You can't beat analog, that's for sure, I was privileged to make a PAIA Fatman synth years ago with the kit they send you and a weeks adventure into putting it together with iron and mind. ;) Had midi control too, it was great.. Sadly my adventure ended because it kept falling off my desk.. Front heavy and didn't come with a cab.
i was planning on building a doepfer system myself in the future with 3 VCO's. my question: I want to use a midi keyboard to trigger the VCO's. How do I get the VCO's triggerd with the Midimodule? do i connect the cv output to the VCO ? or do I need a signal multiplier that routes the cv output to each VCO or is it linked internally so i don't have to use any cabel to trigger the VCO's? Thanks in advance if you answer :)
@AnalogAudio1 I just got my doepfer close to two months ago and it has the midi-to-cv module. I've never used midi before. What would be a cheap midi keyboard?
I love the sounds you make with your Doepfer. I have a 'slightly' larger set up (more than 80 modules). So I know the fun you get with a modular system. Good work!
It sounds great. I was thinking of getting a doepfer system for myself. It will be my first modular system. How does one get patterns out of clock dividers ? Can they be synced to midi also ?
uff... i keep coming to this vid whenever i want some modular magic... well, ill have to stay with my nord modular till i can afford an analogue beast
breathtaking. if you don't mind the question, how much would it costs to get all those modules? this video just makes you never want to make music (exclusively) with the computer again.
Wow...that sounds incredble!!

Nice demo. Are the modules A185-2 and A190 connected to the system busses?

Excellent video, nice to see someone who knows what they are doing, Thanks for making it.

Very nice. May I ask how you got the arpeggiator from the Korg MicroX to work with the A-190 MIDI Interface?

Can you use any midi keyboard on a doepfer?
504ecj 3 months ago
@504ecj if you have a midi-to-cv module in your system, of course

How did you create the sequences ? Are you using an analogue step sequencer or some arpeggiator ?
synthaman 7 months ago
@synthaman I used a Korg MicroX, like described in the description of the video.

This is what modular synth demos should sound like, not those videos of random drone sounds coming out of a forest of patch cables :]

is that the doepfer 9U lowcost case? it looks pretty nice...
that first 3 osc bass destroyed my brain! cant see why people dare to complaint about the doepfer vcos, they sound amazing!

@mynmyself no, this is a self made massive wood casing.

finally some good reference demo. Doepfer modular is one of the biggest victim of crappy youtube demos. i almost believed it sucks.

@ebaggsnyc it costs appr. 3000,- Euros incl. the "low cost casing" (in Germany).

What's your opinion on the A-110's ? Do they track well when you do long octave jumps ?
Dovinia 1 year ago
@Dovinia they track very well! Every module is checked by Doepfer before leaving the factory.

Is the arpeggio coming from the keyboard below? Is the arp programmable?
johnisfaster 1 year ago
@johnisfaster Like stated in the description, the ARPEGGIATOR is from the Korg MicroX, which was the MIDI controlling device.
Yes, you can programm own arpeggio styles in the MicroX, but I did not make use of it in this video.
