Okay people here its the easiest way that worked for me : GET ISO TOOL 189 ON PSP... enter it and select the not working game.... click on PATCH and PATCH PROMETHEUS thing.. and click on the first one with BBS at the end ! it will work plus im gonna make a vid !!

@rickegillarcross did u hack ur psp? if u didnt u cant. if u did try turn off ur psp completely (by holding it for 5 seconds) then hold the button "R" on ur psp at the same time turn on ur psp u should get to ur recovery mode then

My problem? yes... just got motor storm acrtic edge pn psp and I really want to play it.

I tried dumping the UMD to get both .iso and .cso... Didn't work.

As the game requires 5.55 to play and when i try to play it from the umd it loads, then says this 80020148 error. and when i try to play it from the mms, the game won't simply load...

When you go to the advanced config menu in recovery mode, instead of disabling the two options just leave it alone. It worked for me and im running 3.71. Hope that helps.

I found out it was a 5.55 game a bit after posting my comment. I didn't even know the 5.55 version existed since I'm not too much into the PSP to begin with.

The funny thing is, I downloaded a backup version of the game... And it works perfectly. O_o So yeah, even though I can't play the original with the CFW I have, I can play the backup, so I'm happy. XD

I have this problem whenever I try to play newer games (as in came out recently) on my psp. My memory stick is 4 gb and my system's information is

I can't seem to find a solution anywhere. I've tried the recovery menu theory and my memory stick is supported with MagicGate.

Whenever I play older games, everything seems to be fine. This error, 80020148, has happened to me three times. Does anyone know the solution? I appreciate it.

nobody has mentioned the biggest and most unfixable reason for this error...a fake memory stick...to check this when you select your memory stick in the XMB press triangle an then information...if it says MagicGate not supported you have a fake memory stick and only a few .cso or .iso will work...

To most of you that are new to this I would say it would fix most 80020148 problems, but it also depends on what game you're also trying to play. Currently this happens to a few newer import games such as Idolmaster which require the 5.05 FW and current CFWs will not run it. So no matter how much you try, till someone comes out with a 5.05 CFW, this problem will not be fix for extreamly new titles.
