  • IQ also has a cultural component.

  • Hire him to fix the world economy.

  • hes gettin bored with the interview

  • Asperger detected

  • he is so smart he realizes the rest of us are fucked

  • he looks depressed

  • Interview starts at 0:38, after the ridiculously long and senseless introduction video.

  • what has all this talk about jews to do with Magnus Carlsen? He's not a jew, just an ordinary Norwegian.

  • What's the name of the intro's song? Anybody knows??

  • @ruinsofkunark I will give you the link to the study if I can locate it, it's been a while since I read it. Anyways, IQ measures intelligence, assuming we define intelligence as one's ability to learn. IQ does not necessarily correlate with actual knowledge, but it has been shown to accurately estimate someone's ability to learn, and also to recognize patterns. I generally dismiss "multiple intelligence" theories, as the tests are based on "what you like to do" questions.

  • I can totally kick his ass...in nintendo.

  • What's the music?

  • @happydelicious stfu

  • @damthatriver09 No dumb ass that was what I told your mother when I was pumping her hard so that she wouldn't wake you up. But did she listen to me my little punk bitch?...of course not. I was giving her too much pleasure. Blame your whore mother, not me.

  • @happydelicious angry faggot LMAO.

  • @damthatriver09 You're just jealous that you can't have my cock up your ass like your mom has mine in her twat.

  • @happydelicious damn you're stupid.

  • @happydelicious Their's a reason why the majority of GMs are Jews, and that's because they're talented. To reach the levels of Gary Kasparov, Bobby Fischer, Boris Gefland, Aaron Nimzovich, and Mikail Botvinnik, you can't just be "overstudied". That's a bunch of bullshit coming from a jealous racist prick. The game isn't "owned" by whites, anybody can participate, and if whites can't match up to Jews and Asians, then so be it.

  • @CommunityCam

Yeah right, all Jews are talented what are you on about?

  • @AlltimeTrance I'm not saying all Jews are talented. He said that chess is run by a bunch of over studied Jews and Asians, and I said that you can't reach the level of "insert name from race" by just being over studied. I didn't mean for it to come off as saying Jews are superior, I was merely saying that the Jews (and Asians, I just couldn't name any Asian GMs at that moment) who are in the chess world can be just as talented (if not more) then whites, and that whites don't own the game.

  • @CommunityCam

Cool, yeah sorry to jump on you like that.

  • @CommunityCam Just to clarify, Jews are not a race, Judism is a religion. It's like saying Catholics are a race. And on the subject of Asian and Jews being better at chess... it's sterotyping if it's true. I mean look at the Soviet Union, they dominated the chess scene in the 60-80s. I mean totally dominated for the exception of Fischer coming along and saving face. Is this to say Russians are superior?

  • @Josho4096 As a Jew, I'm going to have to disagree. Judaism is indeed a race. I'm an ashkenazi Jew, which for instance, puts me at a greater risk for certain diseases. This shows that Ashkenazis are a race. They also have their own distinct average IQ, physical abilities, etc. Ashkenazis are not the only race of Jews, but all of them are 100 times more related then to any other race of humans. Jews are indeed a race, and happen to have the highest average IQ of any race, followed by Asians.

  • @CommunityCam No, Judaism is a religion, google it. When they ask you to choose a race, for example in a job application, Judaism is NOT there. Your reason for it being a race makes no sense. So because a certain faction of Jews are proned to diseases makes them a race? So people with HIV are another race? Because they all are proned to die with any disease. The reason Jews are alike is because in they almost never procreate outside the faith so common traits will show every generation.

  • @Josho4096 You don't understand do you... it is medically recognized that Jews are a different race, which is why they've found that Jews and only Jews are more prone to certain types of diseases, and are more immune to others. It's no coincidence that they are more prone/immune to certain diseases while other races have their own traits. Also, Jews don't look exactly like Europeans, they have bigger eyes, distinct noses (since they're origins are in the mountains) and all sorts of other things.

  • @CommunityCam Race is a genetic distinction, and refers to people with shared ancestry and shared genetic traits. You can't change your race; it's in your DNA. I could never become black or Asian no matter how much I might want to.Common ancestry is not required to be a Jew. Many Jews worldwide share common ancestry, as shown by genetic research; however, you can be a Jew without sharing this common ancestry, for example, by converting.

  • @Josho4096 I've said that you can be a Jew who converted and in that case you're not part of the Jewish race. However if your ancestors were Jews for many generations then you are indeed part of the Jewish race.

  • @CommunityCam Jew is not a race but a religion the race is Hebrew its one of those all Jews are of Hebrew decent but not all Hebrews are Jewish although its still kinda confusing to me i believe they refer to gentiles who convert to jewdiism reform Jews........ sorry for any misspellings

  • @CommunityCam Thus, although I could never become black or Asian, blacks and Asians have become Jews Sammy Davis Jr. and Connie Chung

  • @Josho4096 Having a higher average IQ predisposes them to be better at things such as chess, which is why you'll notice that even though Jews are 0.02% of the world's population, they make up around 50% of the world's greatest chess players. It's no coincidence. I know anybody can convert to Judism, in which case they aren't part of the race, but if you're an Ashenazi or Sephardic Jew (there are other I just can't remember them), then you are indeed part of the Jewish RACE.

