  • The reason not to turn it off isn't cuz the turbo is hot. Its because it spins for a long ass time, so if you dont let your car idle after the turbo will still be spinning without oil feed. That's why it smokes so much, its probably blown. Idiot driver bouncing the rev limiter like an asshole.

  • Why there's alot of smoke?

  • that ain't really smart to turn off engine directly after that turbo might be fuckin hot

  • Are u guys stupid he obviously has catless that's the cause of smoke stock sti comes with two cats. Running catless causes popping noise as well.

  • Yo sound nice but I think u should get the HKS better

  • good shit dude, fuck it blow that sucker, = ), i get the same way with my subie

  • ffffaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrttttttt ffffffaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrtttttt fffaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrtttt

  • It's popping because the oxygen sensor hasn't heated up yet & the engine is running rich. Probably not the smartest idea.

  • why does it make that popping noise? My friends does that too lol, and i can't seem to figure it out

  • TAKE THAT REV LIMITER!

  • Look all Subaru haters... Subaru are monsters. You can build the engine up to 600hp and keep the stock transmission. That say alut to how good they are!

  • I don't care if it's bad for the car, I've always wanted to hear this.

Now I don't have to cry myself to sleep at night any more. Thank you.

  • your exhaust looks so small in this video. my boy got another 05 sti and everything on it is stock and his stock exhaust is bigger than that for some reason but sounds more or less the same

  • people you're hearing the rev limiter... the exact reason why the engine won't blow... STFU

  • i got an STI muffler finally on my 2002 and it still pretty quiet, no rumble like that.

is your gutted out? i believe my car has a stock cat some sord of down pipe, and factory resonator. how can i get it to sound deep like this??

  • fun cars. there ment to take a beating. but u never want to over do it. parts break and u have no money to fix ur out of luck. so if ur gonna be drive safley. and if u break shit either start learning ur self or spend money at a mechanic.

  • I wish i had that car i would never treat it like that.

  • @davielm1 Bro cars like this are ment to be treated like that... You break something, no problem you put an aftermarket better part in... I just put in forged pistons a month ago. Yeah it was costy 3.5k to put them in but hey now I got forged pistons that support up to 600whp so its always a win win situation. You always put better parts in not stock.

  • @elitescouter eventually you will have to get a new engine that would cost a ass load lol

  • @elitescouter True, 05 STi's and shit like that are meant to be blown the fuck up in racing, I'd much rather have a 93 subaru legacy with a WRX swap I have a 93 legacy with a leg motor + wrx exhaust kits with a glasspack + muffler and wrx suspention,

  • @elitescouter Have fun trying to sell it :D

  • @davielm1 its a fucking sports car, treat it like what? if you wanna baby a car then why not a 90hp geo and treat that nice, cars that put out 300hp arent meant to be granny driven retard

  • i really hope I can get this car, especially the 05

  • sounds fucking beastly. love that boxer engine

  • sounds nice for stock

  • yes you gona blow it..... and sell and next owner will get all shit

    remember all cars blow up

  • @MrGTR1988 It's no longer stock. I won't blow it and if I ever do well all parts are replacable. This car is payd off so it's mine. I don't see my self ever selling it.

  • ok .

  • haha a stock sti that backfires. niceee!!!!!!

  • @1englandnigga my stock wrx backfires when it's warm too. sit at a light, just burp the gas, and it's brummm puff pop popple

  • lol niceee!!!!

  • Best sounding 4 banger, hands down

  • Hey, I got a '00 2.2l Impreza a month back, and I'm wondering if I could swap an STi exhaust for the stock one I have on?

  • modified air intake dont fuck with these cars at all unless u no wut ur doing i listen to this kid and left it untuned. just air intake make it run to lean and with

  • I got an STI just spun a bearing cuz i stock exhaust not good this sounds quiet just like mine get a full turbo back if u want it to sound good and id avide u when revin dont hit red line too much ones in a whiles not bad. but DEF dont red line when u first start ur car ur car was cold it should not have been pushing out smoke ur GONNA BLOW IT UP if u rev high when its cold never mind red line ur gonna blow the turbo.

