Why is it that nobody ever cares about the poor little doggies. Personally, I think that Zsa Zsa was the heroine, going in there to save Pookie. Sure, Zsa Zsa was was a mean bitch. But the other two ended up being worse.
LOL.......I like the way she thinks nothing of walking into a frame that takes you back 50 million years. This is very similar to the Twilight Zone episode where they find a passage way to another dimension in a little kids bedroom....i think it was called Little Girl Lost
what happened to the scene, where the cat, was watching the dinasours, fight and fall off a cliff, into a river ? This was just on, in my area, and that scene is missing from this.
@glencoe6305 YOU REMEBER THAT TOO??? GREAT!!! then its not just my imagenation i don't know i was as suprised as you not to see it maybe its in another show
@glencoe6305 I remember watching this about 25 years ago and in my opinion, that cat scene was the best part of the episode. It was the first thing I looked for but there it was...gone!
5:42 .. wonder what the rest of that thing looked like ( thats what she screamed at I think ) ? Ya know, theres something really effective about only partialy showing a monster.
What's so amazing about this episode is that she doesn't seem to care about the fact that she stepped into some prehistoric netherworld - she only cares about finding her precious "Pookie"-
Great!! Zsa Zsa is epic in this...I'll bet that's the closest she ever got to a thrift store in her life! I do take issue to painting poor Pookie up in the mirror...the old man should have left a tiny corner of the bottom unpainted and at the very end, Pookie trots out unscathed and leaves his horrible owner to her fate! Oh well, maybe the Marshalls or Chaka will find and adopt him!
it would be funny if years later, he still has the bisiness, and he finds the mirror, scrapes of the paint, and finds her skeleton in the dress near the entrance, looking as if she was banging on the mirror!!!
@Rabbit0 This show was definately on Sci-Fi. They ran it for a few years from when that channel began in the early 90's ( it was one of the earliest shows that it featured ).
this one is odd... i dont quite get how they werent freaked out that it was like a door to another realm or something. something i dont understand or bad acting? either way, nice ep.
And so Zsa Zsa ran through a pre-historic jungle in her high heels looking for her lap dog, unfazed, and then asking the immortal question "Are you in that cave?"
Loved this when I saw it as a kid. They were some scenes missing from this episode though. I recall when the cat went through the mirror, it wandered around a bit and watched dinosaurs fighting and then ran back out. Maybe the scenes were deleted in syndication to shorten the length of the episode.
When all is said and done, this is pretty feeble stuff on every level. Night Gallery was often intelligent and spine tingling- but this is just poor. It has a certain "camp" appeal I guess if you like that sort of thing...but only because of its inadequacies, I'm afraid...
That's a good point. If I wrote that episode I would have had Zsa Zsa say "What is this place? Ah-- It's those damn hippies that moved in next door. I'll find my pooky!!"
NIGHT GALLERY was a festival for the creative writer as it did'nt have to adhere to the laws of physics.

Would have liked to seen a spinoff staring Zsa Zsa as the Amazonian Queen of the Prehistoric Jungle People! (guest starring Pookie XD)

Yeah, it's almost comical how Zsa Zsa just runs into what she thinks is a painting without a second thought.

Love these old shows. Camp maybe, but that's infinitely preferable to the blandness of today's TV.

You see cats are smarter than dogs. Cat went, in took one look and split. Stupid dog ran in after its ball and got eaten.

Rad, leave the miserable old bitch in the Land 0f the Lost.
I think there were a TV show called the Land of the Lost when I were a little girl in the 80's.
Jackalman99 2 years ago
Land of the Lost came out in the 70's, but they did do a remake in the 80's, and now a big budget movie with Will Farrell.
theScytheofGod 2 years ago
Maybe it went into reruns on cable or something. I remember the series but, wasn't born until 1980.
