  • just like nba 2k lets you relieve classic games, Madden 12 should have a feature where you can play this game and the fog bowl as well. they can make it where all the players slip throughout the game and its nearly impossible to see the rest of your team. that would be amazing!!!

  • unbelievable that they played that game

  • Players are too soft to play a game like this nowadays. Then again, they have underground field warming units that'll never let a game like this happen ever again.

  • That would have hurt so damn bad to get hit hard and fall down big on that turf!!

  • 3:28 I feel like the song Levels was influenced from this song playing, no doubt

  • 2:49 underarmour fail

  • they should have dumped water on lombardi

  • what about the dolphins steelers game in 2007 hell the final score was 3-0

  • "going to the NFL Championships" classic!

  • @kilox10001 It was Jaguars vs. Panthers. I live in Charlotte and all I heard from fans were stories about how the stairs all turned into waterfalls and the bottom rows were inundated.

  • Some old man fan in the stands actually DIED during the game, and people talk about how great it is? Insanity.

  • @GhoullyXX Nobody forced him to attend the game or stay for that matter.

  • *boner*

  • if that happend now...

*flag* penalty on the defence. Making the quarterback slip. repeat 1st down

  • now why the hell is there more footage of the ice bowl and there is of Super Bowl 1. They were played the same year for crying out loud!!!!!!

  • @spruill7716 actually the Packer and Cowboys were playing for who gets to go to SuperBowl 2

  • @v3gadaViRuS Well, they were played in the same calendar year.

  • @v3gadaViRuS Then why did the guy say "packers are going to the nfl championship for the THIRD straight year?

  • @spruill7716 nfl films covered both, and have the only footage. CBS apparently "wiped" the footage to both games since the networks were too cheap to buy more tape back in the day

  • That guy at 1:20 is my hero.

  • fuck that in finland we played football in 27 degrees

  • @pervopoju1 awkward cause compared to america, finland sucks at football..

  • Here in Richmond VA 25F is Ice Bowl material... think I'll stay down here.

  • And that is why Starr is the best QB in Packers history. He called his own plays, had tremendous leadership, he ran that offense like a brain surgeon, and he always made plays when they mattered the most....

Favre would've thrown an interception on that drive...

  • in Quebec in Canada, we have a football game EVERY TIME like that and sometime, it's worse!! the worst was -30 celcius no joke!!

  • @djaftermidnight We're talking about real football, not poseur football.

  • @southparkfan2717 high school AAA. not so bad don't you think?

  • I remember watching this game on tv with my father. I was 5 years old at the time!

Prediction Jan 2012 the Ice Bowl II in GB!

  • @mpj32587 one fan died so i guess you could say that they were frigid lol...

  • The fans must have been frigid just sittin in the stands lmao wow thats cold

  • 2014 SUPER BOWL! NY/NJ

  • I wish this game was in HD!

  • It's called a roof, we have the technoligy

  • @iiVeNuM What is this...technology you speak of?

  • the fans were the real tough ppl

  • Does anyone the song that starts up at 3:48? I know I have heard it before on other NFL Films productions, but I can't find its specific title.

  • i remeber telling my grandpa was it cold and hes like oh you dont want to know

  • -15 F? That's -26 Celcius.

In Canada, we play game in that weather ALL the time in the winter. In fact, last year, I played a game where it was -35 Celcius (-31 Fahrenheit).

I fail to see the problem with this weather.

  • @MrCceellttiicc you got to understand we live in america we arent used to be in that kind of weather..

  • @MrCceellttiicc

Maybe because your stupid ass is used to that kind of weather. I hope you realize that it doesn't get -35 degrees fahrenheit everywhere and people adapt to whatever climate they live in. moron

  • @MrCceellttiicc You fail to see the problem? Damn canadians are fucking stupid

  • @MrCceellttiicc eh? how often do you play football ootside?

  • @MrCceellttiicc

It's not just the temperature. It's that the field was frozen.

  • That's -15 WITHOUT the wind chill.

  • It is 120 F with the humidex here in Toronto, I'm watching this to cool off

  • @TOSportsFan1990 You know cold just like we do....and cheese freezes in -15 F weather.

  • @TOSportsFan1990good thinking wow! 120*F LOL(:

  • @TOSportsFan1990 is it working

  • @TOSportsFan1990 That's because CANA-DUH sucks!! What your suck CFL and stop watching our game. Bad enough we gave you an MLB, NBA team and our NFL BILLS play there once a year, you guys suck! Americans don't watch your crap because it sucks. We rule hockey even!!

  • @wattie12117roxxxxx what is up your ass

  • @wattie12117roxxxxx you have 5 x's in your s/n, your "argument" is invalid

  • @wattie12117roxxxxx F*** you

  • @wattie12117roxxxxx you sir, have earned the name "douchebag." Congrats.

  • @wattie12117roxxxxx i love ignorant 9 year olds like you its funny to see how little you no, America is shit, and thats coming from someone who lives in America

  • when they say 15 below do the mean celcius or farenheight?

  • @gutfray They mean Ferenheight. If it was Celcius, it would have been a little warmer.

  • @FFKH92 wow... okay thanks buddy :)

  • @gutfray -15 F = -25 C

  • @GirC33 WRONG!!!!

  • Nope

  • Can someone please put the rest of this certain countdown up

  • I wonder if they would play in those conditions today? The 2007 NFC Championship Game was in late afternoon (and mostly after dark) and about 10 degrees warmer (-4). If the Packers had won, it's likely that the Patriots would have completed their undefeated season. The 1982 AFC Championship Game in Cincinnati was nearly as cold (-9). But the Chargers had no chance in that game. The Ice Bowl would have been a classic in any weather conditions - it defined the Lombardi/Starr era & legacy...

