terran could have won, if he flew his oc to the natural with more minerals, then destroying the last buildings on the land (which were mostly unpowered, so whitera couldnt make any units) and then build a few more units and getting dropships to the island
it would be awesome in a game if every expansion is mined out and no player can make any units because they have no resources so they have to attack each other with their workers XD

I'm still a noob at this, but the entire time I was wondering why he didn't go for the pylons to shut down warpgates/structures and then taking out the economy rather than going straight for expansions while the toss player warped in units.
I'm just starting out though, and they were both really excellent players. Really fun to watch. Taught me quite a bit about playing toss.

From watching the match, and what everyone is saying, no one had it won yet. The terran player did leave too early. He still could have won, but he definitely did not have it won at the gg.
terran had enough to finish up whiteras main, then called down mules to the extra mineral patches. he wouldve been at a disadvantage resource wise, but using high efficiency units like thors and tanks and maybe even nukes, he couldve taken out whiteras island, though it wouldve taken awhile and his concentration started to slip halfway through the game.
whitera had enough resources in that expansion to make a complete cannon wall to protect his base and make warp prisms to drop on the main ground, terran could not have won.
every expansion aside from the island added together probably had less minerals then the whitera's island, that combined with whitera having more minerals to rebuild and turtle while lamer just sits there waiting to die, i'm sure its possible for him to win but realistically whiteRa had that.

If we are talking about play style Dali harassed better, but controlled his units poorly. Whitera responded well, but didnt really offer up any real harass or map control. After dali got wise and kept his units spaced out, it was only a matter of time before he woulda won.
but by then he had sunk way too much resources into dieing to storm and i would disagree that storm works too well, with good reaction its easy to beat.
IDK Husky if you ask me Terran totally won the game DalaiLamer played much better and aggressive in the early and late game unfortunatly for him whitera kicked him out of his Main but he managed to make another one + uncountable amount of SCV-s have done there job by getting that 10 000 minerals & 5000 gas so marine marauder and a bunch of siege tanks (actually siege tanks were the MAIN FORCE cause marines and marauders were just a targets there so. . .)

He could have EVENTUALLY won, it would simply been a game of getting on the high ground and killing observers. It would of have to have been flawless play, since WhiteRa would have quickly rebuilt everything and if Dalai didn't match that speed, WhiteRa would just overwhelm him.
Terran would have won, reason being he has SOME minerals to be mined, just build some medivacs, set siege tanks on the high ground to set up a parameter around WhiteRa's island.

Dalai couldnt end the game with 11k minerals and gas, lost around 70% of the army to a couple DTs, a lot of his drops were left hitting a gas stuff, he lost his entire base to 10-15 units and he made like 3 ghosts on the entire game AGAINST PROTOSS
and wtf were those 2 sensor towers on the same place? also 40+ SCVs just sitting around supply blocking his army

Dalai had to end it right by the time he gg'd meaning that he had to load 2 halfdead(later sniped midair) medivaks with halfdead maraders and siegetanks to fight 5 stalkers 2 dt's 30 probes. IF he'd take the time to heal his units, the island would be swarming with photoncannons. Yes, the forge was alive

I think Dalai was worried about the DT more than his main army at the end, he could have destroyed whiteras base but he probably assumed he had more void rays, and there was the DT in his main he would have had to deal with This was probably the best game ive seen though, so close, I always root for white ra though, he's toss :P
He should've gone for carriers on the island. One or two would've turned the tables with WhiteRa's storms. Also, by the time they realize they're being hit, the dt would've probably made huge damage on dalai. It's all about reaction time I think. WhiteRa was in favor, but Dalai with the right units and right placement, could take that out.

The terran player wouldn't have won. He had NO minerals for production. He could've made some more scvs and got a FEW more minerals. But WhiteRa had the only decent mining expansion in the entire game. He could've made more gateways and gotten a warp prism to warp in more units on the mainland and take out all of terran's buildings. There just wasn't enough minerals left for DalaiLameR to do anything with. Especially since he only had 4 scvs and zero gas. The Stalkers would counter any drops
@shldflght Actually i think otherwise, that T would have won because there were enough minerals for a ghost and a nuke. Also, in that little island he had very few space to get military buildings.
It all depends though, since WhiteRa had economical advantage and some DarkTemplars scattered around, he could have gone into slicing all T buildings.
WhiteRa would have turned the game in the end with his expo that had gas. Few Carriers or Stalkers w/ blink and he would be able to go from building to building and take him out slowly, winning in the end.
you are right dalai had this game but i suppose once he viewed the expansion in the top left where he lost all of those vikings (such a shame) he must have thought that in the long run whitera would have out lasted him, however i feel dalai should have won this matchup shame but thats the way it goes. the M&M build i suppose it was an emergency build, the terran main was overrun but liked the support with the tanks & vikings later to support and nulify the hard hitters and help with the harass
Terran may have been able to win, but the stalkers on the island could have prevented the drops necessary to sack that mining expo. Even if he stayed in it it would have been close.
Man, at first i thought DalaiLameR was a very good player, but as it went on, he still did nothing but marine & marauder, typical noob player who cant adapt even the slightest.. If he built ANYTHING else he would have won a long time ago (when he had 6k minerals and 3k gas).