  • @CommunityCam Now the higher I.Q. I wont argue because it depends like I aid before in the environment children of a certain community are raised in. I'm an American but I have to admit the children here are among the dumbest in the world. Not for lack of $, mental ability, or anyhting, just the environment. TV, video games, and lazy parents are at fault. But you cant say Americans are a race because of their common low I.Q. No, they are a mixture of races.

  • @Josho4096 Like I said, the test was done for people who had similar education levels and similar living conditions. I understand what you're saying, but this study was conducted very carefully to make sure that education did not effect their IQ scoring. Plus it should be mentioned that this study was conducted cross country and they took an average from all those different countries. Also, it has an effect, but you should know that education doesn't effect IQ all that much.

  • @CommunityCam Jews are NOT superior in IQ to other races. Just get over it.

  • @odingr Well, recent studies based on the correlation between race and IQ seem to disagree. Why don't you google it.

  • @CommunityCam i did google it . Average iq for all people is pretty much 100 . Its a reverse-racism stereotype just like as saying that black guys have bigger penises.

  • @odingr I suggest googling it again. Average IQ for blacks is 85. Average IQ for whites is 100. Also, google the penis size thing again. Blacks, on average, DO have bigger penises.

  • @Josho4096 I know it only promotes the stereotypes, but it is actually true that Jews and Asians are the smartest people on Earth according to average IQ. 1.Jews 2.Asians 3.White Europeans. This is according to a recent study based on thousands of results. Also it should be noted that IQ was measure from people who are equally wealth and have equal education.

  • @CommunityCam Not because you're born Russian but because you are in an environment/culture where chess is played at a high level. I mean, America has the best basketball players. Doesnt mean all Americans are Lebron James or MJ, it also doesnt mean Europeans are not good.

  • @CommunityCam

Luke McShane is a great english player, he beat Magnus recently.

  • MAGNUS NOOBus

  • he is ugly

  • @yuriDL im uglier.

  • @yuriDL your mom is ugly

  • he's soooo hot!

  • Deam so young and so high rated ...must be a jenious

  • "Of course it is important for a chess player to be intelligent, but being too intelligent can also be a burden."- Magnus FUKKEN Carlsen

  • Great Champ !

  • The best chess player, soon to reach even Kasparov's rating, he is now -30 I believe.

On his way to beat YET another historical landmark in the chess community.

    Stå på :D

  • Carlsen Has Potential ill give him that

  • He's good but he seems better at blitz more than standard

  • THE MATT DAMON OF CHESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Well he is clearly not wasting his life. At his level he's making tons of money. But I have met chessplayers who were masters who hardly made any money in chess. It seems that there is, in America at least, the idea that there is no money in chess and this is only partially true. It is like any sport where the cream of the crop does very well, then there are players doing pretty well, and the majority can't afford to do it full time.

  • @cracknik Chess isn't a sport - its a game!

  • @SPIDERMAN253LBS The Olympics would have to disagree with you on that part :P

  • @AngrySportsFan They don't though!

  • @SPIDERMAN253LBS Nope, Chess is considered a sport by the Olympics

  • @SPIDERMAN253LBS yes, it's a game but it's also considered as a sport..

  • @MSK2232 Only by chess players, and not all of them think of it as a sport. Its not a sport, its a game. If it was then we would have to have quizzes as sports and maths competitions as sports, there not so chess isn't either!

  • Karjakin will whoop him

  • Not likely anymore. Karjakin was better when him and Carlsen were at 2733 and 2734 Elo respectively, and they were evenly matched. However, as soon as Carlsen joined the 2800 club and started winning Grandmaster tournaments, Karjakin has been playing badly against him. Not to say Karjakin is a bad player, but he is more likely to blunder against stronger players, which is his only weakness.

  • chess at this level is pure agony.

and for the average player, hell.

  • i totally agree.. i am in awe by their play, yet i lose against the ms vista chess program..

jep... i suck at chess :P

  • @wubs23 hehe..

one thing i learned long ago and it ESPECIALLY applies to chess is this: do not study chess or spend anytime reading chess books etc.

because losing will alway happen and it will effect you the same way no matter how well you play.

the secret to chess and maybe life is to put your effert into things you must and just ENJOY the rest of all the other stuff!

  • Hey, where was this?

  • By the way, I like Magnus Carlsen's accent, heh heh.

  • Interesting name you have there

  • Thanks, BdizzleFaReal. Likewise!

