i am so glad that some companies still make synths and keyboards let me tell ya. it's just something about them that blows away a completely computer driven sound modules and software etc.
one the thing I hate about the prophecy is that the volume decreases when the reverb (or any other internal fx)is increased. thant drives me bonkers, guess its a processing issue. the prophecy is still one of synthiest synths I've ever owned.
hmm... that's nice sound, but there's nothing special. please do something original and not just imitation. At least try to improvise something different like Vangelis always does.
thats a pretty convincing reproduction...i think that riff is off a tv programme which is dedicated just to him. they interviewed him and he was playing something similar to that on the cs. In fact, im sure its on youtube.
Yes it makes an A/B-comparison easier;) I guess it's just one of his improvised riffs but maybe from something he never released (he has said he could release 20 albums a year or something).
It is Korg Prophecy, I'm just looking for that certain type of cs80 stringvibe and thought Prophecy did it acceptable at that particular moment, what do you think?
I have never used the An1x, but I'm aware that Prophecy (and Z1) uses a more complex technology called physical modelling (MOSS). Which distinguish it from other VA-synths that just tries to utilize a plain analogue interface. On the positive side is that it can come up with some wicked sounds that is very expressive, negative is that it isn't as straightforward as Virus/MS2000/Nord Lead etc. So if you only wish to go retro I would not recommend the Prophecy due to its special type of synthesis.

i dunno about this one...the Proph filter is awful squeaky/scratchy/harsh compared to that sweet sweet CS filter

Have you tweaked one of the presets ? If so, which one? Or is that patch one of your own creations ?
If so, is that patch available for download ?

Very good i like it, Arturia version of CS-80 is a a joke.Very bad joke.

I like the CS80V of Arturia. Dunno how close it's to the real CS80, but it doesn't matter anyways.
It's just a really good VST.
