station had an incredible album!!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!

  • lp version is where it's at!VINAL of course.

  • This is what pop music is about. My favourite band. Arcadia became the better version of Duran Duran even though it was a short lived project. This song is awesome. Ahhh the memories....

  • @PilotAce74 I thought "Arcadia" was a bit more creative and ethereal than some of Duran Duran's material.

  • How bad is it that my first thought was "Castles don't have phones, a**hole!" followed by "holy crap! It's Simon LeBon playing Brad!"

  • Arcadia/Duran Duran always made a killer video back in the 80's. I wish pop music was still good like this and not the crap that is out now.
