  • ??? 3 dislike??? I want their names!

  • @TheKonstantinLevin lol those 3 dislikes were the people that past out at their keyboards and accidentally hit the wrong button

  • @speratic1984 lol :)

  • legendary. Absolutely spectacular talent.

  • what blows my mind is that the state of popular music has bieber getting 400,000 million views and this has 70,000...and to top it all of there's 3 dislikes...WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • @ChristsDanimal777 One dislike was prolly Justin, the other two would be his mom and dad!

I cant even name one of that lil spoiled brats songs and proud of it.......

  • Steamy Ray Vaughn. Stevie Ray Vaughn...Oohhh...

  • Tightrope is probably one of the best solos ever, what's all this cover talk.

  • God,I so love part from 3:58!That's the true blues, true improvisation!

  • i could kick my own ass for not goin to see him when i had the chance...goes to show, if you get a chance to see someone so precious and so fooking righteous, DO NOT DECIDE TO STAY HOME THAT NIGHT...GO TO THE DAMNES SHOW FOOLS!!!!! lol

  • @beckyrooonio1 poor bastard..shit happens..

  • @beckyrooonio1 so sorry for you, we have to do with youtube, the great guy is now playing with Jimmy Hendricks for quite a long time allready

  • Have mmercy!

  • some one once said thats the whitest blackmen i ever saw

  • La grande classe!Respect Stevie!

  • Stevie Ray Vaughan Best Of The Bests !!!

  • Stevie Ray Vaughan Best Of The Bests !!!

  • Its amazing how he can use plenty of simple licks and then put his feeling and soul through them to make them all sound unique and different. god bless

  • @eliteslayer66 Soul is what it's all about....

  • God I love this video! One of my favorites from Stevie. So much heart and soul!! Just out of curiosity, does anybody know what he starts saying @3:57? I get goosebumps everytime it comes to that part. It's just undescribable!!

  • @pianoman88m At about 2:15 he transitions to "Dirty Pool", he tells his band at 2:25, at 3:57 the first lyrics are "True love is gone, I'se been played for a fool" x2 , then he skips to the last lyric: "I"m tellin' you one thing right now little baby, I won't be the one to pay for your mistakes".

  • @pianoman88m Dirty Pool.

  • People still play Bach, too. Covers, yeah...

  • This is Tru! :)

  • simply amazing artwork for the ear!!

  • É HUM MONSTRO DO BLUES, THE BIG...

  • bravo l'artiste

  • What most people don't get is that blues isn't really doing covers its more like learning old techniques and phrases that may otherwise be lost to time, most of these licks go back alot further than you would than you would think.

  • Say what you will, Stevie Ray was, is and will always be the greatest guitarist of all time.... any doubts....watch him play Texas Flood

  • First off SRV and Hip Hop should not be used in the same sentence. Let's clarify some things here. There are very few guitarists, if any who don't perform covers. And many of the greatest guitar players out there have built their careers from other peoples songs. Stevie had an ability to pick up a guitar and express his emotion through it. It was like an extension of his body. Why do you think so many guitar players on YouTube are trying to emulate his licks. His energy is what made him awesome.

  • Sometimes you just need to feel something, anything. It's easy to become indifferent or kind of mentally numb dealing with day to day kinda crap, but I put on Stevie Ray Vaughn and it's impossible not to feel my soul come back to life.

  • Blessed by God with phenomenal talent. This is truly the best in guitar playin I have ever experienced.

  • R.I.P

  • Just can't get enough of this. Every time I listen to it, it gets better. Thanks for keeping this posted. I remember the first time I heard ...(Absolutely phenomenal sound by the way) (and saw) this video and pt 1. I will continue returning as long as it's available. I've searched high and low for this entire Tokyo performance on dvd... no luck yet. :O( WHY isn't it available? or even on cd?

  • who gives a shit if anything is stolen.. he still played it like a mother fuckin badass!

