  • wow

  • wow fantastic! Please, can I have the listing for prophecy? thank U

  • Great studio

  • the aliens arrived !

  • this sound is delicious. is it a patch you made or built on a preset? i have one coming in this week that i found. terribly excited about it.

  • @tngregory it is available on the modern models-card, hope you enjoy your prophecy

  • get one while you can..they will soon go up in price!

  • sounds like Vangelis

  • i am so glad that some companies still make synths and keyboards let me tell ya. it's just something about them that blows away a completely computer driven sound modules and software etc.

  • heard some really pants stuff done with the prophecy, & as a fellow owner it always disspoints me to see. this isnt one of them (more patchs please)

    :)

  • Impressive video

    you are a gifted musician

has this synth the same sounds as th z1 which is said to be the polyphonic version of the prophecy.

can the z1 read and reproduce equal sounds from the prophecy

  • i dunno about this one...the Proph filter is awful squeaky/scratchy/harsh compared to that sweet sweet CS filter

  • one the thing I hate about the prophecy is that the volume decreases when the reverb (or any other internal fx)is increased. thant drives me bonkers, guess its a processing issue. the prophecy is still one of synthiest synths I've ever owned.

  • hmm... that's nice sound, but there's nothing special. please do something original and not just imitation. At least try to improvise something different like Vangelis always does.

  • i wuz nervous;) but here's a full track i did instead, search for "Studio session: Atari in the dark - 1"

  • Great sound! You have some interesting gear.

    I have a moog litte phatty, a Korg i4S workstation, a Korg Radias, a Akai AX-80, and a Roland SH-201.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Nice verb!

  • great job. i humbly submit my korg dw8000 cs 80 clone.

  • OMG!

    Gimme that patch!

  • thats a pretty convincing reproduction...i think that riff is off a tv programme which is dedicated just to him. they interviewed him and he was playing something similar to that on the cs. In fact, im sure its on youtube.

  • Have you tweaked one of the presets ? If so, which one? Or is that patch one of your own creations ?

If so, is that patch available for download ?

  • Very good i like it, Arturia version of CS-80 is a a joke.Very bad joke.

  • I like the CS80V of Arturia. Dunno how close it's to the real CS80, but it doesn't matter anyways.

It's just a really good VST.

  • Brill, very thoughtful, well constructed & played,... result, haunting beautiful sound.!

  • is that riff just from that one short video of vangelis? or is it in one of his proper tunes?

also is that a prophecy? what do you think of it ive been thinking about getting one for a long time its between the prophecy and a yamaha an1x

  • Yes it makes an A/B-comparison easier;) I guess it's just one of his improvised riffs but maybe from something he never released (he has said he could release 20 albums a year or something).

It is Korg Prophecy, I'm just looking for that certain type of cs80 stringvibe and thought Prophecy did it acceptable at that particular moment, what do you think?

  • I have never used the An1x, but I'm aware that Prophecy (and Z1) uses a more complex technology called physical modelling (MOSS). Which distinguish it from other VA-synths that just tries to utilize a plain analogue interface. On the positive side is that it can come up with some wicked sounds that is very expressive, negative is that it isn't as straightforward as Virus/MS2000/Nord Lead etc. So if you only wish to go retro I would not recommend the Prophecy due to its special type of synthesis.