  • @alanrdowney Yes... They would play. I guarantee they would still play in any weather conditions, barring a natural disaster obviously. The only reason the Philly game was postponed this year, was because the Vikings couldn't even fly into town. It wasn't because they wouldn't let them play in the conditions. People need to realize that, and stop making a big fuss about it.

  • poor cowboys, they didn't have homefield advantage and they had a 60 degrees climate change from what they're used to. And they STILL almost won

  • -15 are you kedding me in montreal right now is -30

  • @chixiie23 alright let's see you playing on a frozen field then

  • @chixiie23 With wind chill it was around -48 degrees

  • @chixiie23 -15 is like -26 in celsius. plus windchill. plus being outside for a very long time playing a game of football.

  • @chixiie23 canadians are escimos anyway

  • But I didn't know that part about no whistles....that's really funny.

  • So he did. And when they put the tarp back on, because of the heat, condensation formed under the tarp. The wetness of the condensation and extreme cold overwhelmed the heating system and it broke down...freezing the field like a block of ice when they took the tarp off on Sunday morning. Lombardi was embarrassed that the fantastic system he had proudly shown to everyone who would look had malfunctioned so dramatically.

  • The true story of the field for this game is that Lombardi had had the field heating system installed and was extremely proud of it. On Saturday morning the field was in fantastic shape...the heating system was working wonderfully. But the Cowboys had come in on Friday and wanted to practice on the field on Saturday. Lombardi resisted and refused to have the field uncovered. He got a call from the NFL Commissioned telling him to take the tarp off and let them practice. (Cont above)

  • What happened to weather not affecting the schedule? It was so much more awesome to see games in all sorts of conditions like this. I can't even imagine how proud the Green Bay Ex-players must still feel about that win. Even minus zero degree weather wasn't enough to slow them down.

  • They showed in an NFL film clip that jerry kramer shoul dhave been called for illegal procedure...

  • @Mastophales Which means the play that would have made NFL history (GB wins unchallenged 3 titles in a row) would have been a five-and-a-half yard TD pass to Chuck Mercein, Donny Anderson, Carroll Dale, Max McGee or Marv Fleming with seven seconds left instead of a sneak. Dallas couldn't cover GB's receivers or get any pass rush in that drive. Packers still would have won.

  • Thumbs up to the Lambeau faithful!!!

  • Hell yeah Imma wear gloves lol..but its your classic case of hard nose gridiron football

  • I wonder what the coldest Rugby match was?

  • Back when men were men. Neither Bart Starr nor Don Meridith wore gloves, and neither had a pocket pouch either!

  • @zenmachinefilms I know this is easily one of the top 5 NFL games of all time.

  • holy crap

  • wowwww. Watch any CFL game near the end of the season. Especally the up coming grey cup lol.

  • @prichardsph minus 16 Fahrenheit is damn cold, no matter where you live.

  • @prichardsph no one cares about canadian football

  • i'd think it would be sweet to see a modern day game in this condition

  • @PJ2195 Ya but too bad today's NFL is too soft to play a game like this. Canceling that Eagles game because of the whether show that the NFL no longer cares about what made them what they are today.

  • @Katsuya89 Yeah, and they shouldn't have cancelled the Minnesota game when the roof collapsed either.

  • @Katsuya89 The players are too overpaid and the NFL worries too much about law suits. Just having good clean fun isn't the priority anymore. Back then the players made enough to survive and played the game because they loved it not because they could make a billion dollars and they were talented at it.

  • @PJ2195 - The league could have the Super Bowl at Lambeau. I for one would not complain.

  • @PJ2195 i'd think it would be sweet to see a modern day game in this condition

we did, its called the 2007 NFC champ. game

  • @PJ2195 The 2007 NFC Championship game was just about as cold.

  • @PJ2195 There have been plenty just as bad. The NFCCG a few years ago in GB was only a few degrees warmer. In the 80's the Bengals hosted the Chargers in COLDER wind chill conditions. It was MINUS 60 that day. The Bears just hosted the Patriots in Chicago this year. By the time the final gun sounded, it was zero degrees, the wind was blowing 50 MPH, and a foot of snow had fallen. Even though only a few inches covered the field due to the heating system under the turf. There have been a lot...

  • @PJ2195 watch the Vikings game where they played at the college field

  • @PJ2195 I feel liike nowadays, the NFL would just postpone it or move it to a different location.

  • @jk08PHS never wil a supebowl happen at lambeu it really is sad

  • @PJ2195 Giants vs Pack @ laumbeau NFC Championship

  • wow "give me a pair of brown gloves he'll never know the difference?" hmm

  • @mchenghb i thought that was funny!

  • @mchenghb i thought that was funny!

  • My dad was there.

  • @stoopkid80 You mean your two dads?

  • @stoopkid80 - Dad and mom were in the south end zone.

  • @stoopkid80 thats where he met your mom

  • @stoopkid80 Hey...my mom was with your dad...are you my brother?

  • @zcg3 Who is your mom?

  • @zcg3 My dad was only 15...

  • @stoopkid80 That's right...my mom was only 13. Man, it's a small world.

  • @zcg3 At that time my mom was only 4...

  • @zcg3 Hey my Mom was a friend of your friend's cousin who dated my aunt who knew your grandfather who went to school with my uncle. Are we related?

  • @bangitslo That may be true cause my grandfather was a real to life whore. But, to make sure, I think we should get a DNA test as soon as possible. If we are related, I am looking forward in meeting with you and maybe borrow some money...

  • @zcg3 Fat chance, bud. I'm over 50, lost my job, my home, my family and I sleep on her sofa with no job prospects. Sorry dude - I'm a straight loser.

  • @bangitslo just shows how bad this economy is...
