I don't think it actually matters what color you make the text, I made mine green and it came out the exact same.

Thank you, I don't remember subscribing but it was probably in my more basic learning stages for GIMP, and until this video I still didn't think to scale layer to image size or something to keep it from cutting everything but the text out.