  • its not about the COVERS its about SOUL BB BUDDY JOHN LEE HOWLIN WOLF STEVIE we can listen to them play the same song and it aint the same thats the BLUES dont get hung up on that covers word

  • ALL HAIL STEVI RAY

  • now that I watched part 2 "again" i can still die a happy man.....

RIP SRV ! WE WISH YOU WERE STILL AROUND TO SCHOOL THE SO CALLED NEW MUSICIANS TODAY !

  • When ever i've typed in Dirty pool i get a 3 minute version which smacks it none the less but i've often wondered why just 3 mins. Then when he turned his head and shouted dirty pool i was like OHHHH THAT MAKES SENSE

  • Living in south Texas i was able to see him twice. He was amazing live, and like this vid you were kinda speechless when his show was over.

  • SRV was THE best whiteman to play the blues and we'll never see anyone able to match him

i just wish i were older tha i am so i could of seen him live (i'm 26 now 6 when he died)

    r.i.p stevie

  • Love this man..his style..music..may he rest in peace..

  • Unlike Jimmy Page, SRV creditied the oringinal artist of songs.

  • absolutely incredible. took my breath away

  • Stevie is like Cash, if he does your song.......Guess what......It ain'T yours anymore!!!

  • mind blowing

  • lol @ his facial expression at 3:34

  • @Whiteman530 Well you try and play on .13 strings and ill bet you would shit your throusers trying to bend those strings btw if you really want to see an epic face you should watch bloody john mayer's face ffs XD

  • SRV certainly has a way of getting that guitar to reach deep into the soul and it is speaking to ME!!!

  • hair-raising ! ... :))

  • This performance is truly incredible. I've never seen anything like it. Good lord! He was amazing. Love you Stevie.

  • thanks so much for posting these....so much

  • Agreed. To say that SRV or others "stole" completely misses the point. Buddy Guy, Albert King, Willie Dixon and many others sell MORE now because of SRV. Stevie gives them credit, then people like me had to go find those other artists and their music that we would have missed had Stevie not turned us on to them.

  • Why does everyone say he robbed other people music just because he did covers of their songs. bands have been doing that for years and will continue to do if for years to come. SRV was by far one of the greatest guitar players in history. Even all the greats like Buddy Guy and BB King and Bonnie Raitt say he's amazing.

  • @dbutlerdub Who didn't do covers?! Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck built their glorious careers mostly if not entirely on covers and go on doing it. Hendrix did tons of covers. The old blues cats covered each other songs all the time or played pieces composed for them by others, like Willie Dixon for instance. Jazz musicians do the same. How are "evergreens" and "standards" made if not by being performed by many? So to talk about "stealing" is most ridiculous

  • Excelente!

  • stop arguing about who's the best guitarist and just listen.

  • stevie did more for blues in his short time than EVER before....he blew Clapton off the planet...Clapton admits... no contest..... he was the real deal, better player than clapton, hendrix. and more...... this guy could sing play and write... he was amazing!!!!!

  • @petelorancom yes sir

  • Amen

  • why does everyone argue about what is/who plays blues. I think it was B.B King who said "Blues is the mama that birthed the baby that is Rock n Roll"

  • even if he didn't say that, I love that saying.

  • In response to Stevie and others "stealing' music or writing their own. He wrote alot and he played alot of other people's music, but he was trying to introduce a new generation to his influences. John Mayer and Buddy Guy said that Stevie always quoted his sources and never took credit away from any other artist. A lot of people think that when Buddy plays Mary Had a Little Lamb, or Leave My Little Girl Alone; he's playing Stevie, even tho Buddy wrote them. SRV wanted to share great music.

  • Right on! It's the blues. To say that this is "stealing" someone's song is like a painter stealing a brush. That's really the least important element of the whole picture.

  • @bluesmama60

right..the thing about blues and jazz.. is everyone covers everyone else's stuff.. its amatter of respect. you want to talk about stealing... look to hip hop..

