God is EVERLASTING. He is the CORRECTION. He is the SPIRITUAL FIRE and BRIMSTONE. Its his WORD to those who wanna keep living in sin. Its like many do not wanna go church on Sunday so they can sit home watch football game. If they force go to church they are being tormented.Worms and wailing and gnashing of teeth is referring to the angry sinners wanting to enter the city but left out to hear the WORDS, not a fiery eternal torture chamber.
@AliceSpicer I think he said,"For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning". Ps 30.5 :)
here's a lot of verses like that. Here's another.Rom 16:25 according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world [Gk: aionios] began. We have the adjective word aionios and the KJV translators changed it to a noun, world. The word world (kosmos) is not found in this verse, neither is the word began. (clnt) The Greek reads …in times eonian. And as Paul speaks of the revelation of this secret, how could it ever be revealed if it was kept secret eternally?
if you are saying hell is not a place for the wicked you are severly misinformed, and correction God does not send us there we choose this place of eternal torment big difference from throwing your children in the fire and the ones that are too young (children) dont go there, read your word
aionios - strongs G166. translated from the original text it means without begining or end. it is translated as eternal , forever and everlasting in the bible . mathew 25:46 translates it as everlasting punishment as a contrast to eternal life. mathew 25:41 says that he will tell those who didn't care for those who where hungary naked thhirsty poor etc . depart from me and send them into the everlasting(AIONIOS -GREEK WORD MEANING NEVER ENDING ) FIRE PREPARED FOR SATAN AND HIS ANGELS
@RONIDC1979 2 Thes. 2:16…and has given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace. Console is defined as, To allay sorrow or grief of. Hope is defined as, To wish for something with expectations of its fulfillment. Now then, according to this KJV translation of this verse, just how long are we going to have our SORROW AND GRIEF ALLAYED? How long must we HOPE before we have our hope fulfilled? For ALL ETERNITY? Nonsense. Aionios = age. Ask God to show you the truth.
@shadapple Did you know that that is a complete lie? Jesus taught more on the his kingdom [the kingdom of God] than anything! As a matter of fact I can only remember his teaching of hell being a small percentage of his teachings overall.
@bkglamb I know he mentioned hell 19 times. I will say that he probably mentioned Heaven more, but how many times does he have to tell us about hell before it sinks into our heads? He had to tell us 3 times in Mathew 13 that the chaff go first, but most can't seem to get that through their heads either. I believe the Bible. And if my Creator said there is an eternal hell, he only has to tell me once.
@shadapple Their is no word within the original manuscripts the means eternal [denoting a time without beginning or ending.], hebrew or greek. So the whole idea of hell being eternal is a pagan lie!
@bkglamb Mar 9:44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. Mar 9:46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. Mar 9:48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched....lemme guess...not in the original texts huh? The canker worm never dying sure strikes me as eternal...how about you? (Insert excuse number 15 here.....)
@shadapple Read Jeremiah 17:27 followed by 2 Chronicles 36:19-21. Then buy a plane ticket to Jerusalem and tell bkglamb if it is still on fire. If it is, you two can continue conversation according to your current line of reasoning. If not, then you might want to consider that what bkglamb is saying has some merit, instead of sarcastically assuming "excuse number 15" before you've even considered the reply.
@shadapple Yeah, and how does that prove the manuscripts have a word that means eternal? I can quote the king James all day. Until it can be proven there is a word in the Hebrew or Greek manuscripts that means eternal, you'll always be wrong.
@shadapple - that is a Christian lie which can easily disproved by a concordance. I was told the same lie at my church. Jesus actually spoke more about the Kingdom of Heaven. :-)
Christ invoked Gehenna because it was the ultimate symbol of destruction and human depravity taken to it's limits which is our destiny if we reject god.
That doesn't preclude the possibility of eternal separation from god. You've simply demolished the basis for viewing hell as a literal place where we're roasted by god.
That said I don't consider universal or near universal salvation indefensible.
it,s called gods strange act! god is a consuming fire the bible tells us.god doesn,t torture sinners forever.man does not have an immortal soul, the terms immortal soul cannot be found anywhere in the bible.man is mortal, not immortal. The belief in the immortal soul is a pagan belief!!!

too bad the fundamentalists & the evangelicals don't get it
How could ANYONE live in Heaven, let alone God, if even ONE PERSON was sent to a place of eternal conscious torment?
How would that be heaven?
I think it would be hell. I'd absolutely hate it there.
