just like nba 2k lets you relieve classic games, Madden 12 should have a feature where you can play this game and the fog bowl as well. they can make it where all the players slip throughout the game and its nearly impossible to see the rest of your team. that would be amazing!!!
Players are too soft to play a game like this nowadays. Then again, they have underground field warming units that'll never let a game like this happen ever again.
@kilox10001 It was Jaguars vs. Panthers. I live in Charlotte and all I heard from fans were stories about how the stairs all turned into waterfalls and the bottom rows were inundated.
@spruill7716 nfl films covered both, and have the only footage. CBS apparently "wiped" the footage to both games since the networks were too cheap to buy more tape back in the day
And that is why Starr is the best QB in Packers history. He called his own plays, had tremendous leadership, he ran that offense like a brain surgeon, and he always made plays when they mattered the most....
Favre would've thrown an interception on that drive...
Maybe because your stupid ass is used to that kind of weather. I hope you realize that it doesn't get -35 degrees fahrenheit everywhere and people adapt to whatever climate they live in. moron
@TOSportsFan1990 That's because CANA-DUH sucks!! What your suck CFL and stop watching our game. Bad enough we gave you an MLB, NBA team and our NFL BILLS play there once a year, you guys suck! Americans don't watch your crap because it sucks. We rule hockey even!!
@wattie12117roxxxxx i love ignorant 9 year olds like you its funny to see how little you no, America is shit, and thats coming from someone who lives in America
I wonder if they would play in those conditions today? The 2007 NFC Championship Game was in late afternoon (and mostly after dark) and about 10 degrees warmer (-4). If the Packers had won, it's likely that the Patriots would have completed their undefeated season. The 1982 AFC Championship Game in Cincinnati was nearly as cold (-9). But the Chargers had no chance in that game. The Ice Bowl would have been a classic in any weather conditions - it defined the Lombardi/Starr era & legacy...
@alanrdowney Yes... They would play. I guarantee they would still play in any weather conditions, barring a natural disaster obviously. The only reason the Philly game was postponed this year, was because the Vikings couldn't even fly into town. It wasn't because they wouldn't let them play in the conditions. People need to realize that, and stop making a big fuss about it.
So he did. And when they put the tarp back on, because of the heat, condensation formed under the tarp. The wetness of the condensation and extreme cold overwhelmed the heating system and it broke down...freezing the field like a block of ice when they took the tarp off on Sunday morning. Lombardi was embarrassed that the fantastic system he had proudly shown to everyone who would look had malfunctioned so dramatically.
The true story of the field for this game is that Lombardi had had the field heating system installed and was extremely proud of it. On Saturday morning the field was in fantastic shape...the heating system was working wonderfully. But the Cowboys had come in on Friday and wanted to practice on the field on Saturday. Lombardi resisted and refused to have the field uncovered. He got a call from the NFL Commissioned telling him to take the tarp off and let them practice. (Cont above)
What happened to weather not affecting the schedule? It was so much more awesome to see games in all sorts of conditions like this. I can't even imagine how proud the Green Bay Ex-players must still feel about that win. Even minus zero degree weather wasn't enough to slow them down.
@Mastophales Which means the play that would have made NFL history (GB wins unchallenged 3 titles in a row) would have been a five-and-a-half yard TD pass to Chuck Mercein, Donny Anderson, Carroll Dale, Max McGee or Marv Fleming with seven seconds left instead of a sneak. Dallas couldn't cover GB's receivers or get any pass rush in that drive. Packers still would have won.
@PJ2195 Ya but too bad today's NFL is too soft to play a game like this. Canceling that Eagles game because of the whether show that the NFL no longer cares about what made them what they are today.
@Katsuya89 The players are too overpaid and the NFL worries too much about law suits. Just having good clean fun isn't the priority anymore. Back then the players made enough to survive and played the game because they loved it not because they could make a billion dollars and they were talented at it.
@PJ2195 There have been plenty just as bad. The NFCCG a few years ago in GB was only a few degrees warmer. In the 80's the Bengals hosted the Chargers in COLDER wind chill conditions. It was MINUS 60 that day. The Bears just hosted the Patriots in Chicago this year. By the time the final gun sounded, it was zero degrees, the wind was blowing 50 MPH, and a foot of snow had fallen. Even though only a few inches covered the field due to the heating system under the turf. There have been a lot...
@bangitslo That may be true cause my grandfather was a real to life whore. But, to make sure, I think we should get a DNA test as soon as possible. If we are related, I am looking forward in meeting with you and maybe borrow some money...
