Not sure if this is because mine is newer. But in Windows 7 I get the DCIM folder and I can just grab the files straight from the cam. Got it for free for doing a newegg contest and for free... best quality video/sound ever.

Kinda, it's like you just stop the video and then shoot another one. Once you upload it to your computer using the flipshare software, and make a movie, it all just goes together.

Actully you can, I think, but only when your in editing you can get a picture while editing. You cant take them when you have the camera in your hand or anything.

Hey Great Review Shawn. I actually tried to import AVI files from my digital camera into Kino a few times and got impatient with the importing. Now I see why!!!! Good future reference for Kino. The battery swapping I'm kind of uncomfortable with, but for on the go, it's sounds like it's a good investment.

Thanks for making this video and posting it here. I enjoyed the way you demonstrated it out and about, as well as on the desktop.

The camera looks cool, but I don't care for the USB port as you demonstrated, my devices see a lot of wear and tear, and I've often had plastic or movable parts break.

I'd also like to see cameras which allow recharging from solar panels like the OLPC allows, and cranks/foot pedals.

Swapping and buying batteries all of the time is really a drag.

Regarding the USB "flip" thingy -- yeah, you have a point. I think a USB extension cable is best for connecting it, but the flip out connector will do in a pinch. (I like having options when I forget cables!)

Well, my computer is old, like, really old. It felt "standard" for the length of video. Doing other video work, like adding a logo, takes FOREVER too. I don't think the Flip, or Kino is to blame... ;)
