if you have the testingcheats enabled, you press shift and click on a staircase. You can then choose their walk style (happy, sad, angry, normal)

in the neighborhood screen (it has to be the neighborhood) you bring up the cheatbox and type

boolprop testingcheatsenabled true

be careful with it and don't do it too often -- only if you're moviemaking or something. otherwise it can seriously bug up your game.
