  • how did you get the pictures. i dont know how to get them from videos

  • It helped a lot. I use WMM, but you can do all that with it.

  • seems like a lot of work

  • now this is kick ass right here.

  • to be fair it depends what animes you use some animes the characters mouth move faster than others

  • @cutelittlechibi1 if you break it down in vegas frame by frame, you can almost always find a section that can use this method, with any scene, and if doesn't work, masking is always an option.

  • @ZeroDoesntAfraidOfYT thanks this way seems alot easyer

  • why are you so epic?

  • Thanks you taught me some easier techniques!

  • Thanks for the help. This will certainly help for my abridged series. But, say I want to lip sync someone while, say, their arm is moving. How would I put a mouth on another moving video.

  • @thesupersmashbro it takes some practice but masking works well, it's easy to learn, hard to master, but take enough time and I'm sure it'll work great for you.

  • How do i cut the video to the right part? Subclips right?

  • OMG !!! noo way i din noo u cud do dat wit sony vegas : O noo way and i always wud get truoble doing lip flaps thanks sooo much dude X) im doin and abriged series and dis techniques is goin2 come in handy o also im looking forward2 u guys shugo chara abriged ^^

  • There's a better option for when you need the mouth closed or a still image rather than making a file from Vegas. Make a clip that's ONE frame of the person with a closed mouth (in this case Shinji). Next, right-click and go to Select Envelope (I think that's it's called) and click "Velocity". You'll see a green line on your clip, right click one end of the line and select "Set to..." and put "0%". Now you can extend the clip as long as you want and it won't move. You don't need a snapshot.

  • @Sephirex ah nice option, I'll have to try that

  • @Sephirex

I use this method as well, it provides a lot more freedom when it comes to complex editing, plus you won't needlessly take up space in the Project Media section.

  • @zerodoesntafraidofyt can you do a tutorial video for masking?

  • @satenshi i might, tho it's fairly easy to learn, but i could go in detail on complicated stuff lolz

  • I do it a bit differently

I have a closed mouth clip of the character over the whole line and then paste fast single lip flaps over top of it. It is really fast, easy and looks nice

  • So how many frames do you use for each type of mouth? Open half, open, closed?

  • So how many frames do you use per type of mouth? Open half, open, closed? To make that movement work? I use KdenLive and that works slightly differently.

  • I find that changing the velocity of a clip to 0% is more effective than simply converting it to a still frame, and it allows for more freedom when it comes to editing.

But that's just me. Your method is still effective ^_^

  • Wow thanks a lot Zero! This was very helpful.

  • Hmmm... Your method is indeed different from mine

I mean, with the exception of the use of the three mouth frames XP

  • So this is how u do it. Probably better than my way

  • @ChimeraYuri What is your way?

  • @LindaDanvers I let it play till I need it to stop then put mouth close

  • @ChimeraYuri I used to do it that way, it works but only to a certain extent. Try this way out, it's easy to do just time consuming lolz

  • Thanks for the tutorial Zero, I'm gonna try this out now

  • FIRST!

  • @ZeroDoesntAfraidOfYT that hearts thoose loserz
