  • great vid!

  • can you tell me the brand and model of that air saw? pretty damn cool.

  • How much did you pay for those door panels?

I want to do something like this to my Impala, but I would never want to do it to my door panels I have on now, knowing it probably will never look worth a fuck! haha

  • Steve, what kinda glue is that? we can't find anything to stick like that to factory plactic

  • smoke some weed and get it done

  • what kinda glue u used for the circles!?

  • @ObedGlez Fast set CA (Cyanoacrylate) glue is what that is. The gel goes on to the work, and the spray (accelerator) activates it.

  • what kinda glue u used for the circles!?

  • the hood

  • yo so this dude gots subwoofers in his door to??

  • those are mids not subs

  • can you make door panels like this for a 2003 protege 3? if so whats a ballpark for how much it would cost also interested in the a frame setup you have on the tahoe

  • of course u can just maybe not the same setup

  • where can u get the glue and what is it called

  • at a store or online

  • what r you spraying on the glue to make it dry faster????is that brake clean?

  • its activator, same activator most likely used for CA Glue.

  • Well I'm definatly not into the whole crazy speaker thing but dam dude you do some good work

  • HELP NEEDED

im buying a kicker comp sub 12 or 15

would they sound the same if i had the same amp running?? i really need the space, its going in a truck, same ported box just the size of the sub....i need ALL the space i could save

  • 15 would hit harder because it has a bigger cone the bigger the cone the bigger bass you get if you compare them to speakers that have the same specs

  • go with the 12 if you're trying to save space. you can't put a 15 in a 12 box and expect it to perform efficiently lol.

  • Commentary at 2:30 - So perfect. :D Love the build vids Steve...I'm cheerin you on all the way from East St Lou!

  • ugh im so anxious to see it done. Thank you Steve for posting up these build videos. I'm learning alot. Hopefully this helps me out when I decide to work on my doors.

  • good idea! :)

  • well jus wanted to state that i continue to watch ur videos looking foward to the next one ur work is absolutely amazing u r indeed a perfectionist u will inspire me to put together a nice system in my hardbody pickup so far i have two re audio component sets for my door panels and two re audio 12's no amp yet not goin to be no where loud as urs but it will sound good and look good keep up the excellent work n thank you for putting everything on youtube stepbystep

  • Comment removed

  • where can i get a huge bass for pc's

  • logitech z-5500

  • logitech z-2300 "D

  • I was skeptical at the beginning of this video. I was worried that you were just going to glue up your rings, and fiberglass away.

Your reinforcement method changed my mind. Those are going to be some SOLID baffles. I see where you are going with this.

BTW, Steve.....these videos have been a great source of new ideas. I never would have thought to leave the small tab when using my Jasper jig. I always cut the outside first, then screw the inside down b4 I cut.

    Thanks for the new idea!

  • no prob bro and thank you too! I learned to do the tabs after i almost cut my finger off holding the router upside down and carving the ring out last year....i have a chunk out of my middle finger but its still there! :)

  • Damn steve, you never cease to amaze me,

  • thanks bro!!

  • oh ya i forgot, u gunna use those speaker boot things like u did in the hoopty to isolate the 8 from the 6&1/2's or the 6&1/2's from the 8?

  • yes......but i have been pondering making a fiberglass pod for the 8....but only if i can do that and still get the panel off. I think i can.

  • are you gunna do plugs on the hoe like u did on the hoopty?

anyways looks badass man, great work

  • the master at work. love it

  • hey man you have every toolssss to work!!! in this chveyy

  • whats the name of that glue ive seen it before i cant remember the name anyone know ?? but any way kick ass as allways steve cant wait to see the glassin !!

  • Loving these vids Steve. Lots of good how'd he do dat details in this work. Makes me wanna get some more power tools. And glue something.

  • sounds like wife is using a vaccume

  • You sir have a lot of patience! Quality work anyday though. Now don't flame me too bad on this, but are you using 1" MDF on these panels?

