no offence but i have the sony tablet right now and i dont like it. laggy very often, has crashed twice on its own in one day, drops wifi connection A LOT! and most apps for it dont work as well as they should. especially skype that is so popular to anyone who has computers and mobile devices. it also doesnt even stay on the wifi when sleeping. nice design, but the ipad is way better. also the ipad should be thicker for a comfortable grip, its just too thin to hold up in one hand.

The iPad, iPhone and iTouch have great 3rd party support, but Android isn't too far behind, and offers more options than Apple. Android has a couple of tablets and phones from each big tech companies, and they all vary quite a lot, so you can pick up one that best suits you, instead of just choosing how much storage you want.
I caved in 2 days ago, i got an iPad2 to program. I plan to port to android later. What I said still stands.. I prefer the android OS and ability to work under Linux but the graphics power swung it. I figure i'll get a Kal-El 7" when they arrive, or an android smartphone. r.e. apple, i'm cursing them at the minute for ruining Expose+Spaces with Mission Control. grrr. it was perfect the way it used to work. Under linux i can pick whichever method i want :)

@skystealth11 well this has an amazing screen, but the battery life is lacking a little but i have three reasons why you would want this tablet...
1: because it has a usb port and SD card slot so you could store data on a usb stick/ SD card
2: you can connect it to your computer wirelessly and access information from your home computer if your in a meeting or something.
3: the shape of it makes it easy to type on.
my 2nd choice is a samsung galaxy tab 10.1
