i want this game n need this game asap the realism is all there, graduated from train sim(1) 5 years ago, 2 out of the 1million things i hate about the first one is how the acela has white paint instead of the actually grey paint it should have, and how fake and non realistic the rest of tha game is. Atleast the P42 DC silver star add on i got is 10 outs 10 for graphics and realism.

I was at a presentation of MSTS2 in late 2008 and what they showed us was utterly incredible. I have no idea how close they were as they still had bugs in what they showed us, but I was ready to advance order it right then and there. Still lament it never got anywhere. Near was much for video games and have never bought the original MSTS but still think from time to time I probably should... Still, how I wish they'd made MSTS2.

They didn't cancel the game outright. The shuttering of Microsoft's ACES studio pre-empted the cancellation of this and anything FS-related that may have been in progress. Because of the economy, as a corporation they need to focus on products that will give them the biggest return. The sims turned a profit, but not as much as their other assets like Windows or Office.

MSTS 1 is too old now. The sound seemed to be a bit more real with it. In 2004 MSTS 2 was first cancelled because Microsoft needed to make scores with the XBox. Now it is because of the crisis but i think thereby that it is a huge mistake to cancel this one. It seems that there was the ICE. The TGV would be wonderfull for sure.

The entire Microsoft game studio is shut down. That means no MSTS2, no more Flight Simulator and whatever other PC games they created. The reason why the the site wasn't updated is because along with the game developers, the web guys lost their jobs as well.