  • Steve, you're such an audiophile! I LOVE IT!

  • wit fiberglass.

  • sharpie, masking tape and cardboard, the 3 most omportatnt thongs to make sure a box fits.besides the box, that is.

  • firberglass

  • steve would you ever sell the civic my brother in law's son likes it alot and i think for a first car your civic would be pretty cool car

  • Sorry, his Son already called it, its going to be his once he is old enough.

  • that sucks

  • whats up with tha blue tape on tha door?

  • sick doors

  • the rebuild is soo exiting and i cant wait till you start glassin

  • very creative, the ride is lookin great love the updates

  • now is this an old tahoe you just found and are fixing or what?

  • No hes had it, he took the old system he had in it out and is updating it, watch all 34 videos

  • look at his videos. they are sick hes got like 4 18s. 20k watts. hits like hella hard.

  • that glue is strong as shit dude sick job bro

  • thats awesome!...i wish i had the skills to do all that stuff...hopefully i will someday

  • so sick steve!

  • yea it sucks having to do it but the finsh product is SLAMMIN

  • Seems like you are the only one on youtube that shows great detail you have answered a lot of "how the fuck they do that questions" in your vids thanks Steve looking forward tO the next vid

  • thanks man for sayin so :) ill try and keep em comin', its gonna get more interesting when i start glassing them up for sure!

    later bro

  • @dbosakamojo thank you for sayin so....if i didnt already tell you :)

  • ur a genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you are the best at what you do.. i love watching your videos.. every time I get on the computer i gotta go see if you put up a new video.. everyone of them 5 stars Bro

  • what team u support in football im with the GIANTS

  • yo dud u should wear a mask u inhale alot of that dust get soe lungs amazing work wish i had a brain like yours

  • clean as hell bro this is very nice 5 stars!

  • Are you gonna be building a sealed pod for the 8"s or are you gonna leave them IB. Do you think it'll sound alright if they're all common chamber w/ the other mids?

    Works clean as usual man.

  • door panels are mostly IB and they shouldnt play off eachother too bad....but i will probably use a foam "pod" like in the other ride i did to help keep the back wave of the 8 off the others. It shouldnt be too bad though.

  • I know alot of door set ups are IB, I just thought since you were using an 8" sub instead of a mid, there would be a difference. Like if the F3 wasn't low enough to be an IB speaker.

Those foam pods are a good idea, i've seen them before but was kinda skeptical about how well they worked. If they're closed cell im sure they'll be fine

  • once its all said and done, if i have room to make i SOLID pod for the 8, i will....it will sound better. I wish i had the room to port it :D

  • it absolutley will. If you weren't running 3 mids in each door plus the 8 you could absolutely port them. Lexus did it in the SC300's i think w/ the premium audio system. They made little ported enclosures for their 6.5's

For what it's worth, porting a mid-enclosure in my mind just really wouldn't be worth it. especially w/ the rest of the mid you have to back it up plus your sub stage

  • this is gona be loud as hell. your doors have more bang than my entire truck. lol. keep up the good work.

  • 12:52 check engine ?

  • its was most likely a door ajar light meaning the door is open not check engine

  • 5 stars man....this build has me comin to my computer 3 times a day for updates!!!!

  • Same here...

  • steve u r a genious!

ive watched all your videos :)

  • I realy want to see this when its done =3

  • yea i agree steve put in alot of work. cant wait to see it in action

  • sup man...i noticed the 3rd 61/2 speaker is kinda blocked by ur front seat. won't that take away some of the sound? u know like not directly getting to ur ears.

  • does that glue really hold them together well? even with the bass?

  • there wont be any bass in them until i fiberglass them, sand them, and upholster the panels. The glue only holds them in place until i get the 'glassing done.

  • what are you going to upholster them with?? I just fiberglassed the back corner of the bed on my ranger where it was wrecked.. that fiberglass hardens up like a brick.. I can see why it would be good for building car audio boxes..

