nice video i wish my auratus wasent so dam mean it pisses me off . come to my channel my real auratus beats the hell out of my convict cichlid its on my channel and does anybody know what other african cichlids are good to put with my male auratus he is almost 4" and so mean i had to put him in a 30 gallon untill the other fish can defend them selfs any ideas would be well apreciated
Half black half yellow are oblique cichlids. But wow those things are 20$ at 1 1/2 in. You got some money in those fish at that size great variety in your tank aswell
@ashbuzzman100 depends on size of tank, how many males you have, hiding spots, types of cichlids. Too many fish can = aggression, too many males can = aggression, mixing African and South American will almost always = aggression, and cichlids themselves are by nature aggressive, so some is expected. Try to keep same size, enough space and hiding spots and only African or South American. That should help some.
@loafmasta87 ahh alright , when i got mine my local fish shop said to put loads in but i bet he just wanted a sale lol anyway thanks for that advice and hopefully i'll have some again soon

What filter should i use for a 55 gal im getting in a few months with no more than 15 cichlids? I will be doing a water change every week unless more is needed or i don't need to do one that often.
@Diegovaiasuso The black cichlid with yellow stripe is a Ikola Tropheus and the purple fish with the yellow band is an Acei. I have two in this tank and the larger one is now about 7".
dude that is the best tank i have ever seen well done. hey i was wondering where u got those large pebble stones?and how do u keep ur tank so clean i also have an african cichlid tank with a few loaches but its only 60 gallons i was wondering if u could help me
@Mrdynamite777 you could check your pet/hobby shop but IF they have them it would be expensive. Try a gardening store or even your nearest river if you have any. i live in VA where i have a river basically anywhere i go.
@brucierioch The Tropheus is a more aggressive fish but I have had peacocks that are even more aggressive. A larger Tropheus to add to your tank may curb aggression from your Demasoni and over time the Tropheus will be higher in the pecking order. I have a Demasoni in this tank these days and it is not afraid of anybody but usually only picks on juveniles his size.
nice assortment of fish and rocks, i really like it. i also like how you made the rock hiding places look natural rather than most who just stack pieces of slate. nice job.
hi there i see you have Tropheus ikola's with your malawi's i am thinking of adding some ikola's to my tank with my malawi's but i am not sure about it with me having 3 auratus & 3 demonsi in there allready, have you had any problems with your ikola's with aggression against your malawi's ? very nice tank my friend check mine out.
i must say props for good choice of your africians and good decor choice... not a fan of white gravel... last thing to say is keep an eye on that yellow compresseiceps he is not going to grow very fast or very large :D
@Pakman12344 I use river rock that I purchased at a local supplier. To decorate this tank only cost about $20 of river rock. I also use coral gravel for the higher PH. Some of the rock dwellers enjoy digging this size gravel out of their caves after a routine cleaning.
@meandvandro i see in the beggining of the video that your female eletric yellow had a mouthful there lol how did those babies do? they still alive or what?

What are the half black/half yellow ones called? Really unique looking cichlid. I like your yellowtail acei as well. They look great.

Beautiful tank and I like your rock color variations! What type of live plants do you keep in your tank? Are anubias safe to keep with cichlids?

@chiraglyf I would only stick to African cichlids in the tank. Neons look great but they have a different freshwater makeup including a lower ph.