  • Comment removed

  • @BlackMusicGenre while i DO like some hip hop, 8 times out of 10, the music underneath the lyrics, belongs to someone else. there is barely a scent of original music in hip hop and nowadays they also seem to be mimicking the lyrical flow of other songs, just with other words. what is so tough about getting a drum machine/keyboard and making your own music?? anything biggie smalls, dr dre, ice cube,et al.all has OTHER people's music tracks under it. it would just be cool to hear original music

  • @BlackMusicGenre

not exactly... one cant just pick up a guitar and play the song.. you have to have actual talent ans skill.. lifting a track off of one recording onto another, takes zero talent or skill. hell , you, me, or anyone on this page can sample music on the first try... the same CANNOT be said for someone who ha never played the guitar. not to mention SRV, along with many others have tons of their own original material.

  • @BlackMusicGenre

I do feel the same on the rare occasion a rock musician does it ( see Kid Rock - "American Badass" ) they lift a song from Metallica, and i hate it.. write your own music. cover songs are done as a tribute to the original artist.. sampling is just lazy buisness... i mean there are some hip hop songs i can literally pick out 3 - 5 OTHER songs intertwined within one song.. what';s the point of doing that??

  • He is God. His tone, his touch, his sense of pitch is just unbelievable. Fan for 20 years, he is the greatest. To my ears he beats Hendrix, of course love Hendrix too.

  • @PHARBIN22 Greatest blues guitarist.I didn't say jazz, pop, flamenco or classical. I said blues. All of the heavyweight blues players(including clapton) admit he was on a different level. And hendrix's playing was blues based as well. "red house" is 12 bar blues.

  • @richardguitar1 Hendrix was rock and roll based. Now I will admit he had a song or two with a blues feel, but none the less he was rock. So you cant really consider him a blues artist, or guitarist. Big Rich, dont think im knocking SRV, im one of his biggest fans! Shit, that man was very much on another level. Clapton is not a heavyweight, hes a thief but thats another topic. B.B cant get no love, lol? Well, im trying to find this damn dvd or vhs this video is based on, lawd he played

  • I don't really consider clapton a blues heavyweight either but many people admit his influence. As far as his "stealing" I don't buy it. Nobody "owns" music it's only rehashed.

  • @richardguitar1 I would have to not agree with you on the rehash remark. People like Stevie, and those before him actually wrote there material. Where as the artist now days sample from them, and piggy back off of them. Even though Steve remade little wing, and tin pan alley...he did it more out of a tribute to those artist.

  • @PHARBIN22 gotcha. cheers!

  • Not true. He was blues based but also had some rock N roll background too (Elvis, Chuck Berry, etc.). You can tell in his playing that he was blues based (Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters).

  • I laugh at people who DENY that srv is the greatest blues player of all time. These people let prejudices get in the way.And it's also taboo to say that he was better than Hendrix. NOBODY could bring out a more from a relatively simple form of music that we know as the blues. God bless you Stevie, we know that there was sincere pain and suffering in your playing.

  • Did stevie wright this?

  • No. No sure who did. based on a 50s or 60s blues tune. Doesn't get any better than this tho : 0

  • its an old tradional its been around sience the turn of the 20th century

  • DAMN

  • this is nothing short of jaw droppingly amazing. another good version is tin pan alley from the album in the beginning. its a toss up in my opinion.

  • This is a fucking MASTERPIECE of blues!!!

  • Not at all; listen to his 1989 "Better Leave My Girl.." and dare saying the same words

  • did i say slow blues?

  • Did I say "Better Leave My Girl..."?

  • yeah we both said that.

  • leave my little girl alone was one hell of a sober performance on austin city limits. he still had it even clean and that is perfect proof.

  • That's what I tried to persuade this other guy. By the way, the 1983 ACL version of Tin Pan Alley is as jaw dropping, imo.