  • yes its so

  • oh noes....

  • hes right sti's dont blow up... well subarus dont blow up. The smokey part i really dont know about espcially at 47. but it did sound good and if u dont like it leave... Nice Whip

  • The smoke is probably not smoke. I'm guessing it's cold weather. Just the temp difference like your own breath.

  • STi's don't blow up. If maintained right they won't die on u. This was made by Japanese with quality not some made in china bullshit u find in american cars.

  • damn straight lol

  • @elitescouter no matter how well a car is made or where it is made it can still blow up if its treated like shit. I'm a wrx owner so i'm behind with the japanese quality though. Boxer engines ftw!

  • @TheNorthBest Well yeah you take any car to 40+ mph and shove it in reverse and dump your clutch ofcourse its going to break.

  • @elitescouter cars will not shift into reverse until the drive wheels are not spinning

  • Weeeeeeeell.. this was good for your car... =/

  • People who have more than 70 IQ, don't do that to a cold engine. And there's no black smokes, or other bizarre fart outs, when you farm it up at idle for 5 minutes.

  • Ugly smoke at 0:47... :)

  • In the Video Responses I got a new exhaust that sounds way better then my stock 1... Check it out

  • its sounds like your making popcorn in your muffler...

  • 2step FTW

  • na, i was bouncing off the rev limiter

  • Thats good for your car.

  • @NorCalN no

  • @NorCalN lol, i actually thought you were kidding for a sec...

  • i have to bye one of this cars yust 4 the sound :D

  • Please explain what yust means? Im educated but i want to be cool like you!

  • hahahahaha

  • You misspelled "I'm"...

    Mr. Educated Pants

  • shouldnt rev your car hard when its cold, the popping is from unburnt fuel

  • 1. it isnt anti-lag

    2. it isnt cause hes treating it wrong (althought revving on cold startup is shitty)

Its because STis just do it, my stock one does it. THey do it modified. It's just a turbo thing. It's doing it most noticably because its COLD!!!

  • personnaly i think its unburnt fuel..because the timing is out...caused by not treating your sti how you should...p.s. this aint a bad comment i dont treat my falcon any better xD (you should get it retuned)

  • your running rich too

  • its called anti lag. its common in wrc hence its integration into sti. the ecu changes the air fuel ratio to cause intenional detonation before the turbo to keep it spooled after throttle is gone. hopt that helped!!!! :) nice wrx btw

  • you're dumb.

sti's do NOT have anti lag.

  • hahahah ok mr. knowitall

  • yeah right. i certainly don't know it all.

but i'd say that saying an STi has anti lag is a pretty big mistake.

  • i was talking about newt , sry century you are right about it not being anti-lag

but subbies do have anti-lag systems that you can run... all it is a simple ecu adjustment retarding the timing causing a backfire.

it dosent just change air/fuel according to newt.

a flat 4 sounds way diffrent then a inline for. the popping is standard for every boxer engine :) people these days.... and it sounded like he still had a cat. so it WASNT ANTI-LAG!!!!!!!!

  • a vent to atmosphere blow off valve may cause the popping

  • nice sound! do you have a exhaust manifold and front pipe to make this sound? pls reply.

  • sounds nice. im hoping to be getting an sti soon :P

i dont think that is too good on your car to just jump in right away when its cold and start redlining it :P

  • Hehe I know what you mean =P, im just wondering why i'm poping on a stock exhaust.

  • u sometimes do pop on a standard pipe if there is incorect firing or unburnt fuel being ignited in the cat or nearer the back box. sounds mint tho n da redline is nice bt dnt do it to much ;)

  • why do all you sti guys gotta redline? it ruins the moment lol