Lamer had so many chances to win this. All he needed to do was summon mules at remaining mineral patches, kill off protoss buildings/production units. Whitera only had 1 archon and 1 DT out of his last expansion and they would have gone down to the 3 vikings, 3 tanks, 4 marines, 1 ghost and 3 marauders. Lamer just quit like a little girl. Also whitera had little gas making it harder to get out vrays and stalkers. As much as I like whitera, lamer should have won this.
I say that WhiteRa would have one because he could of easily turtled and hit the medivacs fast from any point on the island. Also he has an ENTIRE expansion, he could have massed voidrays and did some work or even carriers would have worked, the terran player had no air def and his vikings were long gone.
Well....from my view point the Terran Player DalaiLameR had this game in the sack. He still had 2 Medivac (load them up with Maruader, Marine, and Siege Tank) and there throw a scan on the last possible expansion. Going in with his Viking as a decoy and then drop his units into the expansion and killing the Stalker fast... >> Well I guess unless a miracle happens DalaiLameR could have won if he stayed till the end. x.x
@supermike135 WhiteRa is a good enough player to snipe one of the Medivacs instead of being distracted by a Viking, and his 5 stalkers (possibly add 1 cannon) would have been enough protection to hold off DalaiLameR while using his island economy to throw up a couple of warpgates and a stargate.
he should have play it out, maybe he could have won, but playing starcraft is also a mind game. Terran probably thought he was losing that game because protoss still got a unsaturated base and was able to fend it off and Terran got no idea how many DT out there that was about to destroy his supplies. You don't have to win a war by killing everyone, simply just break their morale make themselves quit. So I say WhiteRa won that game, not Terran could have. 3rd person point of view don't count.
nice game though, but wondering, why the toss did't go on carriers/phoenix support in late game. Instead he wasted army after army on siege tanks. That "STOOOOORM" shouts through the game make it unwatchable at normal volume...

Great game, Whitera's definitely one of my favorite players to watch. Also I don't always thumbs up because I forget to do that when you have so many videos but it was great that you analyzed the post game situation to speculate on how Dalai could have potentially won since I don't have the game to run the replays myself.
Best I can figure is that the two dts were giving dalai too much trouble.
He couldn't keep up the aggro and still have enough to snipe the dts when they harassed dalai's workers. So he could ostensibly have mined from those leftover mineral patches, but I don't think he had any chance of keeping up with whitera after that last attack got mostly taken out.

IDK Husky if you ask me Terran totally won the game DalaiLamer played much better and aggressive in the early and late game unfortunatly for him whitera kicked him out of his Main but he managed to make another one + uncountable amount of SCV-s have done there job by getting that 10 000 minerals & 5000 gas so marine marauder and a bunch of siege tanks (actually siege tanks were the MAIN FORCE cause marines and marauders were just a targets there so. . .)
yeah thats it pretty much terran won :)

Terran would have won for sure. There were easily enough minerals left to mass up a reasonable army to storm the last base. Also, the protoss would have had to rebuild cyber core, gateways, pilons, etc since terran would destroy everything else on the map. Terran could even nuke the base from a distance.

He could have EVENTUALLY won, it would simply been a game of getting on the high ground and killing observers. It would of have to have been flawless play, since WhiteRa would have quickly rebuilt everything and if Dalai didn't match that speed, WhiteRa would just overwhelm him.

Terran would have won, reason being he has SOME minerals to be mined, just build some medivacs, set siege tanks on the high ground to set up a parameter around WhiteRa's island.

Defenetly terran would won the game, all he would have to do was to destroy the nexus and pylons and isolated whitera on that highground, dont get my wrong, i love how whitera plays starcraft 2, he is my favorite, but this game he was vvvv lucky:)

Dalai couldnt end the game with 11k minerals and gas, lost around 70% of the army to a couple DTs, a lot of his drops were left hitting a gas stuff, he lost his entire base to 10-15 units and he made like 3 ghosts on the entire game AGAINST PROTOSS
and wtf were those 2 sensor towers on the same place? also 40+ SCVs just sitting around supply blocking his army

I think WhiteRa would have won. Dalai had to end it right by the time he gg'd meaning that he had to load 2 halfdead(later sniped midair) medivaks with halfdead maraders and siegetanks to fight 5 stalkers 2 dt's 30 probes. IF he'd take the time to heal his units, the island would be swarming with photoncannons. Yes, the forge was alive

He couldnt win without ressources ! He had only 2 medivak to drop his units on WhiteRa's island but stalkers could snipe them. ;) And WhiteRa had enough mineral to rebuild units.