(Um...the only thing I didn't like about your comment was the word "even")

  • why is everyone downthumbing this comment? it's just the truth

  • drunk or sober . have u ever heard him play so soulful ? R.I.P. brother , there wont be another . !

  • ya hes definatly drunk here man just look at him when he sings his eyes are way glossed over

  • But he's still brilliant, isn't he?

  • hell ya this is my favorit live perfomace by far better than his texas flood perfomance

  • I think* he may* have been sobber for this, thus why I think* he's kicking serious ass.

  • This is only Jan. 1 1985, i believe Stevie did not get sober until late '85 or early '86

  • At this particular show he was "tanked" like rarely ever (his words)

  • oogodzammelazerus!

  • he definitely makes love to that guitar

  • i can still remember watching him on peace rock in austin tx back in the late 70s with nothing but his guitar and a pig snout amp. within feet of him right in zilker park. :)

  • all i can say is...wow!

  • Why Stevie? Why did you had to die? You are in our hearts forever and ever

  • Wow. Gave me goosebumps. I can't even imagine what he'd be capable of doing if he were still alive..

  • What we have just witnessed and were blessed to see right here is a genius at his best.

  • youre right

  • dirty pool is so much better with this tone than it is on the album. it sounds much stronger.

  • ya know?, it all kinda depemds on how much he decides to "hold back". he did, or he didnt! thats how he played.but its all gold,, no?

  • yeah its all gold, nothing he played was bad

  • the dirty pool part takes it to another level. And Tin Pan Alley is a sick song. This is an insane performance. This is why they make games like Guitar hero. So people can pretend to be like that. gotta go practice now.

  • those lipstick pickups sound fucking great

    so much bite and brightness

  • Awesome video.

Stevie is definitely one of the all time greats..

Sad that he's not around anymore!

  • I'm not one to swear but OMFG, both those vids you posted are incredible! What a performance! Wow...thanks to you but especially SRV who inspired me greatly!

  • Tin Pan Alley/Dirty Pool. You can see him yell Dirty Pool around 2:30

  • SRV Taken too soon ~ I'm with you guys..there's no amount of praise good enough, the man just embodied the blues...

    Peace.

  • Threefile,

You cannot be serious? SRV IS the best period.

  • now I under stand this is terrific wow

  • God (if there IS one!) gypped us.

He DEPRIVED us of this man's GREAT, INCREDIBLY & EXTRAORDINARY TALENT.

WHAT WOULD BE THE PURPOSE OF TAKING HIM AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE???!!!

I can only WONDER WHAT THE POINT IS.???

  • god needed him playing in heaven.

  • thats why he died so young.

  • I bet SRV never played this song the exact same way twice, how greater can it be?

  • There is no blues player that has ever played like Stevie. Clapton is not even close. JH didn't even play with the clarity and accuracy that Stevie played with

  • holy fucking shit!!

    ALL PRAISES TO SRV

  • Look at 2:24 he yells over to Chris "Dirty Pool" badass. Switches songs out of no where!

  • thanks Rumples there is a good chance these videos just changed my life.

  • *drool*

  • 3:28 is SO amazing

  • I fucking love that he went into Dirty Pool!!

  • Though he was hanging on his boot strap that didn't affect his playing.

He was just lost in the Blue haze.

    Rest in peace.

  • Live In TOKYO is the best live performance Stevie did,,all the rest are GREAT this one is off the charts AWESOME..

    RIP: SRV

  • Thank you Thank you Thank you and a thousand times more.

I ain't got any DVD's (yet) but whether this is on release or not, it blows me away.

I simply can't find the words to tell you what Stevie does to my soul

    best regards, Rich

  • These Tokyo performances of Stevie are out of this world!! this gave me the cold chills

  • SRV gave the absolutely most moving performances of any musician! i can't get enough of it!

  • Love it at 2:23 where he shouts "Dirty Pool". How the f*ck did he work out those chord progressions?!?!?!