  • he's just making a mock up strong enough for fibreglass coated cloth. so no - the glue alone wont do anything.

  • great job steve...!! keep up the great work man!! hats off...!!!

  • wow steve your very indepth with all your work and im learning so much from your vids....props man

  • i used a router the other day and it got my ears ringing too. loud little fuckers

  • NO doubt bro no doubt...LOL

  • Looking sweet as always Steve. The time and work you put into this really shows in these videos. And it always pays off in the end. Kick ass job man cant wait to see the finished product.

  • jesus, that glue is 44 dollars, and the activator is 24 dollars, is that alot of glue in there steve? is that the glue you use for your boxes? im building a box right now, was just looking through the forum trying to figure out what kind of glue you use for your boxes

  • i use Titebond II Glue on actual boxes - for misc stuff like what your seeing, i use CA glue. The bottle is 8oz so its quite a bit really, especially if you consider that a 1oz bottle at the hobby shop, which isnt even as good, is 10 bucks. For box building though man, stick with a good wood glue.

  • sweet, i got some tight bond 2 last night, thats what im going to use then.

  • right on man! ya for little stuff where it needs to set right away, the CA glue is the way to go and at "a dab-at-a-time" that bottle lasts a while and has MANY other uses around the house besides car audio. I cant count how many things i have fixed in a pinch because its so damn fast with the activator.

  • steve i think it is time for a bigger house brotha.. maybe a three car garage..

  • nice..

  • hey steve, nice work on your car man.

    Im following every upload;)

thanks, and keep it up from Holland

    pce

  • lookn good steve man if im ever in cali im gonna have to cdome do a demo

  • cant wait to see the fiberglass work

  • He must have a very supportive wife for him to be able to be in the garage everyday without getting too much static.

  • nice work man ~~!!

  • Yep,I learn somthing new everyday !! Thanks

  • no ear protection with the router? any way your doors look sweet!

  • his ears are perfectly trained from listening his music in the car

  • LoL He dont need ear protection ;-) His system is much more louder or should he wear ear protection when he is driving his car lmfao

  • i had stuff in my ears bro....the router hurts my ears and has them ringning way harder then my beat...and my beat is 20db louder.

  • I have to say ive never seen anyone in my lifetime that can build a system like steve meade, he's the best 10 stars!!

  • i did bro there was some plugs stuffed into my ears this time.....that router is no joke -

  • i now i read ur thread ;) its the higher hertz that will make ya go deaf...

    HondaxPower

  • lol he bangs his brain to 4 18s.... i think his ears are gone bud

  • ears are fine.

  • cant be...

  • are.

  • lol....

  • WOW Looks realy COOL

  • You need a helmet cam or something. Working one handed goes pretty slow.

  • u are right steve the body saw is the best tool ever, i use to have one and i still swear by them things, shit cuts through anything

  • steve do u run highs and mids through that 8 inch well i mean will u ?

  • Super clean!

  • fucking thing gonna look tits

  • hell yeah

  • Your too cool

  • fucking sick steve

  • Wow, from the holes to the doors, I am taking notes, man! I've been in the audio business for 15 years, and I just keep getting impressed by your percision. Somehow, I think the panes look great so far.

  • dude its starting to rlly come together..... is RF paying u to have all the product in ur car with the publicity u have... or is the free product the end of ur dealings with them?

  • very mature.

  • Comment removed

  • so are you going to fiberglass the whole door panel? or just the parts that got chopped up?

  • I don't have the patience or the skill for this type of thing, it's fun watching meade do it though, he makes it look easy!

  • Go watch some HGTV or DIY, you'll be putting up drywall or replacing 2x4 in no time.

  • man your teachin me a lot.

  • dam dat shiit nice!! kant wait till nxt vid!!

  • just one question? why are you switching to the RFs and not stayin with the XXXs?

  • cant wait to what direction you go in next wanna some some resin...

  • man bro cant wait to see the fiberglass video! i never done it but my next box for my truck i want to fiber glass it!