But I want another name, I don't like fatesofgreedom. Perhaps ElectricDentures, or SonyFire, or VisuaLogic. I like the last one.

  • Why those names?

  • Oh, just my personal taste. Actually, since we are commenting on a chess video here, I should say it's a matter of personal style. Every chess player has their own style!

But you got me curious, because you seem to like the name fatesofgreedom. lol. Can I ask why?

  • Because I find a great deal of creativity and intelligence in the conceiving of that name. Because certain greed leads to certain fate and fate is something to me which has connotations of death and of course destiny. In any case, gatesoffreedom seems like your aren't limited to what will occur. It's difference of freewill and fate. Also, if it was your intention to make fatesoffgreedom by exchanging both the f and g with the intent of it to mean the opposite, then if taken literally

  • It would be attacking capitalism which i definitely support. But, i'm just talking to myself now and I still like the name even if it is anti-capitalism.

  • Wow! I like your analysis. Honestly.

It actually HAS occurred to me to think of it as fate or destiny that results from greedom (or "being greedy"). And it kind of makes you think. But you explained it much better than I ever could!

    Thanks, BdizzleFaReal. You're pretty smart!

  • This guy is possibly a future World CHampion

  • @subatom101 hes the world champion now !!!!

  • probably is a better word

  • @subatom101 this guy will be nearly immortal... trust me

  • i honestly love chess

im a tae kwon do fighter

and dont want to waste my life on chess becuz im too old to become a GM

i wish i can dedicate my life to chess becuz i love it that much

but i try to play as many games in a day as possible

its not a waste of time

i would if i could be at every chess event just to watch the greatests play

  • cracknik: chess isnt waste of time. It is a sport

  • chess is my life

  • ...modeling the thinking used in chess in chess programs.

Furthermore, AI is something which in theory can be applied to practical areas such as applied robotics in many different areas, e.g., construction, industrial work, farming, etc.

  • lol....to some people (like me) chess is much more grand and important than any other sport. I pay over $100 to watch the chess world championship online but I could care less about the world cup or the superbowl and they are free to watch. Magnus can easily make more money at chess than any engineer could hope to make...and also he gets to play the game he loves. Her is hardly wasting his life...he would be if he weren't playing chess IMHO.

  • "He has to be intelligent to play chess like this but why do geniuses waste their life at chess? I play when im bored but even if I was better [im rated 1860] I don't think I could waste my life on it."

Chess has innate value in itself, in its aesthetics, and its scientific aspects, which are both blended together. In addition to this, advanced work in chess has greatly contributed to the development of artificial intelligence, by...

  • Uh.... chess has greatly contributed to the devolopment of AI? I'd like a source or two

  • I don't understand, BdizzleForShizzle. Is it hard to believe that chess has contributed to the development of AI?

  • You don't need a fucking source for everything. How about IBM and Deep Blue? Might not fit your exact definition of AI but in terms of a computer emulating a human being and achieving parity in that particular area... it did quite well.

  • How did it emulate a human being exactly?

  • @BdizzleFaReal Absolutely true! It has been one of the driving forces behind the development of the field of AI..

  • "He has to be intelligent to play chess like this but why do geniuses waste their life at chess? I play when im bored but even if I was better [im rated 1860] I don't think I could waste my life on it."

The more you learn about chess the better you will appreciate its aesthetics.

  • not true, chess itself is life and even though I am still in school I might be considering making a living out of chess in the future. However chess is simply too competitive, there are too many of my fellow GMs out there and those guys are good, I mean they're really something and chess becomes more than a mere game at high level, it becomes a study.

  • someone who is rated 1860 has wasted a lot of his life playing chess. You don't get to that rating without alot of practice. What site are u rated 1860 on playin once in a while, it isnt an accurate fide rating

  • True, an 1860 will generally beat something like 96% of the population. You don't reach this level of strength via toying around with the game.

  • 1860 is probably gonna beat more than 96%. I'm rated 1700 and i struggle to find anyone I can play without crushing them. Unless I go online and play someone 100s or 1000s of miles away.

  • 1700 is nothing to brag about.

  • lol patzer's bragging, i love it

  • Clearly Carlsen does not consider it a waste of his life, so your last sentence is misleading. What's the point in becoming good at anything? Learning an instrument, a language... why don't you just let people follow their desires and get back to the important, thrilling work that you do.

  • @oldoddjobs Seriously. If you can make a living off of doing something what more can you ask for. Not everybody gets to be an Einstein or a Thomas Edison. You can only pursue what you enjoy/are good at and hope it works out for you later in life.

  • @oldoddjobs Couldent Agree more

  • Future world champion right there.

  • Unless he gets hit by a bus, or something.

  • hey, he look like me. same colours in eye and hair and same face unsept noise. lol im a chessplayer too but not that good.

  • "There are a lot of people who remember what i forget"! =D Don't despair kid.. you still have many bright chess years ahead. Carlsen to go after Anand trashed Kramnik!
