  • 1:10 F*ck you Archos

  • Where can I get free app for pdf reader for my Archos 10.1. Help me please.

  • can I pass PDF books from my computer ti my archos and with which app can I view them??

  • Can this device be rooted(the android version of jailbreak)? Apparently Google endorses this so I do not find this a bad thing. Also would this add the marketplace to the device? I'm thinking about getting this and I am not familiar with android however would like to do all the cool things it can do.

  • @XBCLeverything I just returned the 43, total garbage in every way compared to the 32, unfortunately the 32 is too small

  • wow that's really smooth page-turning. looks excellent for browsing, photos, music, and ebooks!

  • what's the battery life when reading e-books and pdfs.

  • is multi-taksing possible ?

  • I think that's just the Internet Tablet not the old IMT. I could be wrong though.

  • How much does it cost for Archos Android Tablet ? Also, How can you purchase ebooks on this device? How much is the Internet on this thing? What other features does this device hold?

  • im thinkingof buying an internet tablet for my 13 year old son, which one do you reccommend??? please respond!!!

  • I nearly bought the Archos 5g couple of years ago, then I got excited when this thing was announced, so I waited for this. But I didn't buy one because I heard about the Ipad coming out. I didn't buy an ipad because I am waiting for ipad2. So nearly 3 years down the line and I still don't have a tablet. But one thing I am glad I never spent £300 on one of these!

  • Good

  • 7:16 pause

  • Can you make the fonts bigger?

  • @thelegendarypaki

Yes, the Aldiko epub reader allows you to change the font style, font colour, and background colour also.

  • I had an Archos 605 and it was the buggiest piece of electronics I have ever used.

  • I love your vid! Good work. Check mine too on my channel bit [.] ly/9X23us.

  • The 160gb version is on amazon at the mo for around £180 is it worth it? i'd be using it for videos ebooks and browsing.

  • @Langly06 Most defiantly worth it. Its a great little device. You can also install the full Android market to get a better experience. The instructions for doing so are on the web.

  • @MrNobody808

You got some keywords for googling them ? Im thinking of getting me the Archos 10.1 and heard of a way to enable the normally not accessible Android market with it but could not find any real helpful informations on what to do.

Not having access to the market is the last thing that keeps from buying the Archos 10

  • @Celeon999A Just visit the archosfans forum. The instructions are on there, plus lots of other useful information.

  • @MrNobody808

Thanks i will have a look

  • Archos 5 or 7 which should I get?

  • @elel70 Depends on what is more practical for u, I just ordered the 5 because I think the 7 is a little too big for my liking.

  • good review

  • Thanks, Chippy. All I wanted to know.

  • Can be auto-rotated? ...

  • 01:07 Hello Middle Finger. Long time no see. :)

  • the app to read pdf is free go to archos.com

  • there's probably no one better than u at displaying ebook reading on this device. nice video.

  • no free books

  • The Aldiko app has some free books. But there is way for you to get over 5000 epub books for free. And I'm talking about bestsellers. So, with Aldiko, you don't have to pay a penny for books.

  • i cant read the end of the page that ist not possible .

how u read the end of the page maybe by 2:25 or 2:27 or 2:34 thats chid

  • is the archos better than the ipod touch?

  • @baddieorgoodie2

the archos supports all systems, Windows 7/XP/Vista, linux, android, mac etc. and the archos supports hd movies and about 50 formats, pictures can be watched by about 50megapixels etc.

  • That has a micro sd card slot in it right?

  • @CommShadow yeah up to a 32gb

  • @stevechippy can you bring downloaded ebooks onto your archos 5 from your computer?

  • Very nice review, I like the Aldiko better. Need to get myself one of those archos now!

  • im getting this soon

  • How do you move your already owned books from your computer to your Archos???

  • great review. Archos always made nice products

  • Looks backlit. If that's the case then it would cause serious eye strain if you read for any amount of time. Looks slick but backlit is bad for the eyes of a reader.

  • That is just not true! I have read for years on a Palm T3 and the back light has never caused me the slightest discomfort. Although you may be getting eye strain does not mean that everyone does. Ebook readers are fine if you only read under a lamp or in the sunlight, but they work lousy on a bus in the morning or evening, when most people commute. I look forward to the pad computers coming out for the reading potential.

  • The contrast seems awesome. Really deep blacks and bright color, to be such simple hand held device.

  • wht is the price

  • Has anyone reviewed the gps portion of the device?

  • is the ebook thing free?

  • Most things are free with the Android system. I haven't tried FBreader, but Aldiko is definitely free.

  • How would you compare the experience to a traditional e-book reader (like the kindle 2)?

I am interested in buying an e-book reader, but seeing that this also has a GPS, plays music, video, web browser, wifi, etc etc etc, I think would consider this internet tablet instead... what do you guys think?

  • best thing invented so far i think ... do you think it`s better than the i touch ? what your opinion. ?

  • @dtnkid1 This is better than the iPod Touch.

  • @HetfieldHammetUlrich You're high as a kite if you think this resistive touchscreen Android "tablet" is better than an iPod Touch.

  • @ChrisWalker2k I don't care about resistive. FOr me it's works and it don't cost thousand of dollars. This is clearly cheaper than the dumbPod.

  • @HetfieldHammetUlrich Ipod Touch starts at £189. Not a thousand dollars. Ipod Touch has one of the highest pixel density capacitive screens available. It also has iBooks and iTunes on boards for books, audio books, and comics right to the device wherever you are.

I don't doubt the Archos device is good. Archos makes some great stuff. I'm just saying it's nothing like the quality of an iPod Touch.

  • @ChrisWalker2k Be a sheep if you want.

  • @HetfieldHammetUlrich sweet great review!! I just saw a review of it that didn't include ebook reading and ebooks is s a big feature that I'd use with this mini tablet! looks awesome!

  • @HetfieldHammetUlrich bollocks I thought this was the arhos 43. How does this compare to the 43?

  • is what you show the largest font size, or can it go a bit bigger? thanks

  • that's very interesting. i have zero experience with ebook readers but would it work with amazon books that are available for the kindle ?

  • Cool

  • What app could you use for pdf files?

  • Good question. I was asking the same thing somewhere else. I'm sure i'll find something.

  • @stevechippy Are you saying you haven't found a pdf player for the android enables Archos 5, this isn't included, iow?

  • @stevechippy Do you know how to turn off the page flip sound in Aldiko??? I find it annoying.

  • You could use ezPDF Reader - it's the best app for pdf files! Good luck!

  • ThinkFree Mobile

This application allows you to view Microsoft® Office 97/2000/XP/2003/2007 Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF documents.

it is installed on the new Archos 5 Android out of the box

  • @tdreamgmail I use mobipocket ebook reader. very simple and intuitive

  • @tdreamgmail Open Office

  • @tdreamgmail You could use ezPDF Reader - it's the best app for pdf files! Good luck!

  • Thanks for the video.

Would you make a video about the email-function of the device? That would be great.

  • Your videos are really great, please keep them coming.

My i ask how it come that you have a german book there?

  • German wife!

  • Awesome video! 7 hours with WiFi on sounds like a lot!

  • That's not all with screen on!

  • which is a good ebook read

  • Thanks for this video.
