  • Brilliant.... iconic ....awesome.....can't get enough......good job PULP

  • Their best album by far...

  • I said Goddamn!

  • The chorus sounds a bit like Mott the Hoople's ''Saturday Gigs''... Almost the same chords at least. They're both great songs nevertheless.

Also see Spacehog's ''2nd Avenue''. Hmm, same chords again...

  • reminds me of waters-era floyd

  • Sorry think I was a bit over sensitive on that comment lol ! :) X

  • @ugotmatt Whyyy does youtube always have to be about argumentative comments? I never said there was nothing more to it, I just think that for me it portrays anxiety perfectly, people view song meanings depending on how it relates to them personally! And I haven't reached that 'certain age' yet ;) x

  • This is the sound of someone loosing the plot - making out their ok when they're not.....

....a monkey's built a house on your back.....you can't get anyone to come in the sack....here comes another panic attack...

(no one else writes like this - love it!)

  • @mooney9013. This actually aired shortly after the release of "This is Hardcore" in early 1998!

  • Suchh a great song. The ultimate soundtrack to anxiety!

  • @guitaristroz I disgree - I think it's much deeper than that and I think Jarvis is talking about the realisation of failure at a certain age....

  • A simply rocking performance. I love how the fidelity to the studio version is maintained.

  • this song allong with common people are truelly brilliant!!!!!

thanks for posting this video lady or gent

  • "when you're no longer searching for beauty or love...just some kind of life with the edges taken off"....genius. his radio show ain't half bad either

  • Wow, I can't believe how much this sounds like the album. What an excellent group of performers.

  • great great great song and brilliant album !!!!!!

  • wow.

this is so sublime. i agree with others 'this is hardcore' is the the best album pulp has done.

i also like that this performance opened the show... how are all the other acts supposed to follow this? lenny kravitz? haha, good luck.

  • @stangable1984 hahhaha thats a mean comment...but loved it lmao!

  • @stangable1984 You are so right!

I bloody love this...the drummer is AWESOME and the backing singers are brilliant.

Yes, it is true to the album recording, except for the guitar solos...not that it matters :) Truly breathtaking.

  • @ladycoxlet yeah, the other performance from this show (Dishes) features additional solos and different ones not on the album.

    And yes, they are fantastic.

  • I've always loved this song...so much !

  • holy fuckin shite

  • indeed

  • what year is this?

  • most likely early 90's

  • why, i do not kwow when this was shot, didn't we here in Holland more about Pulp? It has been merely Oasis, Blur and some others like Franz Ferdinand. Why not Pulp or for the best Supergrass? Or am I mixing times?

  • This Is Hardcore > Different Class

  • I agree