I think Dalai was worried about the DT more than his main army at the end, he could have destroyed whiteras base but he probably assumed he had more void rays, and there was the DT in his main he would have had to deal with This was probably the best game ive seen though, so close, I always root for white ra though, he's toss :P

He should've gone for carriers on the island. One or two would've turned the tables with WhiteRa's storms. Also, by the time they realize they're being hit, the dt would've probably made huge damage on dalai. It's all about reaction time I think. WhiteRa was in favor, but Dalai with the right units and right placement, could take that out.

Terran wouldn't of been able to approach his island without some serious resistance. All Whitera had to do was throw down some stargates and probe up and he would have been fine.

The terran player wouldn't have won. He had NO minerals for production. He could've made some more scvs and got a FEW more minerals. But WhiteRa had the only decent mining expansion in the entire game. He could've made more gateways and gotten a warp prism to warp in more units on the mainland and take out all of terran's buildings. There just wasn't enough minerals left for DalaiLameR to do anything with. Especially since he only had 4 scvs and zero gas. The Stalkers would counter any drops

@shldflght Actually i think otherwise, that T would have won because there were enough minerals for a ghost and a nuke. Also, in that little island he had very few space to get military buildings.
It all depends though, since WhiteRa had economical advantage and some DarkTemplars scattered around, he could have gone into slicing all T buildings.

WhiteRa would have turned the game in the end with his expo that had gas. Few Carriers or Stalkers w/ blink and he would be able to go from building to building and take him out slowly, winning in the end.

you are right dalai had this game but i suppose once he viewed the expansion in the top left where he lost all of those vikings (such a shame) he must have thought that in the long run whitera would have out lasted him, however i feel dalai should have won this matchup shame but thats the way it goes. the M&M build i suppose it was an emergency build, the terran main was overrun but liked the support with the tanks & vikings later to support and nulify the hard hitters and help with the harass

Terran may have been able to win, but the stalkers on the island could have prevented the drops necessary to sack that mining expo. Even if he stayed in it it would have been close.

Man, at first i thought DalaiLameR was a very good player, but as it went on, he still did nothing but marine & marauder, typical noob player who cant adapt even the slightest.. If he built ANYTHING else he would have won a long time ago (when he had 6k minerals and 3k gas).
I mean.. Just, damn. He could have pwnt whitera, and just, didnt do anything but M&M.... I dont understand why.

Lamer had so many chances to win this. All he needed to do was summon mules at remaining mineral patches, kill off protoss buildings/production units. Whitera only had 1 archon and 1 DT out of his last expansion and they would have gone down to the 3 vikings, 3 tanks, 4 marines, 1 ghost and 3 marauders. Lamer just quit like a little girl. Also whitera had little gas making it harder to get out vrays and stalkers. As much as I like whitera, lamer should have won this.

I say that WhiteRa would have one because he could of easily turtled and hit the medivacs fast from any point on the island. Also he has an ENTIRE expansion, he could have massed voidrays and did some work or even carriers would have worked, the terran player had no air def and his vikings were long gone.

Well....from my view point the Terran Player DalaiLameR had this game in the sack. He still had 2 Medivac (load them up with Maruader, Marine, and Siege Tank) and there throw a scan on the last possible expansion. Going in with his Viking as a decoy and then drop his units into the expansion and killing the Stalker fast... >> Well I guess unless a miracle happens DalaiLameR could have won if he stayed till the end. x.x

@supermike135 WhiteRa is a good enough player to snipe one of the Medivacs instead of being distracted by a Viking, and his 5 stalkers (possibly add 1 cannon) would have been enough protection to hold off DalaiLameR while using his island economy to throw up a couple of warpgates and a stargate.

he should have play it out, maybe he could have won, but playing starcraft is also a mind game. Terran probably thought he was losing that game because protoss still got a unsaturated base and was able to fend it off and Terran got no idea how many DT out there that was about to destroy his supplies. You don't have to win a war by killing everyone, simply just break their morale make themselves quit. So I say WhiteRa won that game, not Terran could have. 3rd person point of view don't count.

nice game though, but wondering, why the toss did't go on carriers/phoenix support in late game. Instead he wasted army after army on siege tanks. That "STOOOOORM" shouts through the game make it unwatchable at normal volume...

Great game, Whitera's definitely one of my favorite players to watch. Also I don't always thumbs up because I forget to do that when you have so many videos but it was great that you analyzed the post game situation to speculate on how Dalai could have potentially won since I don't have the game to run the replays myself.

Best I can figure is that the two dts were giving dalai too much trouble.
He couldn't keep up the aggro and still have enough to snipe the dts when they harassed dalai's workers. So he could ostensibly have mined from those leftover mineral patches, but I don't think he had any chance of keeping up with whitera after that last attack got mostly taken out.
